El Cabriro is located in a rather nondescript strip mall and being in the cack of that strip mall, you would never notice this particular Mexican restaurant dribbling by the highway. If you do muss out on this place, it is your loss. Thanks to Yelp and the overall positive reviews, I was seeking out El Cabrito and I still drove by it, lol. Oh well, not a big deal and in no time, I was parked in their parking lot and walking in. I was seated and the overall ambiance was what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy, but that's okay. For me, I have always found the best Mexican food in these mom-and-pop, more humble type places. My server was friendly and I opted to go with one of the burritos. I believe that they called it their grande steak burrito. I enjoyed my burrito and for ten dollars, it was competitively priced. I would definitely recommend El Cabrito. read more

I would not want to come here again. The salsa was very watery and didn't have a good flavor. Also the refried beans tasted metallic, like they'd been sitting in aluminum foil or the bottom of the warmer. The "chihuahua" cheese also tasted a bit odd. Everything, except for the rice, just had this sort of off flavor about it. Also it was very dark and the lighting inside was harsh with cool tone spot lights shining right in my eyes. Yeah, no. The menus smelled like straight vomit, like they were wiped off with a rancid, sour rag, maybe? Wretched. I had the fish tacos and it was just fish on a flat tortilla. No lettuce, cheese, cabbage, sauce, or anything else that would make it a taco. But I did get 3 small cups of mystery liquid that I assume was to dip or pour over? No idea. I tasted one and it was extremely spicy and did not have a good flavor. My husband got a P5 Happy Plate and it had an odd taste. We should have left after the smelly menus. I've ate at Mexican Restaurants all over the US, including Texas. This is hands down the best I've ever had. I've ate here ATLEAST once a month for the past 12 years. The staff is amazing..I pretty much can walk in with them knowing what I want. Fransesico is an awesome waiter..my nephew has grown up with him and he's been his "lil buddy" from day one. The authentic dishes are amazing, and their Tex-Mex dishes for sure lean toward the Mex side. You won't be disappointed by giving them a taste. We stopped in on our way through town. The food was excellent- salsa super delicious! I had the Enchilada Supremas- kids both had the Happy Plate and my husband had the mixed fajitas. Eat at your own risk! This place is filthy. We walked in, stood waiting to be seated and at some point put my hand on the front desk. It was cruddy from apparently not being cleaned. We should have turned around then, but nooo. We had been wanting Mexican and decided to ignore the crud. When the waiter seated us, we noticed that the table was also caked with crud. It had not been cleaned either. We had to ask that the table be cleaned. That was our 2nd opportunity to just leave. Again, ignored the warning. We ordered our food and while waiting and chitchatting, a whole roach crawled along the edge of the table against the wall! That's when we jumped up and pointed it out to the manager(??). He said that they (the restaurant) had been there for 5 years and no one's ever complained. I told him that had to be a lie and that we will never come here again. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Florence! If the wife would allow I it I capsule eat here twice a week or more. The entire staff is super friendly my toddler loves coming here not only for the staff. But he actually loves the food which is great because if Yoo-hoo have a toddler you know how choosy the can be. They do have an "authentic dishes" menu, which is where I normally order from. I get the tacos al carbon with lettuce and shredded cheese. It also comes with other toppings (beans, red tomatillo sauce , and pico de Gallo). Let me tell you they have the best tomatillo sauce you can put on a taco. I will warn you though it's really spicy if you are not use to spicy food . You've been warned! This place is great for families and has the most reasonable prices out of all the Mexican restaurants in the area that I'm aware of. Of all the different Mexican Resturants I have tried in the Richland/Florence area this one is, by far, my favorite. It's not so much the prices or the food itself, because I have found most of them to be about the same, but rather it's the staff. I don't care how busy they are, they have always been very attentive to make sure we are doing okay and checking on our drinks. I also have a couple of picky eaters in my family and whenever we go there they always have special orders. The food always comes exactly as it was ordered. I can't say that about the others.
