I stopped by around 9 PM, about an hour before closing, and was surprised the restaurant was still pretty busy. We were seated right away, and the staff greeted us warmly and recommended a few popular dishes. The menu has a great variety of sushi, sashimi, appetizers, and specialty items. My favorite dish was the agedashi tofu. It was crispy on the outside, soft and silky on the inside, and the light broth with bonito flakes added so much flavor. We also ordered the fried oysters, which were perfectly crispy and paired really well with the dipping sauce. The restaurant was clean, service was fast, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. One thing I really liked was that they had a TV showing the game, so it was nice to enjoy dinner while watching sports. The Wagyu fried rice: amazing Fried SSC: definitely will order again Hamachi Kama: not bad, wished it would have been scaled a bit more or skinned cooked. Edamame: average, wanted it to be pieces of garlic and something more but did the trick. NO Roll: fresh, good flavor and I'm a sucker for lemon pieces with the rind for depth. Well, this place was a bit disappointing. If you look at my other reviews, I'm pretty generous with my scores, giving the benefit of the doubt to the place, but this wasn't the best experience we could have had. We were seated pretty quickly, which was nice. The server came right away and asked for our drink order. I asked for a water along with tea and didn't get the water until I reminded the server, when he was refilling drinks for people in my party (which is a pretty long time). The calamari was pretty hard and crunchy, but not in a good way. The inside was chewy and wouldn't break apart when you bit it. The katsu was okay. Not a fan of the sauce and the bottom of the chicken was pretty greasy, but it was juicy. I did like the salad, and we never received our miso soups, which are supposed to come with the meal and didn't realize it until part way through eating our entrees, so at that point it wasn't worth it to ask. The tonkatsu ramen, wasn't my son's favorite and he loves that stuff. My wife wasn't a fan of the fried rice, but said the teriyaki chicken was okay. I think what put the icing on the cake was that it took forever to get the bill picked up. My wife ended up getting a host to pick it up and run it. I do the like interior, it looks nice, but at this point I would rather go to Wabi Sabi Eastvale for food and service to our expectations. I will try this place again to see if it was just an off day for them. read more

My wife and I have been wanting to try this place for the last 3 years. We got the Premium Chirashi Lunch Donburi and fried calamari. The lunch donburi came with soup and salad and it was all delicious. The fish literally melted in your mouth. The calamari was decent but we prefer the other type of calamari that are not shaped like onion rings. The service was excellent. Jacob took care of us and was always friendly and checking up on us. Fish quality here is Superb! Tenmaya is located in the Hamner Place Center. My boyfriend and I, came here on a Sunday night for dinner. Once you step in you are greeted by the host, who offers you a VIP loyalty card which is free to sign up for (if you visit their restaurant and spend a certain amount, you get a discount on future dining). The interior of the restaurant is modern and elevated, it is a great place to take a date, or dine with a group of 4-6 people. What we ordered: Pink whisper drink 7/10- light & refreshing Ankimo 9/10- fresh &creamy Chilean sea bass 8/10- I like to try CSB at every restaurant I visit that has it on the menu. Their seabass is good, but I've had better. Truffle udon 7/10- creamy & udon cooked al dente (just how I like it). Sashimi deluxe platter 10/10: my boyfriend and I had not seen any photos of the sashimi deluxe pot that we ordered, so as soon as the server brought it out, our eyes widened and jaws dropped. First of all, the platter was absolutely beautiful , there was dry ice that was cascading out of the bamboo fixture, like a waterfall, over the bed of ice, and pieces of the sashimi weee decorated with fresh wasabi and 18K gold. Our server gave us a presentation, so that we knew what we were eating, and once we picked up the first piece of sashimi with our chopsticks and ingested it, it was LOVE at FIRST BITE! Although most of the items were tried were good. The Sashimi was the definite star for us. My boyfriend and I agreed that our main focus to order on our next visit is the sashimi. Stopped by today to have lunch with my husband and we were craving Japanese food. And this place didn't disappoint. I ordered the fantasy roll and my husband had the chicken bento box. Both were just delish. And Alyssa was just super. She made a great suggestion for my husband's bento box. We thank her for doing that. The iced matcha green tea with lemon was delish. Came here on a weekday afternoon with my toddler and I was one of the only two parties there, which I absolutely loved. I ordered the sushi and sashimi combination from their lunch menu and everything came out so fast. The fish was fresh and tasty. I ordered their fried oysters too and they were delicious! 