    Squid and Black Risotto! Fantastic!

Dinner @ 9P 6/24. Wonderful tapas at El Camino! Lovely atmosphere with prompt seating. Outstanding service by two ladies that were warm, friendly and prompt. Great Sangria too! We enjoyed the squid, grilled octopus, Asparagus and Duck dishes. All were great! It's a pleasure to give El Camino 5 stars!

Free (delicious) seafood tapa with my glass of Tempranillo.

What a great find! I stopped in during their happy hour (17-19:00) and was amazed by the special - a FREE TAPA with a glass of wine?! Yes please! I had two glasses of Tempranillo and two tapas for 8 euro. It really doesn't get much better than that. The service was excellent, and they have a quaint outdoor seating area to watch the world go by. To top it all off, the menu is in English and Spanish, which was helpful for me as an English-speaking visitor to BCN.

Wow.. I wasn't expecting too much since other high rated restaurants were okay. This place had limited number of dishes but they were all good.

Since his place is relatively new, it was not mobbed yet. My friend's had eaten here the night before and thought it was so good they wanted to return and invited me. The music was at the perfect volume and soothing . Service was outstanding. We started at the bar when it opened at 8pm and then moved to a table after a glass of wine. They offered me three choices of white. The Alberino was refreshing. We reviewed the menu which was on a clipboard. The one-page menu was translated in numerous languages. It was good to see English! Once at the table we ordered many tapas to share to be followed by the seafood paella and grilled king prawns. Oysters were 3 for 9€ (or 12 for 25 € ) and included a glass of cava. They were from Normandy and very tasty. They were served with wedges of fresh cut lemon. The jamon Iberia with its deep color and salty deliciousness. It came out in slices and the tomato bread was perfect. The bread was grilled, crusty, and warm. The Jamon was out of this world. Top quality. Tuna Tataki was so fresh and gaspacho on the bottom complimented it OMG the pork belly tapa stole the show!! My friend's had had this the night before. Three thick slices of warm pork on the amazing crusty warm bread with some cucumber. But this one only came two pieces to an order. :( The scallop tapa came three to an order and each scallop sat on a bed "nest" of very thin noodles. For dessert, my two friends both got the Panna cotta. I could not decide between two and he waiter recommended the lemon tart, one of my choices. Wow! Not much to look at but so yummy! The lemon flavor came through and I bit into pieces of lemon zest. I would get this again. We ended with a glass of liquor that was delicious.

Popped in around 2:30 before siesta time. Shared the rib eye and potatoes with the hubby and ordered some extra grilled veggies. All were tasty! Had two glasses of cava too! I'm not gonna lie, tapas weren't filling me up enough during my trip but this place gave me the meal I've been needing to refuel. I wish I knew about this place earlier. I think they have a lunch special with an appetizer, entre, dessert, and wine for only 15 euros. So cheap for big portions!

This place was only a few steps from our hotel and we decided to trust the Google and Yelp reviews! My husband was craving for steak and I for tapas. We ordered 3 tapas (sizzling grilled chicken wings, bread with tomato and olive oil and black risotto with grilled squid), 1 striploin steak (17oz) to share and panna cotta for dessert...all were more than enough! My favourite had to be the black risotto with the squid cooked perfectly, my hubby enjoyed his steak but slightly under seasoned, side of salad was very refreshing. They even gave us a hot stone option in case we wanted our steak a bit more done, which we took. Grilled chicken wings were on a sizzling plate which was also tasty and savoury but nothing out of the ordinary. The panna cotta was delicious and dainty, must try! Bill came up to 52€ (with 1 beer+2 water). Ambiance was rustic and not too busy at 8p. Will be going back to try their other tapas and would definitely recommend! ***UPDATE: Came back the next night for our last dinner in Barcelona. Once again El Camino did not disappoint! This time we ordered the duck, grilled pork ribs and their seasonal special artichoke hearts. My fave that night would have to be the artichoke, it was grilled perfectly and the tuna and anchovy mayo/aioli with it was delightful. My hubby's fave out of all the tapas was the duck. Overall, I loved this place out of all the restaurants we went to in Barcelona. The servers were also very nice and were happy we came back the 2nd night--we were actually surprised they remembered us! Good job El Camino!

So happy to have Yelp reviews to guide me and in this case it totally steered me correctly. This place is delicious. They have great Spanish rose wine selection and wonderful tapas that are Spanish fusion. I had the pork belly toast as my starter and I was so happy with the flavours. Their tapas are fresh and very well priced. We ordered shrimp and veal as a shared meal and we were so happy with our meal. The service is very friendly and they are very accommodating. They also have a lovely kids menu with delicious offerings that satiated the little girl in our dinner group. Nice layout for a big group and when we got the bill we were very pleased how relatively cheap it was compared to what we would have paid in Canada. Highly recommend this place. It will not disappoint.

Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! Staff I'm everywhere so it was very easy to order more food. Also we were sitting buy the area where they made dessert and they allowed me to record them making it!! Comfortable ambiance great for date night or casual meals!!!

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

The menu has a nice variety of items, and they're all pretty small so you can try a lot. Our favorite was the squid sandwich, a super unique must get! We also really liked the garlic shrimp, which had a nice fragrant flavor from the heads. The tiramisu was also delightful with a nice balance of sweet and bitter flavors. We heard the razor clams were really good, but they didn't have any the day we visited which was a bummer!
