Regular carnitas burrito. Excellent.
Anthony S.

Some of the best Carnitas I've experienced. Perfect light crunch and tender. Diced up into small pieces. Not overly grease. Vector for the Carnitas was a regular burrito. Outstanding. Not an SF mission type. More like a traditional lunch burrito from decades ago. So good. Fair Warning - they add lettuce. Multiple taps of good brews available. Reasonable prices and excellent service.

Stopped here for a quick bite while charging Tesla. Ordered two shrimp and two veggie tacos. They were simple and delicious. Shrimp was well cooked. Service was fast. We also took guac and chips to go. I think chips were stale but guac was good. Will definitely stop for tacos on our way to Reno next time.

Carnitas super burrito.

My normal test for a Mexican restaurant is to order the Chile Releno or Carnitas. Had the super Carnitas burrito, sour cream, lettuce, beans ,hot sauce & some pretty tender Carnitas, delicious. Came with some fresh chips & house made salsa. Enough for two.

My wife and I are experiencing an Auburn taco crawl -- sampling tacos at 9 different restaurants and fast food joints. We ask each to give us their most popular tacos. At Maria's we had the Quesa Barbacoa taco, mild spiciness. Plenty of meat, moist on soft corn tortillas. Inexpensive and fast. No ambiance to this place and they have trouble keeping the tables turned. Friendly server and a fast chef. A satisfying first taco especially if you opt for take out.

We were staying in Auburn just down the street from this Mexican Cafe. We saw the sign and the big building so decided to stop in and eat dinner. We were a bit shocked when we found that it was a hole-in-the-wall spot and more for take out. No service as you walk up to a chalkboard inside and order and there are very few tables inside. Usually I run for the hills when I find a dirty restroom but since we had out dog we decided to sit outside in the patio. I did like that the patio was covered from the heat and they had sprayer with droplets of water to keep it cool. Once inside, it was very confusing. You walk up to the cashier and make your order, but the menu on the wall is hard to read and it seemed everything is al-a-carte. They do advertise that you get free chips and salsa but they don't offer much as the little basket was half full. And the salsa is super hot so take care with the kids. We got a Super Burrito ($16) with nothing else on the plate. And two tacos and extra side of beans for $11. Not a lot to eat for an almost $40 bill after the drinks and extra salsas. The food was okay but not great. Next time we will go to a regular Mexican Restaurant and get a plate full.

It been over a year now since we are staying in auburn for the moment. This place always gave our appetites a full meal. Service was very wonderful I called ahead to see if they have any cause normally we stop by they always ran out the lovely clerk very nice I love her smile and she knew exactly it was was on that called in for the porky tacos. Inside was still nice and clean outside seating was perfect for the heat weather. We will always return again in future no other authentic Mexican restaurant then this place will win over negativity.

Carne asada queaadilla

Ah Maria's! Local staple here in Auburn. The food is always consistently good and very filling. I almost always get the quesadilla and it never disappoints. The service is always fast as well.

Al pastor (chicken), carnitas, carne asada.

Bam! Super delicious al pastor and carnitas. This will be a regular stop for us on our way to Tahoe as we charge at the Supercharger across the parking lot. There is a nice shades patio with cooling misters so we could have our dog with us. The red salsa that came with the chips was saucy in consistency and truly flavorful. Maria used chicken for the al pastor this day and it was so moist and savory. Service was exceptionally friendly.

Food and services should be greatly improved. My two guests and I were unable to finish our meals. Even the churros were uneatable.

Put in an order of carnitas nachos. It was alright. Nothing to rave about. If you need to something to fill the void. Here you go.

I love the wall murals featuring the restaurant's name. There are a couple TVs and a ton of seating but all indoors. Order at the counter and take away or dine in. The cashier was friendly and helpful to navigate the menu. We opted for the 2 fish tacos or 2 shrimp tacos daily special for $8.75 and three in an al pastor Torta and grilled chicken street taco to boot. Chips and salsa are included. Fish taco - 9 - Nice crunchy batter with fresh fish and amazing punch with the pickled onions and Chipotle Crema Shrimp taco - 8 - Fresh shrimp but lacks spice. Pickled onions and Chipotle Crema give it flavor. Super Torta with Al pastor - 7 - Sadly they gave us a very plain carne asada but the rest of the Torta was good. Street taco combination with grilled chicken - 5 - The chicken was very bland but nicely cooked. The beans were terrific and the rice was just ok Pretty cool taqueria with some tasty items and ones to avoid unless you prefer your meats bland. We saw a molcajete on one table and a sizzling plate of fajitas at another which intrigues us for another time. I'd come back for the seafood tacos and the beans though!!!
