OMGEEE I'm sorry EL CANTON I was unfamiliar with your game!! I thought you were new here turns out IM NEW HERE cause what in the world!?! This place is popping anytime I drive by and I just had to try for that alone. We had a larger party and were accommodated pretty quickly! It is a smaller on the inside but they have seating outside as well. The buffet they have on Sunday's is what draws the crowd. We skipped the buffet option but it looks like a deal! We have to come back to try that out as well. All the food was flavorful, the table went silent once our plates arrived, so that's always a good sign! My plate had a little bit of everything I was craving I love that they give you this option because their is waaaaay to much to choose from. This was a hidden gem I am so glad to have recommended a good place, we will be returning soon thank you La Patrona!!

It's great when restaurants use skirt steak for their asada. El Canton De La Patrona gives you a generous portion with excellent beans and rice. Their hand made tortillas are delicious and come out piping hot. When I saw the plate, I assumed that it would be a 5 star meal. Everything looked so perfect. I've actually had to give it some thought and concluded that I would have to rate it 4 stars because of how chewy the meat was. I found myself having to work very hard to finish the last few bites. The asada was medium rare and that might be undercooked for a cut like skirt steak. I'll be back to try their ribeye, which would be perfect medium rare.

Long overdue review update - Glad to see El Canton still going strong!! We've enjoyed everything here over the years and all my sentiments in my previous review still stand. On our most recent visit we both tried something new! Hubby loved his Huevos con Chorizo (comes with choice of tortilla) - and I thoroughly enjoyed my Crispy Shrimp Enchiladas. They have a generous amount of plump tasty shrimp inside and come covered in a delectable mild red sauce. Would get both of these dishes again! They also offer a weekend brunch buffet that seems extensive - lots of variety of dishes and accompaniments as well as a large omelette station outside on their patio. The only reason we didn't try it is bc it's a tad expensive and we didn't think we could eat enough to justify the cost lol! Service is always excellent - attentive and friendly - and the vibes are super chill - relaxing sports bar ambiance and always clean. Overall El Canton is a solid experience and we'll be back - especially bc hubby still loves their mole!

Yazzy/ Yazmine was INCREDIBLE, she wasn't even our server but made the comfortability and immaculate like genuinely incredible experience at this place. I'm an AGM at 3 revenue centers in Temecula, and I would scoop her up as an employee in a heart beat. Mathias was our server and he also did an amazing job, but the real highlight besides the absolutely amazing food was the bartender! Btw their Carne Asada was so juicy and fresh big shout out to the cooks and every part of this place. If I am in town I will be back.

The "Pescado Al Limon" aka "Lemon Soup featuring Tumeric Curry Fish &Soggy Char Grilled Veggies"

The owner literally used AI to respond to my review... (check out pics) and that makes it even worse! Instead of genuine accountability, it reads like an owner having a temper tantrum using ChatGPT to defend overpriced food with no flavor! Also noticed almost every bad review gets an oddly defensive or aggressive response. I was not harsh, I was actually honest! Those servers are amazing do not forget about the good parts I mentioned! My waitress was kind and very attentive. She even thanked me for the yelp review! Bad food is bad food. Saying "different palettes" or "many guests enjoy it" doesn't change the fact that the Pescado al Limón was NOT good. And nothing about that watery lemon soup passing as "sauce" felt authentic to Mexican cuisine. You can't throw an orchid on the plate, up-charge dishes by $15-$20, and expect presentation to carry the meal.

We had a fantastic dinner here. The whole family enjoyed it. Food was flavorful and beautifully served. We had the steak fajita and carnitas del chef. The tomato wine reduction of the sizzling plate of fajita was amazing. The pieces of carnitas were clean cut and crispy on the outside. The corn and flour tortillas tasted freshly made and came out piping hot. We were served warm chips and salsa when we sat down, and they refilled it for us. Great service! We will definitely be back to try more dishes from the menu.

This was such a wonderful surprise!!! Have driven by tons of times, looks so cute, finally decided to stop in and I am so glad we did!!! Came on a Friday evening, service was excellent, all the employees were extremely helpful. The food was so good!! The happy hour menu was great, drinks and food were all very tasty!! I will say the bowl of pozole seems expensive, BUT, it is HUGE and can feed you for multiple meals so absolutely worth it!!!! Will definitely come back!!

Stumbled in here on a very random note, visiting from out of town. Coming from San Diego Area, I really appreciated the authentic food and great service i received here. Yazmin and Mathias were very hospitable and welcoming. When we are back in this area I'd like to stop by again.

Their website specifically says they offer reservations for parties of 10 or more, based on availability. I called about 30 to 45 minutes before arriving and asked if they could accommodate our group. The gentleman I spoke with told me yes, to come in and check in when we arrived, and that he would start getting a table ready for us. When we got there, apparently nothing had been communicated to the hostess. What made it worse was that the same guy then denied ever telling me on the phone that he would get a table ready. If they couldn't accommodate us, that would have been completely fine. Just tell me that when I call and we'll go somewhere else. Instead, we loaded up six kids, drove over based on what we were told, and then were basically turned away. We asked for the manager hoping they could at least help figure something out, but unfortunately the manager wasn't helpful either and offered no real resolution. Mistakes and miscommunications happen. What bothered me was denying what was said instead of simply owning the mistake and trying to make it right. We would have happily gone somewhere else from the beginning had they just been upfront with us. Very poor communication and customer service.

