Spaghetti Pomodoro

We had a decent Christmas dinner here and easily made our reservation on open table ahead of time. The server was prompt. My wine glass was looking a bit not so clean but beggars can't be choosers when this is the only game in town open for Christmas which we appreciated having traveled to see a game for the day. I had the chicken parm and subbed out the spaghetti for rigatoni (rigatoni perfect) one of my daughters got the pasta bravo she enjoyed it - the other got a cheese pizza it was underdone but edible. My husband got plain spaghetti and it was fine. The bread they serve to the table ahead with the olive oil and pepper was a standout.

The bread. That's the review. Bravos bread and oil is *chefs kiss*. I would honestly just go for that. This was my nieces first time and I was impressed at how large the kids mac n cheese was. She was stuffed. I always get the Pasta Bravo. The combo of mushrooms and the chicken and rigatoni is delicious. I also love their wedding soup and the cup was huge. This location is quite pretty and I really enjoyed sitting outside. You only have a view of the parking lot but whatever it was still a great ambience. Our server was phenomenal, we really enjoyed her!

Wonderful Holiday lunch. The variety on menu was a thrill. Everyone at the table had delicious options.

Great Holiday lunch. Delicious menu options for our table of 5. Our server was terrific.

We came here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Neither of us had ever been but we got a coupon in the mail for $20.00 off our bill so we figured we would try it. We were seated quickly; a lady came over to get our drink orders and they also arrived quickly. I can't remember what I ordered but it wasn't good. My husband offered to drink and so I could order something else that I also found to be very pricey for how underwhelming it was, but I should know better. My stepson ordered the chicken parmesan, I ordered the eggplant parm, and my husband ordered something with shrimp. I also ordered a Ceasar salad that when it was delivered was set in front of my stepson and left there. Weird since we were a small table 3 people and it was not busy. The salad was ok, but it was served without cheese. You have to ask for cheese on a Ceasar salad, which is very odd and I had to wait until she came back to our table to ask for it. Eventually, our entrees came out and to all of our surprises the pastas were not served with marinara sauce, but instead like a butter sauce. My palette has matured since I was 5 years old, so I did not care for the buttered noodles. The eggplant though a little greasy was pretty good. It was cooked to a crisp brown, seasoned and served with marinara and melted provolone. By far the best thing I ate. Everyone else agreed this was not how they would like to eat pasta. Another odd thing was the portions. I am not a big eater and usually these pasta chains portions are massive, but this wasn't. Everyone ate everything on their plates, and some were still hungry. The bill was over $100.00 even with the coupon, which was a little shocking, but those two blah cocktails certainly didn't help. I don't see us returning. The OG is better if we were really interested in hitting up a chain pasta joint again.

We went to this place in a relatively large group on a Saturday night. We showed up at the time of our reservation and were seated shortly. The ambiance was acceptable. Some pictures from Italy on the walls and everything else just like a chain restaurant in the suburbs. I ordered Old fashioned cocktail, eggplant Parmesan, Fillet Mignon, and CreaBrûlée for dessert. We also received bread and olive oil for the starter on the house. All the dishes were good. Nothing extraordinary either on the good side or on the bad side. The service, however, was way below average. A little bit slow, missing items, and mixing up others, especially on the checks where we found some cancelled items being still there. Overall, it was an average experience. I don't regret eating at this place neither I recommend it without hesitation.

Spaghetti Bolognese modified with penne instead of spaghetti and grilled chicken added.

They are changed seasonally and for winter they were making slushie versions. I got the frozen hot chocolate and it the spot. So if they can't spare more than a few tastes, I guess I can't decide on making a purchase. I tried the Steel City Bourbon which was hot AF, another bourbon the dude poured for me that I didn't ask for, then the Negroni cocktail. I had 3 samples that I just tasted and did not finish so I couldn't grasp why someone interested in purchasing something couldn't try a few more things. If I was there to get "free shots", I would have crushed each of the three 0.125 Oz pours he gave me. When you have like 100 varieties of stuff you're trying to sell, maybe more than 2-3 samples would be nice. Maybe pour less for a taste or something, but it was disappointing. I would have loved to try their Gin, Cinnamon Whiskey, Limoncello, and some others as well. Bummer!

Trivia and live music are sometimes available for entertainment. In the past few years, my husband and I have eaten at Wheelfish a few times. For our meals, the hostess and waitress promptly and politely served us. Here are my reviews for the foods: Pretzel bites - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was a large size. We really liked the flavor of the pretzels and the honey-mustard dip. We thought that the cheese dip was OK. Pulled-pork nachos - 5 stars - This appetizer of nachos was huge! Many tortilla chips were topped with gooey cheese, pulled pork, jalapeños, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Fried deviled eggs - 4 stars - The egg white was breaded and fried. It contained a yolk filling and was topped with a spicy jalapeño. We prefer traditional deviled eggs, but these ones tasted good. Mix-and-match soft tacos - 4.5 stars - The pulled-pork taco contained pulled pork and vegetable toppings that were very flavorful. For the brisket taco, I enjoyed the flavor of the brisket and toppings, but the juices made the tortilla soggy and caused it to fall apart. Shrimp tacos - 4.5 stars - These were on sale on a Thursday. The shrimp were breaded, and the toppings of napa slaw, mango salsa, and chipotle aioli tasted very good. Meat entrees - 4.5 stars - My husband liked the smoked chicken the most (5 stars), and he described it as being "delicious." We also ate ribs (4.5 stars), kielbasa (4 stars), brisket (5 stars), salmon (4 stars, needs more seasoning), and pulled pork (4.5 stars). Macaroni and cheese - 5 stars - My husband said that this macaroni was the cheesiest thing that he has ever eaten. He described it as "delicious." I ate some of the macaroni, and I agree that it was extremely cheesy. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Grilled vegetables - 4.5 stars - I wanted to make my meals more nutritious, so I chose a side of grilled vegetables, which are seasonal and included peppers, corn, squash, and zucchini. This mix of veggies had a very good flavor. Side salad - 4 stars - This salad contained a lettuce mix, some tomatoes, some pickled onions, and my choice of dressing. It was fresh but was slightly plain. Pork 'n beans - 3 stars - My husband ordered this side. He ate only a small amount of the beans and sauce, and he thought that they tasted just OK. For drinks, we had iced tea, diet Pepsi, and water. The waitresses brought refills.
