Nachos swamp style & a lemonade! My order since having been a student at Placer High School & has continued to be my go to. When you order the nachos, swamp style is the only way to go as it means the chips are served to you in a bag & the toppings are all within the to go container. Our go to for a quick dinner. Cheap and tasty. I usually go for a beef and bean super burrito. A few days ago we stopped in and I tried their chocolate shake for the first time! Not bad at all!! Also got a cheese quesadilla which was the perfect compliment to my burrito. Wife got super nachos, and I graciously helped her with those. Service was friendly and prompt, thanks to Ben Black!! Food has always been so good but the service has gotten so bad. Went there recently and the girl working the window was mean. I forgot to order an extra taco so i said "I'm so sorry, can i add a taco please?" Which was met with an eye roll, a heavy sigh and i felt so bad I apologized again. I've been eating Taco Tree for 30+ years and never had terrible service, until last week. The girl who took my order didn't even greet me back before she barked "for here or to go." Insert the typical gen Z stare until you're expected to just tell this robot human what you want. The woman who helped my husband was incredibly rude as well. He asked for more than two packets of hot sauce so then she proceeded to give him more hot sauce than any one human should consume in one sitting. This must be a miserable place to work or these employees just hate their jobs. Food is beyond mediocre. A step above taco bell, sure, but still not great. Bathroom is gross! There are so many other places to eat at in Auburn, skip this place. We won't be back, ever. read more

Was super bummed. A couple weeks ago, went through the drive through at about 10:45pm, 15 minutes before closing, there was a line. As I was ordering, i was told the quesadilla press wasn't working, which is fine, but in the background I heard, "it's already shut off" so i ordered 4 beef tacos, and I heard "are you f****** serious." I pull around, i hear the man in the car in front of me telling the ladies at the drive thru "I'm not trying to ruin your night." I pull up and am greeted by the gal at the window, I tell her "Hey, I'm not trying to be a d***, but you know we can hear everything in the background right?" She looked at me with a smile and a nice customer service face and said "Yes we know." And the other gal in the background said "get the f*** out of here" i received my food, and ate it, and it was good. But, was really bummed to be treated to oddly and terribly for coming to buy food late, I get it sucks, but it's what happens on the weekends. I don't plan on never coming back, but I figured it's worth someone knowing. read more

Taco Tree is by far one of the best "fast food" places I have ever gotten. The staff is quick and on point. They are friendly and I don't think I have ever gotten a messed up order, missing food or charged wrong like many places. It gives that small town family vibe and nostalgic feel of after the game grab a bite with the team or friends before hitting the town or drive ins. You know, back of the pick up, pull through Taco Tree feeling. Lol. I've been coming here since I was a teen and I'll keep coming here as long as they are open. I used to stay in Downtown Auburn and now drive up from Sacramento area just to get my Bean Super Nachos with xtra jalapeños swamp style. That's It, I'm heading up for lunch. Bye! read more

Please fire your red headed manager! Why would you be so nasty to someone who just place a $110 order?! There were at least 8 people in your kitchen. Two customers in the lobby and one car ahead of us in drive thru. For a quick service restaurant, a large order should never be an inconvenience. YOU ARE THERE TO MAKE MONEY. Do your job. If it's really gonna hold up your drive thru for too long, park us. This is the not the first time we've been treated like this. We are/ were, unfortunately, frequent customers. Taco Tree will always be one of my favorite spots to eat at in Auburn. It's always fresh ingredients at a great price. Service is awesome and quick. As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted by the staff at the counter, ready to take your order. Dine inside or out, it's always neat, tidy and clean. They drive thru moves swiftly also. I will always order their "Bun Taco" - soft warm hamburger bun, special sauce, amazing meat, lettuce and shredded cheese... so good. Taco Tree is an Auburn institution. I've been coming here for years and I must say that I don't deviate much from my favorites: vegetarian burrito and cinnamon crisps. Having the fountain drinks behind the counter is ridiculous. We had to wait in line to ask for refills from a staff that was very busy. There are no napkins out in the dining area, again only up by the cash register. Also, the manager (owner) yelling at her employees yesterday was very sad. They all looked like they were trying their hardest but she would yell about customers at the counter instead of just walking up and greeting them. In another example, I could hear her correct an employee on how to make a salad and she did a much nicer job sounding kind. I hope the employees feel happy working for this manager, but it sure didn't look like it. The food was perfect for the price paid, style akin to Taco Bell but much higher quality. The parking lot is terribly configured for their drive-through and a safety hazard. Be careful if you have little kids. read more
