Stopped by at the end of a long day of driving home at the end of vacation. Chose the restaurant based on Yelp reviews. The menu reminded me of a place back in FL that is just ok. It far surpassed that level! First, I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was perfect! I ordered a combo (#6) with an cheese enchilada and chili relleno. I love rellenos and try them as often as possible. This was definitely among my favorites! Perfect pepper, not too spicy, no breading, and full of ground beef and cheese. My husband ordered the Camarones a la Diablas and generously shared one with me. Smoky, perfectly cooked and just the right amount of spice. Our boys ordered steak tacos and loved them. Good place to have dinner! Large portions and very reasonably priced. Went with a larger party of 14 people and the service was great. I ordered the mega ultimate three-meat fajita platter and it came out sizzling on the hot plate. Absolute fantastic restaurant! We come to Prattville for work events several times a year and always come here once, sometimes twice, while we are in town. The service is always amazing. It is family owned and operated. Many of the owner's immediate are wait staff. They remember us every time we come (even being only a couple of times a year), which says a great deal since this place stays busy. The margaritas are fantastic and they don't spare the tequila. We've never had a meal that wasn't delicious and the chunky guacamole is divine. read more

Go here. Go here now. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. They do a lunch buffet Friday through Monday from 11 to 230. Holy man. It was only $7.95 and SO good. Every kind of meat you could want, rice, beans, cheese dip, guacamole, enchiladas, tortillas, taco shells, and heavenly desserts. Also handmade margaritas that are on point (not included in the buffet unfortunately). Went for my dad's birthday. The sombrero and shot of tequila was a beautiful touch. This is probably the bet Mexican food I've ever had and I've lived in San Antonio. The chips and salsa are perfect. Not overly salty for the chips or spicy for the salsa. I ordered the texican or something like that which is basically a fajita with steak/chicken/shrimp. I don't eat rice so I got extra veggies (mushrooms/broccoli). The portions are enormous. Best Mexican food I've had in years... seriously. I had the chimichanga w/ beans.... wife had the tamales. Both were absolutely phemomenal. A little off the beaten "Cobbs Ford Chain Restaurant" strip..... but worth a quick drive right over Hwy 65. A little run down.... but comfortable. Arguably "authentic" in a way.... but clean, which was nice. Service was friendly... a "little" slow.... not terrible. The food came quickly. Any "extras" took longer than they should have, and repeat "check-ins" were rare. But the food was worth the wait. Even the chips & salsa were good. Just FYI.... I asked for some extra hot sauce to drizzle on my Chimi... expected a bottle of tabasco... got a nice small bowl instead. It was the consistency of salsa.... delicious... but their hot sauce is NO FRIGGIN JOKE. if you're a connoisour of heat.... it's worth asking for.... just take it easy.... trust me on this one. For the city of a Prattville this is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. The service is friendly and has a great sense of humor. The chips&salsa are always plentiful and quickly refilled. The portion size is just right with a good variety of choices between the popular and more traditional items. Definitely recommend it if in the mood for Mexican and in Prattville. read more

Finally stopped in tonight for a bite after a wrestling meet. I had the tacos al carbon, my wife had the steak nachos ( be warned, they're served on a platter and overflow, so be prepared for leftovers). My son had the house chiles rellenos (with real poblano peppers, not the usual insipid green bells) and my daughter the shrimp tacos. This was the most authentic Tex-Mex this San Antonio boy has had in decades. Gracious host (the owner, I think) attended our every need; appears to be a family operated place. So I had a quesadilla and the cheese was not melted thruoughly. My wife had a beef taco and burrito and some of the meat was not cooked! Salsa was tasty and thick enough to stick to the tortillas. Drink orders were taken and the server was very courteous. I order a combination with a enchilada, tamale, and tacos. My wife ordered the carnitas platter. The food arrived quickly and was hot. My combination platter was tasty not spicy and very enjoyable. My wife's carnitas were tasty and very good.
