Food~I ordered 3 Tripe Tacos and 3 Carne Asada Tacos they were all packed full of meat (I smashed 1 of each but, I got a pic lol). I absolutely love the Tripe Tacos I haven't been here in 3 years but, they still hit the same. I like the Carne Asada but, I wish I had gotten all of them Tripe (ex~crispy it's the way to go)! It also comes with diced onions, cilantro, mild/hot salsa, and if you like grilled jalapeño peppers and other veggies. Service~I have always gotten great service the cashier was very polite and welcoming. Even through they were really business there was no wait to order. But, be patient it's 2 cooks and, they are getting orders out as fast as they can (I probably waited for 15 mins which was fine it was a full house and, I never mind waiting for good food!) Ambiance~There is loud cultural music playing, it's a large seating area, I chose to wait in my car because you receive a buzzer. There is tons of parking and, it was completely full once I got my food. There were a few locals selling pastries in the parking lot so take a look if you have time while you wait. Cash only, service is alright. Been a few times & gotten many different people taking my order & they're all not very friendly so far. However, the tacos keep me coming back. They load them up with lots of meat. They are a bit greasy tho. Truck is nice & covered with a few tables & heaters to keep you warm while you wait or if you decide to eat there. Came here due to a recommendation and was told it was the best tacos in Portland so I decided to give it a shot. On taco Tuesday, I was disappointed that there was only specials on pollo tacos and not on asada. We ended up ordering asada tacos, pollo tacos and an asada quesadilla. The meat was really dry but the grilled onions that came on the side were fantastic. The salsas were also delicious, especially the red one since it had a really nice kick to it. The quesadilla was the best part of our meal but it was quite expensive... $11 with only tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream on the side, no guacamole or pico de gallo. Best tacos in town. Great service. I appreciate that they have a calling ordering in place, this saves you time. You simply call the number, make your order and go pick it up. The only thing I would criticize is that they only take cash. It would be nice if they would invest in an electronic payment system. They should do it for the practicality of their customers. Called in our order, usually ready and correct when we get there and good food. Friday night they had a teenage girl working, Apparently didn't speak much English, hadn't even started our order, laughed about it. Been going here for several years without issues, disappointed about Friday night, also they weren't busy at all, usually are on Friday nights. Also she didn't know how to count out change, gave us too much money back, we gave it back to her. Seems like they wouldn't want someone messing up the family business! I ordered a burrito and on the menu it does not state that it has onions and cilantro, had i known that it did, i would have asked for no onion and no cilantro. I live in Vancouver, WA where there is no good taco spot. And i have to drive out all the way here for some good tacos. If you need your taco fixing come through here. Ive gotten just about every meat for their tacos and they all are soo soo good. The tortillas are a bit crispy from the oil as every good authentic taco should be. I should also say their salsas are superior i judge a taco spot not just by the flavor of the meat but by their salsas and they dont dissapoint. I am from out of town, but have eaten here a couple of times while working nearby in Gresham. Oh, my. This is really good Mexican food. A lot of Mexican places just kind of mindlessly grind out boring plates of typical Mexican-food ingredients, which then looks like it should but lack real flavor -- you know, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, some kind of meat, etc., etc. Not so here. This little food truck does it right, and that just blows me away; it's better than almost any full-sized Mexican restaurant. I guess size ain't everything in this case. For example, on my tostada today there was crumbly authentic Mexican white cheese and a more-liquid one as well (I don't know the names)... plus just the right amount of refried beans (it didn't dominate), savory savory spicy pork, and all the rest of what you'd expect. All I can say is that it really hit the spot with all the flavors it had, coming together. I've sampled a number of things they offer, now, and all have been top-notch. Give this little food truck a try. Even if you're not quite as crazy about it as I am, I doubt you'll be disappointed. read more