100% recommended! My manager decided to surprise me with a lunch with my team members for my birthday. This place has plenty of parking on the front and it has a very clean feel and brightly lit. The have plenty of options in the menu. We each ordered whatever we wanted, a few appetizers and a big sushi dish. We were unclear as to which dishes included soup/salad but we got a few and shared since we didn't all get one. The spicy edamame to share was really good with just enough spice. The miso soup was nice and hot with little bit of tofu and seaweed. I ordered the soft shell crab for myself and it came without much to it just the crab and a sauce, but that's all it needed the sauce went really well with the crab. The sushi platter was amazing! I liked every single piece I tried and we enjoyed the experience. It comes out in a beautiful presentation but not too versatile for sharing in a big table so we did have to take some of the decor off. We had been wanting to go here for a while, but since we tend to have an early lunch/brunch, we tend to miss it since it doesn't open until noon. We were finally able to go today and appreciated how quickly the food arrived. They may have a later opening, but it seems to be so that everything will be ready once you place your order. My sister's order took a little longer, but it was understandable since she ordered steak which takes a while. The food is beautifully presented and the restaurant itself is well decorated. I could see it as a place to go to for a special occasion. I was happy they had a vegan roll section as well as vegetarian appetizers to choose from. The waitresses were so attentive, like right when I was about to ask for more water, our waitress came to refill my glass before I even had a chance to ask. And when they saw how many pictures I was taking, one of them offered to take a picture of my sister and me together. Which reminds me that as this was all happening I had left my purse in our booth, but I saw the other waitress move to stand in front of it to protect it. This act of thoughtfulness extends to even the girls' bathroom where feminine products were offered for free, which means a great deal when you're a woman. Even the pen I was given to pay the check made me smile because it was so "kawaii", Japanese for cute! All this added up to a good experience that I highly recommend. read more

The place is pretty spacious, it would be good for small and big groups. In fact, there was a group celebrating a birthday. There's a few televisions, they were playing the football game. The vibe is casual. They quickly brought out menus for us. There is a variety to choose from. We ordered a few plates to share between two of us: -Vege Tempura. Crisp and light, not overly oily. Came with a sweet potato, broccoli, onion, and zucchini. -Hawaii Roll. Negitoro roll topped with bluefin tuna. This was my favorite. It was light and simple. Pieces of fish were perfect. It did have a spicy sign on the menu but I did not find this to be spicy at all. Maybe because it has wasabi but I didn't find it to be spicy. -Baked Lobster Roll. We were in a lobster mood so we went ahead and got this. Creamy, meaty, and delicious. This was a bit on the heavy side. -Uni Pasta. This was also a favorite. It was creamy and flavorful. The uni was perfectly soft and delicious. It's creamy pasta so this was also on the heavier side. Definitely ruined any chance of leaving room for dessert, haha. Everything was beautiful. The Bad: Please, please, please taste the miso soup before serving it to customers. It tasted like bad tap water and was undrinkable. I looked to the table behind me and noticed they didn't touch theirs either. I hate to say this but it was gross. Had a great experience here for the first time..a group of 3 of us we waited a bit for the server to even bring beverages but by then we ordered all of our food too. The jalapeno poppers were delicious! There's tuna and cheese in them and they're split in halves. The Deja Vu Roll is work trying if you like spicy! That cilantro onzu sauce....amazing! There was also a roll with mango in it which was pretty good but I felt lacked the mango flavor. What I liked was the quality and freshness of the food. Respectfully, they always put out good food BUT tonight, this to go order wasn't as fresh. Chicken was a little tough and everything taste different. Smooth, clean, dreamy. Hokkaido Uni - totally different from the local Santa Barbara stuff. Denser, richer, none of that fishy liver vibe. Toro Uni - HELLO. Best of both worlds. Cute little presentation, gone in seconds. Must try! Unagi - solid! I personally like mine a bit more charred, but the lighter eel sauce was a nice surprise.
