    While I enjoyed the service and the take out queso I purchased to take back to the office for a party, my meal was a total disappointment. I was pleased with the chips and salsa... there was a spicier, slightly chunkier one that was very good. My meal was not good at all. It does take some skill to do poblano peppers correctly and it wasn't there. The peppers were very much over cooked and tasted old, the upgrade to grilled chicken was a costly mistake, and the beans and rice were ho hum. I think there are a couple of other Mexican restaurants to try nearby- I will move on.

    I regularly come to this restaurant with colleagues and I always enjoy the meal. During the week there are usually a lot of customers, and on Fridays you may have to wait a little while to be served, but in general it's always fast and the staff is very friendly. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Covington! For a beer and a dish you pay about 20$, which is reasonable. You have a large parking lot next to the restaurant so it's easy to park. You can also enjoy watching sports on TV, there are many screens available. You can also choose to sit at the bar or at a table in the dining room. I recommend this restaurant, if you want to eat a good meal, served quickly, and not expensive.

    Food is great, very affordable (large portions too), and plenty of seating. The margaritas are refreshing and delicious. We had the nicest server, I can't remember his name but he recently moved from Venezuela and he had the kindest soul and was so attentive. Would absolutely recommend!

    My dinner was absolutely delicious! This was my first time here and I'll be back, my server was so fun and attentive. She kept the chips and salsa coming all night, the brown salsa was a hit! Also, they have recently expanded their restaurant so it's really spacious.

    We are from Texas where we have a lot of good Tex Mex spots. This place was awesome! Even during the week on a Thursday night they had the parking lot full. It seems you can call ahead and do a reservation or you can just walk in. Either way there was not a long wait. The dips were great! They had a wide variety of food to choose from, some that we don't even have in Texas. It all was very yummy. The service was great. The inside was nice and kept up. Their cheese and beef is made with ground beef instead of brisket like in Texas and with white cheese. Would go back again!!

    Last year on my birthday we waited an hour and a half and never got our food the manager said they were just so busy they lost out order.

    The food is consistently good here. The staff is great and the management team is top notch. Definitely the best Mexican in Covington.

Naturally, I assumed it was another one of those trendy farm-to-table establishments where everyone stares at you like you're both the customer *and* the menu. But after one visit to *Tellos*, I can confidently say this was the finest dining experience of my entire porcine existence. First impressions matter. The moment I trotted through the door, my snout was assaulted--in the best possible way--by the smell of roasted peppers, sizzling onions, cilantro, garlic, lime, and slow-cooked meat. For a brief moment, I forgot my own species. I forgot taxes. I forgot the electric fence incident of 2023. The aroma alone nearly made me levitate. The décor was immaculate. Colorful papel picado fluttered from the ceiling like festive little flags announcing, "Yes, pig, you are safe here." Hand-painted tiles lined the walls. There was a fountain in the corner that made me emotional for reasons I still don't understand. The music? Soft mariachi mixed with upbeat Latin jazz. Loud enough to feel alive, quiet enough to hear myself chewing. Now let's discuss the chips and salsa. The chips arrived warm. *Warm.* Do you understand what that means to a creature accustomed to eating room-temperature pellets from a dented metal trough? These weren't chips. These were crispy golden fragments of divine intervention. Perfect salt distribution. Structurally sound. Not one snapped under salsa pressure. And the salsa... sweet mother of mud puddles. It arrived in three forms: * Green salsa: tangy, bright, slightly smoky. Made me kick my back leg uncontrollably. * Red salsa: deep, roasted flavor with enough heat to make my ears flap like helicopter blades. * Habanero salsa: briefly allowed me to see through time. I consumed all three with reckless abandon. The waiter--whose mustache alone deserved five stars--recommended the carnitas tacos. I froze. As a pig, this was morally complicated territory. It felt like attending a family reunion and realizing everyone else was on the menu. But curiosity won. Reader, I have no words. The tortillas were soft and fresh with just enough char. The carnitas were crispy on the edges, tender in the middle, juicy enough to make me tear up. Topped with diced onion, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime so perfectly balanced it could've resolved international conflicts. Every bite was a spiritual crisis wrapped in corn. Instead of anger, the staff simply nodded with the weary understanding of people who have seen true chaos before. Dessert was churros. I didn't know churros could exist in this dimension. Crunchy exterior. Soft center. Cinnamon sugar coating so perfect it should be studied by scientists. The chocolate dipping sauce was thick enough to qualify as emotional support. By the end of the meal, I could no longer physically stand. I had to be gently rolled toward the exit like a large satisfied beanbag chair. As I lay in the parking lot staring at the stars, belly round as destiny itself, I understood something profound: This restaurant didn't just feed me. It healed me. 5/5 snorts. Located in Lithonia, Don Tello's is located in a busy retail area and I loved that parking wasn't an issue at all. There were 2 arcade games at the front which I'm sure come in handy on busy days when children may become restless if their parents are waiting for a table. As we walked up to the hostess stand, I noticed the printed signage that so many mentioned in their reviews regarding no refunds, remakes, etc. Kinda makes you cautious! But we were quickly seated by friendly hostesses and we weren't turning back. The restaurant was huge and filled with plenty of space for hungry guests. I read reviews regarding their Cinco de Mayo celebration being on swole, and I can definitely imagine that! There were only a few people in our seating area during our visit, but I definitely appreciated that. Our waitress was sweet but quite forgetful. On a number of occasions we found ourselves asking for items two or three times. We'd ask a question and she'd respond in a calm "duh" kinda way as if we knew what was happening in the kitchen, lol. I'm a guacamole purist so when I ordered the Texas guacamole dip, I asked for it to be prepared tableside as that was listed as an option on the menu and I wanted a hand in deciding how much/little of each ingredient and enjoy the prep. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming. I really appreciated that there were a number of a la carte options (as I never eat my rice and beans) and they were all priced under $7! Such a great deal. I ended up going with a shredded chicken chimichanga along with the guacamole dip and my girlfriends opted for tacos, a beef quesadilla, a burrito and an order of nachos. I'll say this - the portions were insane. My friends' quesadilla was filled up with meat and covered the entire plate (but wasn't cut up) and another girlfriends' nachos could have fed two people. My guacamole was a nice portion as well and I could tell that it was fresh. It was good, not the best I've had, but tasty. I could have used another avocado in the mix and just a litttttttle less lime. Overall, an okay experience but I'm not sure if I'll be rushing back anytime soon.
