We ate a Taller de Tapas several times during our stay in Barcelona. Twice at the L'Eixample location. Our first visit was after a morning of exploring and we were ready for some tapas and drinks. Our waiter, Oscar, took great care of us and his service was great. The food is good and you know what to expect when you visit one of their locations. Good ingredients and good service. I visited Taller de Tapas on Rambla de Catalunya for dinner during my August 2024 trip to Barcelona, the location is good and I was also impressed by the menu online which had a filter for all major allergens and an English language option. The staff were friendly and spoke good English to communicate, I could make a table reservation at very short notice on their online website. It is a little pricey and it can add up when ordering multiple dishes. I decided to opt for three dishes. 1. Sizzling chorizos cooked in cava This was my favourite of the three dishes, the generous thick chunks of chorizo were so tasty, especially with the cava, the meat was cooked perfectly, fresh and good quality and was some of the best chorizo I've had in my life. 2. Potatoes Bravas The potatoes were cooked well, and the sauces were nice, they were described as spicy but I didn't get that, although I did still enjoy them. 3. Fried egg & chips with cured Iberian ham Probably my least favourite of the dishes, and I wish I had ordered more of the Bravas, the chips were ordinary and I've had better or similar quality at a fast food joint, although the eggs were cooked well with a generous double yoke, I did find the ham to be a little chewy but the intense smokey flavour went well with the rest of the plate. A guest on my table ordered the Iberian Burger as a main and was pleased with it. For drinks, I went for the sangria with cava, I asked my waiter which sangria was best and he told me he preferred this one, but it was again just OK for me, I've certainly had better from other Spanish restaurants even back home in the UK, but it was the best drink to go with the tapas for an authentic experience for sure. Overall, my experience was good and I would return on future visits to Barcelona, even if it is just for the chorizo! 4* read more

Taller de Tapas was just across the street from the apartment we were renting and Omg...what an amazing find!!! My husband and I brought our 7month old daughter to eat a later dinner at the terrace and we had an amazing experience. Aitor was our waiter and he was so kind and friendly!! He was very attentive and I think our baby girl loved him!! The people watching on the terrace cannot be beat and the prices are very affordable especially for a place on las ramblas. Some of my favorite include the patatas bravas, hamburguesa de la Kate, Montadito con jamon and the pimientos de patron!! Some of the meh included the tortilla de patatas and bomba con carne. Gayle and I dined at a Taller de Tapas in the Born the last time we were in Barcelona in 2017. This time around (in June 2022) we were walking the upper (and quieter) part of La Rambla looking for Lunch. It was a warm and sunny day, so finding a table in the shade was important. Gayle had also been told that any restaurant that showed pictures of their food was suspect. I don't know whether that's true, but it did take a number of places out of contention. We finally arrived at a nice looking place, but with only tables in the Sun. As we usually do, we looked to find where the home restaurant was located and it turned out to be Taller de Tapas. We then wandered over the the "brick and mortar", looked inside and spotted a nice place to sit by the bar, and settled in. When I first started writing reviews, I often wondered why folks at the next table were taking pictures of their food. Now I'm one of those people, and with the hypocrisy of not trusting the same dish pictured by the restaurant. This time around at Taller de Tapas, I simply forgot to take any photos. Maybe it was because Gayle and I were having such a great time, our choices were so good, and they were gone faster than we could pull our iphones out. And the service was stellar! Same as it Ever Was! Note - I don't put a lot of nuance into a food-related review and tend to also look at service, atmosphere, and fellowship as a whole. So I understand a lower star review from someone who as a different food focus. The food was really good. I got the Kate's special which was a burger but it was really good; heavy too. My partner had the seafood skillet which was really good too. The absolute worst service imaginable. After asking about our order two times, it finally arrived after asking again, 30 minutes after the initial request. And they were only taco tapas. This is where we had our first meal in Barcelona and we were not disappointed! We got the shrimp with garlic, seafood paella, Iberico ham, grilled squid, salad, roasted vegetables with anchovies, salted cod fritters, some bread with tomato, and grilled Iberico pork. We ordered an appetizer dish that came with a variety of tapas. It consisted of delicious bread, ham, hummus, tortilla and olives. This was the perfect amount of food for 2 people. Bread and ham combination was absolutely delicious. The ham was slightly salted, full of flavor and shaved very thin. Another exceptional component to the platter was the hummus. It was rich and had a very nutty flavor that really went well with the toasted bread. Overall it was a great experience, but the prices seemed a little high for the quality of food. My wife and I came here to try what we thought is authentic Spanish paella. We were very mistaken. I got the vegetarian paella with chicken added, my wife got the traditional seafood paella. The seafood paella was dry, overly salty, and not very good at all. The clams left a terrible taste. Rice was very hard, again not tasty at all. My vegetarian paella with chicken was not good either. I got 3 small pieces of chicken that were mostly soft and squishy meat, almost like the meat around the joints. The rice was also hard and lacked flavor. The veggies were there but no flavor came from them. I saw tomatoes, peppers, onions, and mushrooms but neither gave any distinct taste. Avoid it if you want paella. We also both had here burn afterwards, the first time we experienced this after 6 days of eating and drinking in Europe. read more
