The pork belly was very dry, hard, and mostly unpleasant to eat. We split the bisteca lo pobre and it was very good. There's a $5 split plate fee and for that small amount, we got a full second portion of rice, fries, and an extra egg. Well worth it. We sat inside this time and it was fine, albeit a little loud. We would probably ask for outside next time if the weather was nice. The spiced chicha is easily my favorite drink on nearly any menu at a Peruvian restaurant I've been to. I will always go out of my way to get one when I visit Providence.

We had requested outdoor seating, but were instead led to an indoor table in a room that really didn't have much character, and wasn't what we were looking for on a special night. We asked to be moved outdoors, and after a little while a table became available. Outdoors was so much nicer than indoors and we really liked all of the plants and the live music as well. Our server was Joseph and he was really nice - he was probably the best part of our visit to Los Andes. I had heard such great things about this restaurant, but found most of the food to be pretty average compared to other Peruvian restaurants I've been to, and the prices were higher than they should have been. We ordered appetizers, drinks, entrees and a dessert, and all in all, I think Los Andes is overhyped. It was disappointing to have to wait for quite awhile past our reservation time, to not have our request for an outdoor table honored and then have to move, and the food and drinks were not as good as I would have expected them to be given Los Andes' reputation. Glad we went, but now I can cross it off of my list.

A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

We found street parking close to the restaurant and that worked well for us. We had about a 25 minute wait before we were seated as we expected. There were tons of people waiting for a table but they have a good system going and we got our table by the promised time. You are first provided complimentary chips with 3 warm dips (black beans and mild and spicy salsa) - they were really good. For appetizers we shared a garnacha and a chicharron and cheese pupusa. Portions were large and they were very tasty. We considered getting one main course to share but since we don't live close by decided to go for 2. This allowed us to have a lot of leftovers - enough for another dinner at home. One entree was aire, mar y tierra - delicious fried fish filet, well seasoned and grilled steak and chicken breast. That came with salad, rice, beans and a side of tortillas. We also had the caldo de marisco (seafood soup) and although not mentioned on the menu, our server mentioned that we could order a medium or large size. That came with a side order of rice. Fantastic soup! Restaurant is very lively and the noise level is high with groups enjoying their meals and having conversations. They have several televisions that were playing soccer games in the background as well as music playing in the background. A very energetic vibe. Another great meal and we will be back again in the future.

Ambiance - it's family friendly, booths & table seatings for bigger parties there were 6 of us! 10/10 experience our waiter was friendly and happy!
