We stopped here for dinner after an event in Maysville. The ambiance was typical small town Mexican restaurant, which I love, meaning good personal service and delicious food. The menu was loaded with choices, even meatless for Good Friday fasting. Our server was with us very quickly and took good care of us throughout our meals. I ordered the Seafood Chimmi and my wife ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla. My meal came with beans and salad, my wife's meal came with salad only. We both took home the leftovers. My beer, Pacifico draft, arrived in a frozen mug and the beer was exceptionally cold. I loved it. My wife had a lime Margarita on the rocks and she said it was very good. The chips were warm when they arrived and their salsa was excellent. I asked for an order of Jalapeños, the pickled kind from the can, and they showed up to the table pronto! We were really glad that we chose this restaurant for dinner with many other choices in this small town, and the prices were reasonable as well. Next time we find ourselves in this town we will likely choose this place if in the mood for Mexican food. Nice job to all the staff for a good experience here. read more

Had the beef chimichanga (fried) as takeout, came as part of a platter with refried beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, seasoned rice, lettuce, tomato. Pretty nice for like thirteen bucks. I had to go back.. OMG!! I gotta do another review for this place. The Fajitas Texanas was fabulous. Today I had deep fried chicken chimichanga and tacos Al pastor!! I also asked for a hot salsa I heard about.. I'm saving the best for last on this on. The chimichanga was stuff with juicy shredded chicken. It was cooked to perfection. It was delicious plain, but when I dropped a little spicy salsa, and dabbed it in some sour cream and guacamole.... Lawd.... I'm not done. Even the chips and salsa are tasty!! The tacos Al pastor.. oh me oh my!! take special notice in the pic of the tacos.... Grilled pineapple. YES!!! Grilled pineapple. And just the right amount. They tacos were not sweet, but you get an occasional burst of juicy pineapple. It just goes perfect with the fresh onion and cilantro. I ate one with no salsa.. and one with their spicy salsa. It don't matter!!! Both were great. And that unexpected burst of pineapple just does something!! I live in TX, and this place is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The food is absolutely delicious, with plenty of the freshest ingredients. The service was excellent; if your table runs out of chips or salsa, they are almost immediately replaced. So my wife and I decided that we would just do some adventuring today and in the process we wanted to find something to eat. (Always good to find new places to eat that you haven't been to before.) So we walked in and sat down. We waited about 5 minutes before we got our drink order and then by the time we got our menus it took us 10 minutes to figure out what we wanted and then we ordered. It was no more than 10 minutes after we ordered that we got our food. The chips and salsa were good and the chips were hot and fresh. The place was busy when we walked in as well as the environment was great and the establishment was very clean. I'm giving this a 5 star because the food was delicious, and the portions of food are worth the price. I Highly Recommend this Mexican restaurant, you won't be disappointed!! read more

Has more traditional Mexican fare including grilled tacos which are more like the street tacos I like. Great pork, chorizo, and seasoned chicken. The food is to die for! Every time hubby and I come, we try something different. And in 3 months, we have loved everything we have chosen. Each dish is made to order. The chips and salsa are fabulous too. You will be greeted at the door with a smile and hello. And from there on your every need is met. These guys and gals could teach the art of customer service. The food is ok. The carnitas the first time I tried them were great but the next time they were pretty bland. Guacamole here is fantastic though. Also, even though the $1 margarita night sounds good, pretty sure they water them down to spread them further. They were SO weak and not very flavorful. Part of what I like about Mexican restaurants is the atmosphere. I like the colorful, hand-carved wood furniture and some upbeat Mariachi music in the background. This restaurant had none of that. The food was weak. One of my favorite dishes is Chile Rellenos. So I always have to ask how the make them. I asked if it was a Poblano chile stuffed with cheese and dipped in a batter and fried. The waitress didn't even know what a Chile Relleno was and a nice gentleman came from the kitchen and confirmed what I had described is what they serve. My Rellenos came out wrapped in a corn tortilla, not in the egg and flour batter that they are supposed to be in. The hot salsa was not good. Normally a good Mexican restaurant will offer a salsa roja which is a red salsa made with chile de arbol chile and tomotillos or a green salsa made with green chile, tomotillos and avocado. They served a watery sauce that tasted like that cheap Caliente brand that you can buy at the grocery. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat here. I'm just saying I've had a lot better at just about every Mexican restaurant I've been to. read more

Very clean and fresh authentic mexican. This is the only place ive been to in KY that reminds me of the mexican food we took for granted in CA. Salsa was homemade and fresh, always a good sign. Jarritos sodas and mexican beer is a nice touch. Its a couple blocks from that dirty hole Pasquale's - 4.5 stars people, really?? One start is even being nice. Horrible experience! I order chicken which did not taste like chicken and it did not look like it. It was either expired chicken or something else. I had told the waiter and he just laughed at me and immediately told the whole kitchen staff and they all laughed. That is not a way to treat your customers. Horrible customer service!
