So I went here for Dr. Emily Tovar, (who unfortunately moved out of the Bay Area ) but I stayed for Dr. Lin and Dr. Zhao. First, about Dr. Lin: I was seriously considering Invisalign but Dr. Lin spoke to me in detail re: my priorities which ultimately led to me not doing it since I was mostly happy with my teeth and they were pretty straight to begin with. I appreciated the thoughtfulness and honesty. He is very kind and funny and all around a great doctor and person. Dr. Zhao: she is lovely and has such gentle hands! I appreciate her workmanship and attention to detail. Yang and Jessica are amazing too. They are both great with kids too. I moved to Mountain View last year from the East Bay and was looking for a dental office closer to home. I'm glad I found El Camino Dental! All the staff members are great! I came in today and Sue helped me out with the forms. Jessica set me up with the x-rays and was very nice. I was lowkey really tired after a long work week and was about to fall asleep getting my x-rays taken. Dr. Huang is great! She's very gentle and also explained what she was doing, which I never experienced before and it made it less nerve-wracking. I rarely have issues with my teeth but it's always slightly scary sometimes when you have no idea what's going on. I get nervous since my mom was concerned about my teeth when I was growing up because they were small, I also used to get a lot of cavities too, but my pediatric dentist told me I'd end up with straight and nice teeth without much crowding. Nonetheless, I still get scared something is going to be wrong. Dr. Huang was very comforting and asked questions about me, letting me know my teeth were in great condition! Wonderful practice and great dentists! I've been coming here for many years and now bring all my kids. The staff are all friendly and helpful, especially Sue, the front office, is great! Accidentally cracked my wisdom tooth after eating popcorn. I called Sue (pt care coord) and she was able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment with Dr Zhang. Since I've been planning to remove my wisdom tooth, she gave me the option to do it that day. Dr Zhang, and Jessica (dental asst) made it as comfortable as possible and it was a successful extraction. My crown next to the wisdom tooth was fully in tact despite the risks of damage during an extraction. They were gentle and kept me informed during the procedure. Sue and Yang (dental asst) made sure I was well informed of the procedure, costs and after care. I was in and out in approximately an hour. I've always had great experiences at El Camino Dental! Even after moving to Boston, I make it a point to visit this office whenever I'm in town. I don't mind driving over an hour from Berkeley to Mountain View because it's hard to find a dentist I trust as much as Dr. Zhang and her team. During a recent visit, I needed retainers on really short notice. Dr. Zhang had them rush the order and it was ready for me the very next day. It really impressed me how quickly they were able to accommodate me, and it shows how much they care about their patients. Side note: I never liked taking impressions but Yang was so skilled at it, it didn't make me gag at all. I also never fully understood what exactly my insurance covers and it's always a hassle to go back and forth checking my benefits but Sue was able to explain it to me clearly. She also filed the claim on my behalf too! You can tell they have a strong team effort between the doctor and the assistants. I have been fortunate to get good dental care, oral surgery, orthodontia, crowns, and chipped enamel repair over the years, but unfortunately, it has come at an unreasonable cost from some dental offices. I've also been subjected to repeated upselling of services that I didn't need (according to a family friend who is a periodontist). All of the downsides I experienced were put behind me when I followed a friend's advice and went to El Camino Dental in Mountain View. I would like to recommend to anyone that they try out El Camino Dental for themselves! My first visit was with Dr. Huang, to fix a chipped front tooth. I was greeted and made comfortable upon arrival (this has been an every time nice experience there!). Dr. Huang was very nice, gentle, and she quickly took care of my problem and did a wonderful job! All this, for much less than the price quoted by my previous dental office! Other work I have had done here with Dr. Lin (in addition to regular cleanings), included fixing a broken crown and replacing an old iron crown, which represented a health risk, with a new ceramic crown. Dr. Lin was very patient with me as he expertly did my work and then did it perfectly. I was so pleased with him! This is hands down the best dental clinic I have been to and believe me, I