Okay, this place was SO good! I got the cheese enchiladas with half green suiza and half mole, and I know that sounds like such a random combination, but it actually worked! I loved being able to try two totally different flavors in one meal, and both were amazing. Even together, they somehow still tasted really good. We also got the churros, and they were perfectly crispy and served with whipped cream and fresh blueberries. Such a good way to end the meal. Honestly, everything was a 10/10. The service was great too. Everyone was really friendly and attentive, and they kept checking on us to make sure we were good and had everything we needed. I also found out they have brunch on Sundays, and now I definitely need to come back and try that! If their brunch is anything like this meal, I already know it's going to be good. I love this place my lady and I tried this place on Sunday 6/26/26. We have been here before just for the food, but this time we tried the buffet. Everything was killer. My husband loves coming here for their Sunday buffets. Their pozole and menudo is pretty good and they also have decent dishes. It's I believe $39 for the Sunday buffet. The place is pretty small though, but we haven't really had too much of an issue finding a spot to dine here. They serve beer and wine cocktails only. read more

This place is popping anytime I drive by and I just had to try for that alone. We had a larger party and were accommodated pretty quickly! It is a smaller on the inside but they have seating outside as well. The buffet they have on Sunday's is what draws the crowd. We skipped the buffet option but it looks like a deal! It's great when restaurants use skirt steak for their asada. El Canton De La Patrona gives you a generous portion with excellent beans and rice. Their hand made tortillas are delicious and come out piping hot. When I saw the plate, I assumed that it would be a 5 star meal. Everything looked so perfect. I've actually had to give it some thought and concluded that I would have to rate it 4 stars because of how chewy the meat was. I found myself having to work very hard to finish the last few bites. Long overdue review update - Glad to see El Canton still going strong!! We've enjoyed everything here over the years and all my sentiments in my previous review still stand. On our most recent visit we both tried something new! Hubby loved his Huevos con Chorizo (comes with choice of tortilla) - and I thoroughly enjoyed my Crispy Shrimp Enchiladas. They have a generous amount of plump tasty shrimp inside and come covered in a delectable mild red sauce. Would get both of these dishes again! They also offer a weekend brunch buffet that seems extensive - lots of variety of dishes and accompaniments as well as a large omelette station outside on their patio. The only reason we didn't try it is bc it's a tad expensive and we didn't think we could eat enough to justify the cost lol! Service is always excellent - attentive and friendly - and the vibes are super chill - relaxing sports bar ambiance and always clean. We drive from LA which is almost an hour drive and it is totally worth it. The staff is super nice and super attentive. And the chile relleno had carne asada in it so it was to die for. I usually start with the beans and rice, because of those aren't good you know the rest of the food will be crap. So happy that they were delicious. Authentic, you can tell they didn't come from a can. So my compliments to the chef. They had very cute coat racks next to every table which I thought was adorable and handy. For the restaurant being pretty busy it wasn't overwhelming. The noise level was tolerable. And the buffet I hear was decently priced. I saw that they had mimosa flights, I didn't partake but I saw them being made. They looked tasty. All in all a great experience. Finally decided to try el canton and what better day than mother's day! Took the whole family for Sunday brunch buffet and man oh man was it good. From pinto beans to enchiladas, chiles rellenos, rajas con crema, ceviches omelets and all that Mexican stuff I mean come on. What else could you ask for?. They even got a guy outside making them omelets and chilaquiles. From the buffet the birria and aguachiles definitely took the spotlight tho! Birria hella tender and tasty. I just went to La Patrona in Duarte on Huntington across the street from the habit. The beans and rice were so tasty! The homemade tortillas are the bomb. The chicken floutaswere chef's kiss!