Being my first time I like to gauge the staff/table ratio ti get an idea on wait time for service. While waiting for my friend, I noticed a large table off to the side having drinks and playing a card game. I was impressed seeing that they were consistently getting rounded on by their server. Finding out this was a family run small business made this even more impressive as it was a full house. Additionally, it felt like the entire bar was excitedly watching the FIFA game, which was surprising because the difference in noise level from the outside of the building was significant. From the bar perspective, the bartenders were so kind (A), provided short/sweet conversation and excellent recommendations (A+), AND gave us time to look over the menu without being pushy (A++). I tried the lavender buzz and the oso espresso martini, my girlfriend had a lavender lemonade seltzer both being DELICIOUS. We Comfortable chairs, bathrooms and business were clean, and water is available at any time by the door with a self serve station. Hey Brian, I wanted…read moreto reach out about something that happened tonight that I feel you should know about. I also want to be clear that all of this transpired after you had already left for the evening. For context, I'm a regular at the bar and have been coming in for quite a while. I've never had a major issue with Brent or Steven, even though they both have personalities that can come across as sarcastic or abrasive. I've generally let it go because my reason for coming to the bar is simple: I come in to have a few beers, relax, and enjoy myself. Tonight, while I was still drinking one of my beers and had some left in the glass, Brent came by and took it away as if I was finished. I jokingly said something along the lines of, "I guess you're not going to let me finish the last bit." I wasn't upset and wasn't trying to start an argument. It was an obvious mistake that could have been solved with a simple apology. Instead, he responded with a snarky comment rather than acknowledging the mistake. Later, he brought another beer to my table. I made eye contact with him and before I could even say anything, he asked, "Do you want to say something to me?" I replied, "No, I just wanted to say thank you." His response was, "Your eyes are telling me differently." Again, I found that unnecessarily confrontational and disrespectful. At that point, I decided to leave a $0 tip. I normally tip very well, often around 30% or more, and this was the first time I've intentionally left no tip because I wanted to send a message that I was unhappy with the way I was being treated. After that, Steven came over and confronted me about leaving no tip. He asked if I was really zeroing it out and questioned me about whether something had happened between me and Brent. I told him that whatever issue I had was not his concern, and he responded, "Fair enough." I assumed that would be the end of it. Instead, Brent came outside and confronted me. He told me Steven had said I had a problem with him. I explained that I didn't have a personal problem with him; my issue was his attitude and the way he was treating me as a customer. Rather than listening, he became increasingly hostile. I reminded him that I'm a customer and that I'm only there to buy beer from the business. I'm not there to deal with sarcasm, attitude, or an employee's emotions. As a paying customer, the minimum I expect is basic respect. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells or accept being spoken to disrespectfully while simply trying to enjoy a beer. That confrontation ended poorly and he went back inside. A short time later, he came back out and confronted me again, this time in front of other customers. The situation became even more uncomfortable because it was happening publicly. During that exchange, he ultimately told me that I was not welcome back. Again, I reminded him that I am a paying customer whose only purpose in being there is to support the business and enjoy a beer. I should not be getting into arguments with employees, being confronted in front of other patrons, or being told I'm not welcome because I expressed concerns about how I was being treated. The bigger issue is that, in my opinion, this isn't just about tonight. This has been months in the making. I've noticed a pattern with both Brent and Steven where they seem to have become comfortable treating customers with attitude and sarcasm in ways that shouldn't be acceptable in a customer-facing role. I've overlooked it many times because I enjoy the bar and didn't think it was worth making an issue out of. On the other hand, employees like Kim, Josh, and David have always treated me and other customers with professionalism and respect. They know how to joke around while still making customers feel welcome. I've never had an issue with them. From my perspective, the problem is specifically Brent and, to a lesser extent, Steven. Brent especially has developed a demeanor that I find unwelcoming, confrontational, and disrespectful toward customers. I don't think I'm the only person who feels this way. Tonight was simply the point where it crossed a line. I'm not sending this because I want anyone fired or punished. I simply think you should know what happened, especially since it all occurred after you had left. I've spent a lot of time and money at your establishment over the years, and I would hope that customers--especially regulars--can expect basic courtesy and respect from the people serving them. I wanted to give you my side of the story directly. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

The folks/beertenders were very friendly and you can tell they're enthusiastic about craft beer and the craft beer community. I've only visited once, but I've been told that they regularly rotate out their taps and have cans of local and not so local breweries for sale out of the fridge. At the time of my visit, I noticed some cans from some of my favorite breweries in the LA and SD area. The place feels like a craft beer oasis in that it's a bit of a destination and I'm not sure what else is around. Although, to be fair, I don't live in the immediate area and don't really know the area that well in terms of craft beer offerings. Definitely a spot I would like to frequent. There seemed to be plenty parking when I went. Not sure if it get's really crowded when some more of the surrounding businesses are open, but I had plenty of spaces to chose from.
