    Spicy mango margarita
    Carla G.

After a long day of adventures in the Grand Canyon, I was craving Mexican food and found El Comedor Cardenas conveniently located near my hotel. The exterior is quite simple, so you might be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food inside. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated at a high-top table. The restaurant offers outdoor patio seating and also has an additional room for large parties. Since it was Memorial Day weekend, I felt the management should have scheduled more staff. The team was clearly hustling and doing their best, but they were overwhelmed--the restaurant was packed, and there was a large party in the extra room. Management should better anticipate holiday crowds, especially given that many of the diners I saw had also been at the Grand Canyon earlier. Despite the staffing challenges, the staff remained friendly, hardworking, and very apologetic. The shrimp and chicken fajitas were phenomenal, and the restaurant was clean. I tried the spicy mango margarita, which was good, though I prefer mine with a bit less sweetness and a bit more spice--so I added a shot of Patrón. They serve complimentary chips and salsa when you sit down, which was a nice touch. The decor is simple and basic, but the food more than makes up for it. I recommend the shrimp fajitas. The shrimp and vegetables where very fresh. FYI they don't serve black beans. There's ample parking, and the restaurant is pet-friendly, which is a bonus for dog owners. Good restaurant but they need to work on staffing.

We got into Williams around 9:15 after having the longest drive from Cali. ABSOLUTELY STARVED and no other restaurants were open even though they were all supposed to be open until 10. This was our last stop before having to grab fast food. The guy who greeted us immediately sat us and was so kind even though there was no one in the restaurant. The food and drinks were 10/10 and the ambiance was perfect, even better than we expected. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO COME HERE!!!!!

I discovered a nice restaurant with a parking lot, located far from the historic downtown area, which I avoided since downtown usually only has street parking.and public parking is like blocks down . Surprisingly, when I arrived using GPS, I realized the restaurant was right next to the hotel I had booked. Looking at the menu, I immediately knew what I could eat despite being on a strict diet. When I walked in during the afternoon, the place was empty, and a kind gentleman, who also seemed to be the host, greeted me and took my order. I decided on the carnitas plate. The pork was perfectly stewed, tender, and flavorful, pairing wonderfully with the microwaveable rice I brought along on my trip. The meal was such a good experience that I returned the next day for dinner. This time, I ordered the fajita plate with shrimp and treated myself to an extra appetizer of ceviche. I also asked for flan, but since they were out, I opted for churros instead. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially for being in such a remote area. I can confidently say this spot stands out for its outstanding Mexican food!

First time here and the food was great. Chips were crispy and salsa was good. The service was fast and there was no wait time. Place looked really clean and smelled good. What I really enjoyed was the food and my kids loved it. If any one has liked mole before, they know it's hard to make but this place has the best mole. Seriously that was half a chicken they served.

Such a great little restaurant. Was craving texmex style food and was staying in Williams so found thing place and it was great. We arrived right before closing but they still sat us and was so nice and willing to serve. The chips and dip were good! Yes the salsa was a little thinner but still tasty. We ordered an enchilada plate to share between two people and even had the options to split the meat into two different kinds. The food was delicious! Would recommend to anyone visiting Williams to stop by!

No service, not sure if a bunch of people called out or what but never got acknowledged for service despite it being mildly busy.

I was staying overnight on a vacation roadtrip and came in on May 30th at 615 am after finding this…read moreplace on Yelp. The waitress Maria L. sat me at a table. I asked for coffee and she handed me a menu and she asked if I knew what I wanted to eat. I said I needed some time to look at the menu and she frowned and walked away without saying a word. It was obvious she thought I was going to be there a while and didn't want me sitting at the table long. She returned with the coffee and said "You know if it gets busy...." leaving the sentence hanging. I replied I would leave if it did (the restaurant only had maybe 3 tables full at that point, by the time I left at 640 there were two tables empty). After eating the food, which was quite good, I promptly packed up and left as soon as I could 25 minutes after being seated. I walked down to Brewed Awakenings, got a coffee there and sat down at my computer to do some work. In a small restaurant I totally understand that you need to keep tables moving so there is not a wait, but there is a polite and subtle way to message to a patron that they need to move along so other folks can sit down. You can deliver the check early, ask if you are finished, ask if there is anything else you need. Ways to communicate to a patron that they need the table. This was certainly not it. I eat out often, I tip very well, but I have to say this is the first time I felt unwelcome and rushed at a place in a very, very long time. While the food was good, this was not the way to start off day 2 of my roadtrip. In today's economy, making your customers feel like they need to eat and run, and doing so in a rude way, is a master class in how to make your restaurant fail. I do not recommend this place.
