Really good authentic food and great prices. Everything is fresh. They also have a full grocery store with authentic Mexican products.

Great market!! Store in the front and restaurant in the back. Even people selling street corn out front. Friendly workers. Ordered tacos al pastor. Incredible flavors! Never had al pastor as juicy as this. Tacos are loaded up!! Salsa verde and salsa picante were VERY good and went well with the tacos. Went in and ordered them to-go, and they were ready in minutes. I will be back this week!!

Best Mexican snack I have ever had! Chicharrones Preparados - According to the web this dish is made out of leftover pork cracklings, which are sometimes fried again before being pressed down to remove the excess fat. Well to be honest I feel a bit embarrassed because the whole time I was eating this magical Mexican snack I thought I was eating the softest most delicious tender onions I have ever had, LOL. After reading up on this appetizer I have found this was most likely pickled pork skins. Chorizo con Huevo (Scrambled Eggs with Sausage) - Ahh I have to be honest the bread was not to my likening at all. I would not order this again but the cheese which I want to say was cotija cheese was a great addition on top of the Chorizo. Tinga (Shredded Chicken) - The GF got this dish and said it was pretty good. I cannot recall the taste as we ordered from here over two weeks ago but still can taste that marvelous Chicharrones Preparados when thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and step outside your comfort zone and order it ASAP. As always people SYOY!!!

Tacos Al pastor, chicken, and beef. Refried beans and rice.

Located in a strip mall there is plenty of parking. The front of the business is a grocery store with a plethora of Hispanic items. To access the restaurant just walk to the back of the store. The restaurant was quite large. I would say there was seating for 45 people easy. I walked up to the cashier and told her I would like to eat inside and placed my order. I ordered the tacos which come 3 to an order. The young lady asked me what kind I would like and then informed me that I could mix them. I picked chicken, Al pastor, and beef. I ordered my tacos supreme with the sour cream, lettuce, tomato and shredded cheese. I also ordered a side of refried beans and rice. For my beverage I picked the hibiscus tea that was premade in a beverage dispenser. They also had tamarind and one other flavor. I sat down and the server brought my drink to the table. My meal arrived shortly afterwards. Everything looked delicious and after blessing the meal I got down to business. I enjoyed the creamy refried beans and the rice had a nice flavor. I enjoyed my chicken taco the best. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. The Al pastor was not as tender, but by no means was it tough. The beef taco was tasty. I loved the hibiscus tea which was flavorful and not overly sweet. The green salsa was perfect for me. I'm sure my better half would've enjoyed the heat that the red salsa offered! El Changarro thanks for the tasty food.

Was told to wake up early in the morning and go grab menudo. This was my first time trying menudo and coming to this restaurant. Walking in, there's a little shop in the front and the restaurant is in the back. I'm definitely gonna go back and do some shopping there because I want to try some stuff there. Restaurant was a cool spot and I ordered takeout and got the menudo soup. Comes with rice and tortillas and it was so delicious. The tripe was so good. Definitely going back to try other food on their menu! Highly recommend if you're looking for a Mexican spot for food in this area!

    Just keeping it real.

If my hair was bleached blonde and spikey, I would say that this place is the real deal taco joint that you gotta check out. If I wore bowling shirts and gold chains, I would say that this is the funky little dive for your authentic Mexican eats. It 's El Changarro in Bensalem Pennsylvania. I'm proof that you can get fat on cocaine.

At first you think you are at the wrong spot because you ave to walk through a store and money wire business to get to the restaurant t in the back. Worth the trip. The burritos came with your choose of meat, black beans, rice and lettuce. Flavor was good and reminded of places back in California. Burrito was large enough to fill me up for dinner.

One of the best Mexican food I've ever have in this area! You won't regret it. Service is great. Very friendly. It's a store in the front. So you can grab something to go when you're done.

    So many snacks!

I'm honestly not sure how long this place has been in the same shopping center as Kohl's and Ross, BUT LET ME TELL YOU -- THIS PLACE IS SUCH A HIDDEN GEM! I actually stumbled upon Changarro on Door Dash (basically a mix between GrubHub and UberEats if you're not familiar) and was immediately impressed. And it was delivery! So it was even that amazing after being delivered to me! Although they don't do Door Dash anymore (pour one out for the loss) this place is amazing. It's actually situated in the back of a Mexican grocer (complete with Mexican snacks, pan dulce, and authentic looking party fare) but if you walk all the way to the back the space opens up into the restaurant with a good number of chairs. The menu is about a page, but the offerings are legit. They even have Mexican soda in the refrigerator to the right of the ordering counter (not twist off I quickly learned as I struggled and eventually took the bottle home with me). The only think I thought was a bit odd was that you ordered, and then waited, and then paid? They made your food and then you paid for it. Now, I'm not someone who takes advantage of people, but I feel like I could've easily forgot. And what if it ended up being more money than I had, and the food was already made? I had the tacos al pastor, and the tostado de ceviche (shrimp). The tacos came with red and green salsa, but didn't even need anything else. The tostado was as big as my face and amazingly crunchy. Overall I cannot wait to try other things on their menu

The only place for authentic Mexican food. The prices are cheap and the food is delicious. Add in bonus with the convenience store in front

We found out this spot through Yelp. We were very curios about it. Definitely a good little authentic Mexican restaurant! At the front there is a Mexican grocery store, in the back this nice little restaurant area. The guy that take care of us was very nice and very helpful to explain us the menus. We have the opportunity to choose 3 different types of pupusas and tacos. Everything look and taste very good! The price is very good! Can't wait to be back again! Love the Mexican cuisine and love this place!

