    Shrimp Tacos
    Harman B.

I absolutely hated this spot the first time I had tried it but last month some co-workers of mine convinced me to give it another go and boy am I glad they did. Over the past month I have been here three times and each time I have come for their shrimp and asada tacos! Their shrimp tacos specifically are the best I have had in a longgg time. They don't over cook the shrimp and they don't offer small or chopped up into pieces shrimp either. Each taco has 4 large whole shrimps cooked and seasoned to perfection! Glad to have had my opinion changed on this place!

Our mindset on this food joint is still the same 8mo later. We love it! It is, hands down, the best place to sit and eat in Yerington. A lot of bad Mexican food in Nevada, and This town has a few options, some bad, some really bad. Nunez does not ever disappoint. Chips came out hot and freshly made. The oil did not taste old. The guacamole is made fresh daily and the salsa is fresh and satisfying. We eat here at least once a week. Johana is the sweetest waitress. With 12 tables all taken up at 3pm, we helped clean up a table that as a couple just left a table vacant. The least we could do for the place we enjoy so much.

Ordered a burrito togo on my way through town. I got an asada burrito with a bag of chips and 4 small salsas for just under $10. The size of the burrito was massive. It had asada, rice, beans, and salsa, so pretty basic, but the flavor was good. The chips were freshly fried and the salsa was delicious. This place is a small business that you can tell makes everything fresh. I enjoyed my visit and next time I drive through Yerington I'll stop again. *If you are driving through in a hurry they do make everything fresh so expect a wait*

Great service great food and great value! The Homemade chips I ordered the tamale, taco, and enchilada and it was really really good!!! My daughter got the veggie burrito and it was amazing!!! If we're ever traveling through here again we will most definitely stop by!

The food didn't have much flavor. The burritos were supposed to have guacamole and sour cream and didn't have any.

Hometown Coffee sits in an old house someone cared enough to fix up. Big windows. Open seating. Warm inside. The kind of place you wish more places were. Feels more like Gardnerville or midtown Reno. But better, because it's here. Local. Real. You could bring out of town friends here and not feel the need to explain anything. They'd get it. The staff knows their stuff. They're kind without trying. They ask the right questions. They remember what you like. The building feels like it's been waiting for this to happen. Like it was always meant to be a place where people sit and talk and feel at home. I've come here a few times since they opened. Read a little. Worked on some designs. Sipped coffee or Thai tea. Never once felt out of place. The sound in the room stays steady. Just enough voices to keep you company. Not so much you have to fight to think. I'll keep coming back. I'll keep telling people. Not because it's flashy or loud. But because it's good. And that's rare.

This is definitely in the category of a hidden gem!…read more YTA (Yerington Theater for the Arts) manages this amazing old building that serves as the cultural center for the small farming community of Yerington. Inside this refurbished old grammar school is an amazing little cafe operated by YTA. I used to come to the cafe when I lived in Yerington and it was under different management. I am so happy to see that the Cafe has been revived under the capable management of Roy Enochson, the Executive Director of YTA. A friend and I decided to have lunch here recently. The Cafe is in the lobby area of the Theater and serves as a place to eat, an art gallery and a boutique for all sorts of arts and crafts most of which are locally made. The space is a bit like being in a favorite Auntie's parlor with little tables, comfy chairs and a visual cornucopia of treasures. My friend ordered the lunch special - butternut squash ravioli with a side salad. I ordered the Cafe Signature Salad - a lovely fresh blend of baby greens, apples, cheese, cranberries, candied walnuts all lightly dressed with a white balsamic vinaigrette. I also had a blood orange Italian Soda. The food was all tasty and fresh. Service was vey friendly, but the food was slow coming out. It was worth the wait. Our total bill for the two of us was under $20. While the portions were not huge, the meal was satisfying and the quality was excellent. This is a definite place to stop if you are in the area. It is a fabulous alternative to the fast food and casino coffee shops that are in the area.

The have freshly prepared paninis, smoothies, salads, and an assortment of sandwiches. I believe they also do daily specials of dishes that are not typically on the menu. Not many know this place has a Cafe inside, so you'll typically, especially during lunch, be able to sit and eat in relative peace. Which is a nice change of pace from other, full-fledge restaurants.
