The worst I have ever had. Not only did the food taste bad there was a clear plastic strip in my empanadas. In addition to the empanadas, I had enchiladas in green sauce with rice and black beans. This place is the real deal. Lived in Texas and we would drive over the border to mexico all the time to shop and eat. When I eat El Charrito it reminds me of the little joints we would stop at, that many times were literally the family cooking for you out of their homes. This is the best Mexican restaurant that I have found in the Westchester/lower Connecticut area. Definitely worth it to search out this gem of a spot. Guacamole is chunky and flavorful. Tortas, tacos, and burritos are all incredible. Homemade salsas add depth and flavor to each dish. The only drawbacks to this place are the hours (not open late enough for me to get there as much as I'd like to) and the lack of seating. Great authentic Mexican food for the first time in this area. Everything is well made and all reasonably priced. Their chips and salsas are amazing. Loved my experience here ordering food for a party of 35 people. I ordered the Taco Bar which comes with 3 kinds of meat and all of the taco fixings, plus extra guac and chips. Everyone at my party commented on how delicious and authentic the food was. Also Alexandra was lovely to work with over the phone and email.. Good ingredients, flavor of the tomatillo sauce is flavorful, the fajitas and sopes very good. We've ate a lot of Mexican food on west coast and this is your perfect hole in the wall neighborhood joint in Greenwich to get great Mexican food to go. No room to dine in, no real sitting area. The food is well worth any amount of wait! Usually they're fast but they get a lot of big orders and deliveries and catering too especially the night we came. I had the tinga steak enchiladas. THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Just order lunch for me and my employees and I am so impressed on the food how outstanding and amazing it tasted. Delivery took less then an hour and for five people most places take longer. The food arrived hot and not warm and the pricing was more the re asonable more like a steel. I was told that the burrito I was asking for which was simple was going to take 45 minutes with a certain not right now sort of attitude. I had a craving for some good, no fuss mexican food and decided to give this place a try. The Chicken Tinga Enchiladas with red mole was amazing, one of the best moles I have had. The chicken quesadilla was good. The guac is mostly huge chunks of tomatoes so save your 5 dollars. The chips were also not very good. The drink fridge also had a pool of water on the bottom that tied up bags of cheese were sitting in. I will not be returning not sure why this place is so highly rated. read more