This place needs no long, fancy review. Our meal there was absolutely fantastic! Best sopes, enchiladas, mole, and beans we've ever, ever had. Can't recommend this place enough. Kind staff and absolutely amazing food.

This will be a short review. All you need to know is that this place has very mediocre food and is extremely overpriced. I will give it props for being the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Bensalem, but unfortunately being authentic alone doesn't save this place. It's actually really disappointing to be served some of the most forgettable Mexican food I've had at a Mexican run business. I've had better Mexican food from American and Cuban run places. That alone tells you that there is a problem. Even now it's hard to remember specifics about my meal. I had chicken mole; the chicken was a bit too dry but the sauce was okay. The beans and rice were forgettable. My fiance got the chile relleno and couldn't even finish it, he claimed it did not taste great and fell apart as soon as he tried to eat it. Needless to say I won't be returning, and while their food is edible, it's not great.

Before we entered the restaurant we were "distracted" by the vibrant ice cream store in the same strip. We walked in and were overwhelmed with all the ice cream options. Speaking to the owner, he said his family owns the EL Primo Plaza. We were on a mission for food, but will definitely visit the ice cream store in the future (our plan was after dinner, but dinner was so delicious and so filling, there was no room for dessert this time...better planning next time!). The restaurant is in a Mexican convenience store, but this is not your typical Mexican convenience store. They had so many options for everything. And they have this great bakery in the back before the restaurant. Everything looked SO good! In the back is a full sit down restaurant. We were seated and it is nicely decorated and has a view into the kitchen to watch them make the food. Our server promptly greeted us with some chips and what I think was a mole sauce. They were very tasty. We decided on a watermelon drink and shared mixed fajitas. The watermelon drink was fresh watermelon and it was very refreshing. The mixed fajitas came out piping hot, full of steak chicken and good sized shrimp. Sometimes at other places you get the baby cocktail shrimp, but these were a good size and nicely grilled and seasoned. You get a nice amount of sides to make your fajitas. There was so much food that we asked for extra shells at no additional cost! We thought we put a dent in the food, but we had so much still to take home. Everything was so fresh and seasoned well. The meat was nice and tender. There was a good amount of peppers and onions but it wasn't overpowered as sometimes also we have gotten fajitas elsewhere when there is mostly veggies and very little meat. We were absolutely stuffed by the time we left. Very good. We have added it to the list of places to return.

We drove to Huntingdon Valley and among warehouses and storage complexes, we turned into Provecho. It has a warm atmosphere with Spanish music playing in the background. We ordered the Shrimp Fajitas and the Chicken and Steak Fajitas. The dishes come loaded with freshly grilled red and green bell peppers and onions. The rice is cooked perfectly with a mild seasoning, the guacamole is delicious and has great texture, and last but not least, the pico de gallo was flavor packed! We had all the necessary toppings for our fajitas. The Shrimps were tender and succulent, we rolled them up in the flour tortillas and had some great shrimp fajitas! The Steak and Chicken were cut into thin strips, but were tender and tasty - we proceeded to wrap the slices into another flour tortilla and enjoyed them as well. The only item we didn't eat were the beans - they were too watery with no flavor. It's a small restaurant, but was busy on a Saturday night and filled up fast; we noticed a great deal of people picking up orders. We agreed we had found another destination that serves good Mexican food; we'll be back.

The restaurant is in this cute little area with shops, restaurants and bars and is a popular destination because when we were leaving out after finishing our meal the place was jam packed and there was at least an hour wait (but no wait when we came in thankfully). It's important to note that this is NOT authentic Mexican food ... but it was pretty good nonetheless. The margarita flight was cute and gave us the ability to try a few flavors out before committing to a large one. The favorites were the white peach and pineapple margaritas (the other 2 in the flight were the traditional and prickly pear). We ordered the Crab Mexican Street Corn for an appetizer and while it was loaded with crab, it wasn't Mexican Street Corn ... it was seasoned corn with old bay and a few other ingredients topped with crab. I ordered the Steak & Shrimp Combo Fajitas which was a nice portion size (I took 3/4 home) and the flavors were pretty darn tasty, but when you order fajitas you expect the "sizzle" and these didn't have that nor were they have the right temperature ... they were just warm when I wanted and expected them to be hot. The refried beans were yummy despite them not looking too appetizing but the rice was too soft. Service was good overall and pricing was also reasonable. The inside was clean and the bar area I sat at although small was a decent spot to have a drink and grub. The staff was mostly young kids who were very nice. The chips and salsa they offer were boring. The salsas both roja and verde lacked flavor, mostly spice. The chips were fresh, but thick and bland. I think a thinner homemade style would work better. The first bartender I dealt with was great with the menu. She recommended several menu items. I ended up rolling with the Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas at $18 - jumbo lump crab, old bay cream cheese, tiger shrimp, cilantro and lime rice. The lime rice was worthless. It had zero flavor and was dry. The Enchiladas were creamy, but lacked spice and complexity. The tiger shrimp had a delicious grilled, moist flavor and were the best part. My second trip had a newer bartender who was getting her feet wet. She was friendly, but busy familiarizing herself with the bar so I went simple and ordered Birria Tacos - $15 Braised beef, onions, cilantro, lime Oaxaca cheese, consommé. The beef was dry and not tender. The shells were ok. The best part was the lime Oaxaca cheese and the consommé somewhat helped me get the beef down. The portion was very small. Not a good value in my humble opinion. The other patrons were mostly young and enjoying margaritas. I think booze is the draw to this spot. Without it your just getting average Mexican grub. Heck of a location in the Borough, but my visits left me longing for a hot pepper!
