Lovely and nostalgic little place. Definitely the hometown fav. My family and I were the only strangers there. All the other customers knew each others names and asking about updates on their lives. It was a precious place. Service was quick and friendly. Unfortunately, I feel like this place is a bit pricey for a cute, local diner. Usually you go to those places because of the good deals but we were surprised by the pricing of stuff. Especially since there isn't much in that town but hey, we do stuff like that for a reason. I got the herb crusted chicken, which looked great but was hard to cut into and super rubbery. Didn't eat it and got it taken off the bill which was really nice of them. My parents seemed to really enjoy their sandwich and burger and ate the entire thing. Last weekend, a friend and I stopped in for lunch at Yerington's Dini's Lucky Club Casino. I have enjoyed eating here any time I'm caught hungry in town over the last 20 years. My friend and I wer helping someone out and hit Dini's for a quick lunch. The waitress was friendly and asked if we had seen the "morning special." We hadn't, and I later observed that no specials were posted anywhere in the restaurant. She described the special as a "Doughnutburger", adding that two other customers across the room had just got theirs and loved it. She also mentioned she only had two left. Curiosity won out and we ordered. What arrived should never have been served in any self-respecting restaurant. The "bun" was a bagel-split glazed doughnut, sweet and sticky. The patty was clearly a low-grade frozen beef patty, cooked to fossilized perfection. Like what you would find on a plain fast-food burger. It was topped with a square of processed cheese and three small strips of artificial bacon. No dressings, no burger veggies, no balance attempted, and no effort made to make the combination work. It was dry, awkward, and genuinely unpleasant. I did not finish mine. When the waitress asked how the meal was, I told her honestly that it wasn't very good and that I would not order it again. She could see the half-eaten burger on the plate. She left us the ticket. My lunch companion picked it up and whispered across the table "$22.00". Pretty brave of them to charge a price like that, but lesson learned I suppose. It wasn't until we had exited the restaurant and I said something about the terrible price. That's when my partner broke it to me we had been charged $22.00 EACH. Forty five dollars and change for two bad burgers, fries, and a soda!!! This wasn't an experiment that missed the mark, it was a careless pile of cheap ingredients sold at an absurd price. In a small town, diners survive on reputation and repeat customers. Serving something this poorly conceived and charging scalper prices for it is a fast way to lose both. I won't be returning, and my lunch companion feels the same. We feel very taken by a business we have always trusted to serve good food at a good price. How disappointing. I'd also advise anyone eating here to be very cautious about ordering any unposted "specials." read more

This place is a place for locals only it seems. Very old but upkeep was okay for the most part. Server was very rude and the food was just okay. Filled our bellys for the the last stretch to Reno from Vegas. If you don't mind inhaling cigarette smoke as you make your way to the diner, then this shouldn't be a problem for you. read more

Dini's is a terrific place to eat in Y-town. The servers are very friendly and they make sure everything goes as well as they can. During this time when things aren't going well for all restaurants, Dini's is doing great by their customers. Even as a visitor, we were treated just like the hometown folks. Stopped in here after a long day of wrestling at the Yerington high school. There was a nice All day clinic for wrestlers at the high school. So I asked the coach what would be a good place to go eat with sit down. He said the café inside this casino was pretty decent. So we headed over to see what they had. It's kind of a small café, and along with the regular café menu they have a buffet. Tonight it was a seafood buffet for about 16 or $17. We just wanted a burger or something light so we opted for the menu. I can tell you after looking at the pounds of crab legs, that the next time I come back we will try the seafood buffet as there was a lot of crab. I opted for the double cheeseburger and I am happy to say it was quite good,. It was charbroiled and had a decent set up of lettuce tomato onions and mayonnaise on it. I decided to have a garden salad instead of fries. The waitress was nice enough to put extra tomatoes when I requested. Two of my kids were cutting weight for next weeks regional tournament and they had a grilled chicken with fruit and cottage cheese dinner. One of the kids not cutting weight had the bacon cheeseburger. And finally one of the kids had a mushroom burger. All of the food was good and a inexpensive. The waitress was quite nice and immediately knew we were out of town. She asked was where we were from and how we liked the town. We will definitely come back again and try the seafood buffet as there were some really large crab legs. I recommend anyone who likes a nice charbroiled burger to try this place. read more

Working out of town. I can only review the restaurant and the bar. I don't gamble. At all. The bar is small and has TV's and has a pretty good line up of the essential alcohols. They even have some higher level Scotch Whiskys. Pricing is right on point for rural Nevada. But the star of this business is the diner/restaurant. Over the last few months I have been working in Yerington, I have eaten here at least every other night. Soup. Soup. Soup. Soup. Almost always it's a different soup. Cauliflower. Portuguese. Clam Chowder. etc. They have a new one each night, decided by the morning staff you get a surprise each time you walk in. The staff are always busy and always friendly and always making sure the guests are taken care of. I enjoy sitting at the counter because if I like, I can be in and out in less than 45 minutes. Especially on Buffet nights, where they have a nice American food layout. Chicken, Ribs, canned veggies, simple salad bar choices. The walk through the casino can be a bit smokey, but once you get inside the restaurant the air seems to be well filtered. A few notes.. When they do a special on the board try it. I've done it many times and every time it's been great. The Strawberry Blush Vinaigrette was a refreshing change. But get in early for the specials because they usually don't last very long. read more

