Steak ranchero
Teresa D.

The food was not the freshest. I ordered the Special Combination which comes with Bean tostada, chile relleno, enchilada, beef taco, burrito, Mexican rice and refried beans. My hubby ordered the Steak Ranchero. The taco shell was stale. Chile Relleno was a 1/2 bell pepper with hamburger meat topped with cheese Hubby's steak ranchero tasted old. The best thing about the meal was our ice teas. Service was much to be desired. Our server returned when we were almost done eating. The place wasn't even packed. Brought drink refills with the check???

Came here for lunch around 1pm it was a little busy we got seated in wasn't a wait at all. The food was really good I had the nacho fully loaded and my friend has the fajitas wrap it was tasty and good portion. I think in all place of Mexican restaurant not a lot of them have camphechana seafood and ceviche seafood they all have shrimp ceviche in some restaurants. Service was good. No complaint. Ambience is like any Mexican restaurant.

The best thing about this location are the chips and salsa and the margaritas. The food was decent. We got the mole enchiladas and taquitos. The Mexican rice was really good. Unfortunately later that night, we were both pretty sick. When you walk into the restaurant you are quickly seated and served. The menu is extensive and there is a lot of seating throughout. I've eaten at other locations and did not run into the same issues

Came thru today on cinco de Mayo to grab takeout - they were so busy but you wouldn't know it by the service. I came in to order, and had my food before I knew it.

I was hungry for Mexican food and wanted to try somewhere new. I opted for el Campesino which seemed like a solid choice. Depending on your preference el Campesino would either be great or not your cup of tea. If you're looking for fast, inexpensive, American knock-off of Mexican cuisine then this is a great restaurant. They were very fast. My whole dining experience could have been completed in thirty minutes or less. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant then no, this isn't it. I ordered the beef tacos because I like tacos. One bite the taco shell shattered like broken glass. The second taco didn't last that long because once it was picked up the bottom gave way like one of those taco shell commercials. Just plop! And gone. Everything was rather typical and nothing stood out. The service was the best part. Our waitress was a hummingbird in human form moving incredibly fast and always working. She executed with top notch efficiency often dropping off items in mid-motion. The only time she stopped was to take our order but even then it was brief and temporary. It was inexpensive. It was fast. It was forgettable.

El Campesino rules. It's always fast and it's always good. The staff are friendly and efficient. I put it above any other local or regional Mexican or similar chains. Salsa is fantastic, and they have queso blanco. Never had a bad experience.

My favorite Mexican restaurant never misses!!! I've been eating here pretty regularly for most of my life and it only gets better each visit!

a bowl of chips and a bowl of salsa

El Campesino is expensive and they give you small portions. Every meal comes with chips and salsa. I ordered cheese sauce to go with it. HUGE MISTAKE. $10.50 for cheese sauce. Had I known it cost that much, I would have never ordered it. That's total insanity and it's easily the most expensive cheese sauce I've ever eaten. And if you want more chips, it's $1.50 extra. I got the combo with one taco, one burrito and one enchilada. All were small, taco bell style portions. I ate all three and was still hungry. The sauce they use is thin and they don't give you a lot of it and they only use white cheese with no cheddar or nacho cheese. This really brings down the flavor. It did not come with Mexican rice, so I had to order that ala carte. It was fine, but nothing special. I will not be going back to El Campesino. Chili's and Emilianos are the same price or cheaper and you won't be leaving hungry.

El Campesino is a frequent stop for me! The staff is ALWAYS welcoming, friendly and efficient. The prices did increase a bit recently but that's everywhere. I tried the shrimp tacos on this visit and they were delicious! It's always busy,, but the ambiance is fun. I will be back!

Ceviche

Okay, I wish I had more photos but as you read my reviews, you'll learn I see the food and begin eating. The ceviche, I was expecting a small portion and no flavor. Wrong. Large portion, fresh, and flavorful. I ordered tamales, many places do not sell tamales. So good. I ordered other items including the Mexican sodas. Get the soda!!! If you drink, I didn't try the margarita (next time) but they looked amazing. The food was really good. I enjoyed it and I'll be back. Oh and our server, Juan, he was such a nice person and excellent server. His smile was infectious

Service was extremely slow. It was polite though. Food was just so-so, not bad but not worth saying that I have to come back.

Service was great, but everything was too salty and there were barely any vegetables with too much meat. Did not feel like it was real food.

Trivia and live music are sometimes available for entertainment. In the past few years, my husband and I have eaten at Wheelfish a few times. For our meals, the hostess and waitress promptly and politely served us. Here are my reviews for the foods: Pretzel bites - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was a large size. We really liked the flavor of the pretzels and the honey-mustard dip. We thought that the cheese dip was OK. Pulled-pork nachos - 5 stars - This appetizer of nachos was huge! Many tortilla chips were topped with gooey cheese, pulled pork, jalapeños, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Fried deviled eggs - 4 stars - The egg white was breaded and fried. It contained a yolk filling and was topped with a spicy jalapeño. We prefer traditional deviled eggs, but these ones tasted good. Mix-and-match soft tacos - 4.5 stars - The pulled-pork taco contained pulled pork and vegetable toppings that were very flavorful. For the brisket taco, I enjoyed the flavor of the brisket and toppings, but the juices made the tortilla soggy and caused it to fall apart. Shrimp tacos - 4.5 stars - These were on sale on a Thursday. The shrimp were breaded, and the toppings of napa slaw, mango salsa, and chipotle aioli tasted very good. Meat entrees - 4.5 stars - My husband liked the smoked chicken the most (5 stars), and he described it as being "delicious." We also ate ribs (4.5 stars), kielbasa (4 stars), brisket (5 stars), salmon (4 stars, needs more seasoning), and pulled pork (4.5 stars). Macaroni and cheese - 5 stars - My husband said that this macaroni was the cheesiest thing that he has ever eaten. He described it as "delicious." I ate some of the macaroni, and I agree that it was extremely cheesy. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Grilled vegetables - 4.5 stars - I wanted to make my meals more nutritious, so I chose a side of grilled vegetables, which are seasonal and included peppers, corn, squash, and zucchini. This mix of veggies had a very good flavor. Side salad - 4 stars - This salad contained a lettuce mix, some tomatoes, some pickled onions, and my choice of dressing. It was fresh but was slightly plain. Pork 'n beans - 3 stars - My husband ordered this side. He ate only a small amount of the beans and sauce, and he thought that they tasted just OK. For drinks, we had iced tea, diet Pepsi, and water. The waitresses brought refills.

Amazing platters. The ribs and smoked chicken were 10/10. The nachos were great. Love the cooler of…read moreseltzers. Can't wait to go back! Very gluten free friendly.
