We are local and visit here often. The servers are awesome and always keep our drinks full and check back with us often to make sure everything is OK. The food is different than what else is available currently in Showlow and in Pinetop. It's a good mix of seafood fajitas, tacos enchiladas anything else you could possibly imagine on your Mexican menu. We think their drink menu is pretty extensive and you surely will find something you've not had before. We keep coming back between here and one other competitor down the street. We both think they are equally talented when it comes to food and the service at both locations are excellent. Not going to name the competitor, but if you're local and you eat along the strip, you know who I'm referring to. I think this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

We go often and love the food, service and delicious margaritas! The enchiladas with Philadelphia Sauce and Chiles Crispy are terrific!

Stopped in for some quick lunch. Staff was very friendly we had La Pararilla it was more then enough food for me and my 3 friends. I had a pineapple agua fresca and the server was nice enough to add tajin rim to it. The chips and salsa were complimentary and the handmade tortillas were delicious. Food was terrible. Waitress was rude and barely came by our table. When we mentioned the food wasn't great she completely disregarded it. We were told to bring the receipt to the front to pay, so we awkwardly had to stand in the narrowest walkway as people were entering and leaving the restaurant--just a weird thing to have the customer do. read more

We saw great reviews and decided to try something new. The food was good. Service could have been better. It was disappointing that our server brought my husband something he didn't order and left our bill without asking if we wanted dessert, which we did. And the staff at the front to check us out were preoccupied, they are young and don't realize the importance of customer service. read more

Yummm!!! Micheladas were delicious. The chicken, steak and chorizo on the Parrillada de El Charro were so flavorful and well seasoned. It's perfect with the handmade tortillas. Easily enough food for 3-4 people. The kids servings are huge!! Will definitely be back to try their seafood. Customer Service was awesome. Servers came to check on us many times. The bright orange walls, the authentic Mexican music, and the beautifully prepared entrees make El Charro Beer stand out. I ordered the El Charro Salad and the portion size did not disappoint. If your Mexican it's a no. Food not tasty. The micheladas were not good either. Service was great. It's a clean restaurant.

Walked in on a whim while waiting for tire repair down the street. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by the bartender and server. Ordered Birria tacos, a Mexican combo meal and were very happy with both. Add cold beer, chips, salsa, Nortenos on TV, and a very attentive, charming and warm server, and I call that a good time! The ambiance was welcoming and tables were spaced apart enough to provide adequate comfort and privacy. The menu is expansive, offering not only traditional Mexican food but as well Mariscos, birria (mentioned), and even offered a decent selection of pastas. I look forward to coming back and further exploring the menu while taking in more of the traditional, cultural way of life offered at Charro Beer. read more

After camping, we wanted to hit a restaurant before heading back down the hill. We picked El Charro and everything was amazing! Great service, amazing food. We had birria tacos, shelredded beef taco plate, chicken pasta, and the bacon burger. All were perfect, hot and huge portions. You know the food's going to be good when the plate comes out 400° haha - only critique would be to offer a spicier salsa - and they may have one but I didn't ask. read more

We were somewhat hesitant to pick this restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. The combination of excellent ++ service, good food, ambiance, portion size and price are rarely found these days. The included chips and salsa portion was generous to say the least. The mild salsa had a good taste but be sure to also ask for the hot salsa if you prefer more heat like us. I debated on giving four or five stars but decided that this establishment deserved five stars for all the above reasons. Obviously we will return again when in Showlow. read more

I can honestly tell you the food was very good ! I am from TX but travel for work , the tamal was different then what I am used to but it was soooo good . I had the chicken fajita they were moist and tender . Lots of left over for my dinner Tuesday in my hotel . Y'all just go !