have been to a lot of dental clinics in my life. Not only is it the most affordable, but the staff here are very friendly and make me feel welcome every time I come to visit. Everything from the technical procedure to the quality of service was great and it all came at a very reasonable price point. Wisdom Teeth Removal: I needed to get two upper wisdom teeth removed and although I do not like dental procedures, this one was relatively painless and was over with before I even realised. Dr. Lin was my dentist and he was extremely comforting and fun to talk to during my visits. I can tell that he also cares about his patients a lot by the way he asked if I felt any discomfort during the procedure, which I did not. Retainer: I also got my retainers done here because they offered the cheapest retainers out of all the dental clinics I visited. The retainers came back within a week or so and the quality of the retainers are very durable. I am very happy with the clean cut that this clinic was able to achieve for my mouth. There is really no other clinic in the Bay Area that can produce such quality retainers at this price so if you need to get retainers done, get them done here! Price: With the consultation, x-ray scans, teeth cleaning, wisdom teeth removal, and antibiotics, I only had to pay a very low price and the retainers also came at a very reasonable price. My insurance (Delta) also covered a lot of the expenses. When the billing came, I was shocked to see that they only charged me a third of what I would have been charged at many other clinics. From the way I see how the medical staff engages with their clients, I can tell that everyone the doctors, assistants, and front desk truly cares about their clients. So I finally found a new dentist and found out El Camino Dental didn't bother to tell me that I have a filling that was falling apart. The new dentist took photos and showed me; it was very obvious that my filling has been falling apart for some time, and the new dentist said there is no way my previous dentist could not have seen the signs that it was coming apart in my previous appointment with El Camino. We have consistently found Dr. Lin to be very warm, friendly, kind, caring, and gentle. One of the things we've most appreciated about him is his honesty. Not only has he never tried to upsell us on anything unnecessary, but also, he's always taken the time to listen to our concerns, has shown tremendous sensitivity, and has only ever prescribed options that align with our preferences for minimal treatment. I always feared going to the Dentist until I met Dr. Lin. He fostered immense trust and allowed us to feel like we were visiting a friend, every time we went in. His Staff members are the icing on the cake. We have always been treated with a genuinely warm welcome and immense care, and the Staff at El Camino Dental has consistently made us feel through their check-in of our personal ongoings that we were their only patients. More recently, when I accidentally broke a molar, I reached out to Dr. Lin in a state of panic. Worse, my husband and I had made the switch to another Insurance Plan a couple of months prior, because we were moving out of the Bay Area. A visit to my new Dentist in this situation left me feeling mistrustful. Dr. Lin not only graciously agreed to see me for a second opinion that same day, but also, gave me very sound advice on my options, weighing the longer-term impact/discomfort. He pays attention to details, does the job very well, and is looking out for the patient when it comes to saving money - unlike other dentists I've been to, he doesn't try to upsell you services that's most likely not needed. I have been going to El Camino Dental for 2 years now. Dr.Lin is one of the best doctors I've seen - he is so responsible, attention to detail, nice, and patient. I've done my regular teeth cleaning, invisalign, as well as other teeth treatment. I also just completed my Invisalign treatment now. The whole treatment (1.2 years) has been amazing. Check in with adjustment every 3-4 weeks in my case. Dr. Lin was very strict on the teeth result and asked to order another set (required taking teeth mould again) towards the end of my treatment so that the teeth will be more perfect. He totally did not have to as this would take more of efforts without any additional charge to me. This just speaks to how he is as a doctor. Amazing ethics as a true doctor. And Yang (dental assistant) has also been amazing throughout the invisalign treatment. The price of invisalign is very reasonable for the whole treatment (fixed fee). El Camino Dental discovered I actually had more dental coverage (due to my change of insurance, although it was both called Delta Dental but different states), and helped me save another 1000+ dollars!!!
