Had a work meeting and our coordinator wanted to take us out to lunch. This place was within walking distance so we stopped by to check it out. I got a carne asada super burrito and a Jamaica (hibiscus) drink. Both were fabulous. Only negative about this place is that the interior is very small, so if you come at peak times, it might be hard to get a table. Other than that, a great spot for awesome Mexican food! read more

A simple basic Mexican Taqueria. It's clean, compact and somewhat outdated in atmosphere, but still quite nice. It can get busy during lunch, keeping in mind there are a limited number of tables for eating in. There's table service if you get one, and the staff is very efficient and cordial. The menu is also quite complementary to this type of place, all the traditional items. Prices are not bad. I ordered a Torta with Carnitas (grilled pork) and the portion was quite large and filling. The bread and all the ingredients were fresh and absolutely delicious. It can get messy and I went through several napkins. There was plenty of hot sauce which satisfied my spicy taste buds. I liberally put it on the sandwich as I ate it. Chips and salsa came out first and both hit the spot. I washed it down with lemonade, tasted freshly made and refreshing for this type of meal. My favorite Mexican spot. Everything I've had from here is amazing and I always make a point to get at least 8 oz extra of salsa to take home for around $4.00 which is a steal for the quality. The food is always top quality and made in a very timely fashion. The staff is always amazing and many of them are bilingual so many people can order comfortably. The restaurant is small and most tables sit between 4-6 and I think there are 6 tables total, so be weary of the limited seating if you want to eat there. read more

This tiny restaurant next to the Beermann plaza can be easy to miss. From the outside the exterior looks like a little house. But they are a family ran taqueria serving up traditional, classic Mexican dishes. Overall, it's a solid dining option when I find myself in Lincoln. The interior is smallish, with a dining area with about six 4 person tables and two 2 person tables. It's cozy for sure. I popped in for a late mid afternoon weekend lunch, so it wasn't busy. The complimentary chips tasted and looked fresh fried. Crisp yumminess without the oiliness. The red salsa was delicious; flavorful with a bit of non spicy kick. The cerviche tostada was fantastic. Yum. Fresh flavors. It was a bit wet though, so I put a napkin underneath to soak up the wetness to slow down the tostada from getting overly wet and falling apart. The cerviche tostada was $5.99. The shredded beef in the crispy taco had good basic flavor. The one item combo with beans and rice is priced at $10.99, two items $12.99, and three items $14.99. read more

My visit to the Lincoln area was made complete by a stop at Los Gallos! I visited with some friends who are local to the area and highly recommended it. I'm so glad they did. For my meal, I had the chicken enchilada plate. It was delicious! I'm kind of snobbish when it comes to enchilada sauce, and Los Gallos' sauce hit the mark. Their chips and salsa were also on point. I was craving tacos and I decided to go Los Gallos Taqueria in the heart of downtown Lincoln . This is a small building it looks like a small house . Walking in it has a few tables to sit at with an authentic Mexican feel . I seen a Mexican cute calendar from the tienda next door. They gave us complementary chips and salsa . I ordered Tacos Al Pastor they were delicious. I ordered a Agua de Horchata but they also offer Coke products . Everyone was super nice and attentive. My kids love that they offer a kids menu . When done you go to the counter to pay for your bill it was easy and quick . Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back for some more Tacos ! read more

Nestled along F St you will find this little house which has been converted into a restaurant. It's tiny, with about six tables, tops! They've been here for decades and with the food always being so delicious, there are many loyal customers. We love and have tried almost every dish. It's your typical traditional Mexican fare. They also serve breakfast which we haven't tried. Their combination plates are always delicious and the portions are great. Their chimichanga is stuffed to the MAX with meat, beans, and rice. We stopped going to another favorite Mexican restaurant because they started to get too skimpy on everything. The complimentary chips and salsa is delicious too. The service is friendly and fast. We've seen people come in and place an order and walkout with their food in minutes. Overall, Los Gallos is one of our top choices for Mexican! read more

Al pastor tacos are the best I've ever had; better than anything in Santa Cruz or even Watsonville.

Small taqueria in town. Tortas Carnitas was ok except for the roll. It was like it was over microwaved. Edges hard and inedible got harder as it cooled. Burritos were ok, but girls did not gush over them. Server was having a bad day, or just was not friendly or thought mý Espanol was offensive... which it is... but I try. Kitchen tiles all torn up and kitchen cluttered. Seems like a family place so maybe things are tight after last years Covid shutdown? We will try somewhere else next time and watch to see if this improves. read more

The grilled chicken, carne asada & shredded beef were all flavored very well. The salsa on the tacos had a perfect kick of heat, not too spicy. Great food! Hot salsa was bomb! I got plate of mix meat protein and they were really good.

Sad to say that the food quality has gone downhill based on our last few orders. Carnitas were dry and chewy, seemed like leftovers from the previous day or so. The Al pastor meat in my burrito was also dry and was just a few tiny pieces without much flavor. Guacamole was thin and runny. Not good at all. We might go back in a few months to see if things improve, but for now we'll have to find a new favorite taqueria.... read more

Must haves included below. Lately, I've been eating 6-12 burritos from Los Gallos PER WEEK. This place is SO GOOD and deserving of its current 4.5/5 yelp rating. (I give it a 5) The burritos are PACKED with meat and delicious. They're not overly oily or greasy. High Value and they Taste DAMN GOOD! For those curious. I'd estimate 50g-55 of protein per carne asada burrito, 40-45g protein per carnitas burrito. Maybe ~25-30g protein in the chorizo and eggs burrito. I recommend getting the REGULAR burritos instead of super because you get more meat in the regular burritos. Currently, I eat 1-2 carnitas burritos per day (I get a carne aside or chorizo in addition when I only get 1 carnitas burrito). Be careful, they may be addicting for some. I get salsa on the side for pouring onto my burrito. Used to get 8oz on the side, now I get 12oz. Finally a nice Mexican restaurat where the prices have not gotten higher like most places these days. I know food costs go up and they gotta charge more, but paying $11 for burrito is a bit much. Here a standard burrito is around $6.50. The $5.00 burrito is long gone. This is a little place and the food is dang good. We got a wet burrito and a dry burrito with rice and beans.
