Food is good but the whole business is really disorganized. Parking is awful with people often blocking each other in because they don't want to park on the street and walk. But by far the worst part is the ordering system. So far I've seen three variations: 1) Order at the counter and pay, then find a seat 2) Sit at any table, and someone will take your order 3) Order first and put your name down if you'd like a table Customers value consistency and all these changes make it hard to just come in and sit down for a meal. They were really busy today and the cashier just stared at us for 20 seconds instead of saying something like: "hi what can I get you?". When I asked how long the wait would be, he said he couldn't give us any estimate. Would I be waiting for 10 minutes or an hour? I never found out because we decided to order to-go. I know people like to give small business extra slack but there's no excuse to be rude to customers and operate in complete disarray. My experience at El Cabrito was less than subpar. Firstly the restaurant is all over the place. We have the supplies are in the front of the restaurant all messy. I tried sitting at one table and it was sticky, I went to another and it was still sticky. I saw the floor was dirty. Once I had placed my order, the service was very short and direct. No efforts made to be friendly. Once I received my food, it was not too bad, unlike everything else. I understand the small space results in a more modular restaurant layout, however some things are best kept more organized and presentable. I would not return to El Cabrito. read more

On Sunday 6/22 we went to buy 3 lbs. of birria, we were told it came with onions, cilatro, lemons, salsa & consomé. We ordered 3 dozens of tortillas. Our total almost $80. The birria is really good. When we got to our car, I saw 3 little salsas! I told my hubby, can you buy some more salsa. He went back inside, they charged him $6.00 for 3 little salsas. We don't mind. But when we got home, we noticed the salsas were different. If we bought birria, we supposed to get salsa made for it right?? But no! They gave us salsa de tomatillo. Best birria i've ever had, it's a super mom and pop place and that's what I love the most about it. Besides the amazing Jalisco style birria i got the "grande" order or large it came with rice and beans freshly made tortillas! They give you Chile, lemons, onions, to add to your food. CASH ONLY however they do have an ATM machine inside. You can even bring your own pot if you just want to take it home and eat. If you want to avoid the $2 transaction fee, better to bring your own. Speaking Spanish will probably enhance your experience there, but if you don't, I wouldn't let it deter from the amazing food you'll be eating. I ordered a carne asada sope and a plate of chilaquiles. The sope was great, and for around $2, it's a good price. The salsa is fresh and flavorful and it's served with fresh radishes and lemons too. The chilaquiles were AMAZING. For a little over $6, you'll get freshly made chilaquiles covered (but not soaking) in their sauce. It comes with 4 fresh tortillas as well. It was a little too much food, but I'm excited for the leftovers! The service is great. The lady that served me was very sweet and made sure that the food was cooked how I wanted it.
