The calamari was fresh and the wings were pure heaven. The wings were great! The wings had a really good sauce which I can't even explain. The sauce was a toss between a honey garlic and curry. The wings were finger licking good. To end the meal I had the cod fish for an entree. The cod fish was delicious. The cod was light and fluffy and had the most amazing grilled vegetables I have ever tasted. The grilled vegetables were succulent, tender and flavorful. So we arrive to Barcelona and both my nephew and I were starving so he found this place on Yelp and the reviews looked favorable. We walked in and the guy seemed pleasant, but he seemed more interested in speaking to one of the staff members then attending us. These people were so kind. They were booked, and we didn't have a reservation. They had outdoor seating, so we asked to sit outside even though it was quite cold out. My favorite place to visit when i'm in Spain. The food is great and the atmosphere is cozy and homey. Not pretentious. I love how it is super casual and it is not far from the main areas where most people walk to when visiting Spain and exploring the area. I highly recommend this little gem. But make sure you make reservations prior to arriving otherwise you sometimes wait a little bit for a table. You can eat inside which is small and cozy or outside with more room to park your stroller if you have a baby. Both are great options if it is not cold or raining outside. read more

Extremely racist anti-Black treatment from 2 of the staff members tonight, and one of those was a Black woman. It was pathetic. I stood at the entrance and wasn't even acknowledged as the two who treated me like a second class citizen by ignoring me just laughed with each other. Then minutes later they both grinned and acted polite with white customers. There was a middle aged Black male waiter who treated me kind after he saw that I was being ignored by the two rude waiters. Then after the incident of being blatantly ignored, the younger male waiter rudely asked me to move to another table so he could use the space to seat 3 white women. It was by far the worst and most blatantly treatment that I have received in Barcelona, and I won't be shy about telling people about this. It was great that they have English on the menu. So I just got to point on the menu. I picked the dish which has asparagus wi squid and beans. I was just curious how it would tasted like. The outside terrace was very relaxing; with enough tables providing seating though the space feels cozy and intimate. We started with mini organic beef burgers with foie, batter-fried calamari, and peppers from Padron. The peppers were delicious, a great mix of hot and not, and the beef was juicy and the perfect sampling size. The calamari was fried to golden-brown, crispy outside, tender inside. Portions were perfect for sharing, so we ordered a variety of entrees to split between us. The cod with tomatoes, capers, jilts and rosemary oil was incredible, and the mix of the fish with the peppery capers and woodsy rosemary was spot on. "Dashed" fried eggs with homemade chips, foie and PX was probably the best-tasting egg dish I've had in Spain! My favorite dish was the mussels with coconut, chili and coriander, because the combination of flavors played off one another and really sparked my taste buds. I couldn't get enough of it. She enjoyed the tender Iberian pork cheek with straw potatoes, as the meat was succulent and well-seasoned. I didn't think it could get any better, but then we got to dessert. The 70% Cacao chocolate mousse was decadent, while the black chocolate brownie was rich and the cinnamon ice cream added the right about of spice and coolness. A big hit! read more

So there we were, probably the only two girls in all of Barcelona named Sharon sitting at a table at Tantarantana's front terrace. On probably the hottest day of the summer, this shady spot was pleasant, and relatively quiet... the perfect place for a mid-day bite. Now the restaurant is a narrow strip extending the length of the block, with an upstairs dining area, and patio seating in both the front and the back. We both got the mini hamburguesas - which are nothing like "sliders" for you american readers. an order of this appetizer/small plate is 2 strips of "pan de coca", and 4 mini burgers set atop a bed of grilled onions (2 burgers on each strip of "coca"). Dotted with dollops of tapenade and mayo - this dish was quite savory. I really liked that toasted "pan de coca". prices seemed fair on the rest of the menu - with most items between 8 & 12 euros. Sooooooo Full!!!! Finally found our go to spot for tapas! We were here with my girlfriend a few times during our trip to Barcelona. We found the place on Yelp the day of and decided to give it a try. The food was beyond wonderful! We had the potatoes with spicy sauce, the crouqettes, the fried fish, as well as the mini burger. The spicy potatoes were definitely the favourite, along with the fried fish (definitely use the lemon wedge provider for the fish) For drinks, we had Sangrias, which were also really wonderful and really flavorful! The price of the food is very average for each tapa, but it can definitely add up with each tapa you order. Overall though, the price is well worth the food that you receive! Definitely grab a seat on the terrace, however keep in mind that places in Barcelona do charge 10% extra for sitting at their terrace, but to be honest, why not have a wonderful view of the beautiful Barcelona streets as you enjoy your Tapas and drinks! I stumbled upon this place via Yelp (while looking for a tapas spot in the area) and it ended in being one of the greatest food discoveries during my visit to Barcelona. We ordered the spicy potatoes, mushroom croquette, anchovies, calamari, and mushroom risotto. As mentioned in many reviews here, the potatoes were a standout - and the risotto was some of the best I've ever had. went here with family and everything that we ordered was disappointing considering the great reviews this place has. the flavors and textures of everything were so off. calamari had bad flavor and was overly chewy, the potatoes were mushy and the tomato was overpowering. the burrata tasted expired and basically gave my sister food poisoning. the ravioli was ok but the filling had a dry crumbly texture. the only thing everybody liked was the ham app. yikes read more