It took me awhile to find this place, but I'm glad I found it and will definitely be back. It's a great option to have in my back pocket when traveling through Nevada. Big surprise: I don't live in Yerington. I travel through Yerington a few times a year, though, headed to or coming back from Las Vegas. For various reasons, a lot of my travel is done at night. There aren't a lot of eating options in Yerington late at night or early in the morning. I've been to the McDonald's many times... probably too many times. It's not horrible, but I'm not a huge fan of McD's in the first place and just felt like something else - and looking for "something else" led me to Lucky Dini's. LD's has a pretty extensive menu - typical diner food. After only one visit, I've got some exploring to do to find my favorites... but there are plenty of options to keep me busy for awhile. read more

If you could take a Waffle House and give it a rural Nevada edge you would probably get really close to LDC. This is as solid of a three star review as I have seen. Nothing wrong, but also nothing to brag about. The food was average, the prices are fair, the service was so-so, and the atmosphere was rural Nevada normal. There is street parking out front. There is a slope down when walking from the front door to the restaurant that will catch you off guard if you don't see it. 3 of the 5 of us in our party did not see it so I caught a pretty good laugh at those 3. The food is bland and the smell of smoke from the neighboring casino floor was overwhelming for me and used to give me headaches. The service is also lukewarm at best. It pretty much depends on which waitress you get when you go. What's weird is their other Restaurant, "Giuseppe's", a Steakhouse which what I was told is now closed, shared a kitchen with their main restaurant and it wasn't all that bad. Out of all the Steakhouses I've been to that one rated at the bottom, but it still wasn't bad. So why the main eatery can't get better food is beyond me. However, while I don't like it, it definitely is a (small) step up from the neighboring Pioneer Crossings restaurant which is absolutely terrible in every way imaginable. read more

Service was terrible becase server was rude. I have never felt so unwelcome at a business. I had an unplanned stay in town. I asked around and was recommended Dini's for the steak. It was after 7 when i was able to get over there but I had looked online which said open until 23:59. I started to say table for 1 but was cut off and asked if I was picking up an order. I said that I was there to dine in. It was 7:25 and the server said we close in 15 minutes so I will put you here and pointed to a booth. She brought menu and I said I would take water. She came back immediately and asked if I knew what I wanted and I said "no, I'm from out of town and I have never been here". I asked for a recommendation and she quickly said 2 items that were top sellers and I had to ask her to repeat herself. Then she walked across the room and watched me. I asked about the soup ( I had decided not to order steak or anything from fryer as to not delay their closing). I mentioned to the other employee I could just get it to go because they are closing and he said I had 30 minutes and it wasn't a problem. I got soup and half a salad. The dressing was brought before the meal which was strange and made me feel even more rushed. I ate the soup which was good and the only reason I am not making this a 1 review. The salad was "ok". Within 5 minutes I was brought a check and although I was still eating I felt pressured to get up and final my bill so that they could close their register. Overall, I agree with Tiffany and Karl on their reviews. Dini's is an old-time small town casino. It is smokey and the coffee shop is what you would expect. Living in Yerington is a little like being in a time-warp. Yes, Karl It does have a lot of charm that is hard to find in Nevada. There are some observations in Tiffany's review that are not quite accurate. The "one school (K-12)" is made up of 3 contiguous campuses with an enrollment of around 2,000 students. In addition to McDonalds, we also have a Subway and a Round Table Pizza. The lack of fast-food restaurants is actually a plus for me. There are a number of sit down restaurants - Round table Pizza (as mentioned above), China Chef, 3 Mexican Restaurants (at last count), two casino coffee shops and Giuseppe's Steak house at Dini's. There is also a cafe that serves really wonderful lunches, coffee, smoothies and Italian sodas at the Jeanne Dini Cultural Center. Way more than 2 stop signs in town! Yes, there are only two on Main Street (not counting all the stop signs on the side streets). As far as I know, we have NO stop lights. Just one blinkie light where 95A makes the turn into town. Don't most communities have only one Main Street? The length of Main Street from stop sign to stop sign is around a mile. You would need a pretty strong arm to throw a rock that far. You can get around town pretty quickly, but if you get caught behind a farm vehicle, it can take up to five minutes. I guess that is part of the charm of the city. Yes, Yerington is one of the few incorporated cities in Nevada. The much smaller sister of Las Vegas and Reno to be sure, but still a full fledged city. Enough about that. I am not sure if Tiffany ate at the coffee shop or the steak house, but I agree there is not much fare for a vegetarian. The staff at the steak house are very accommodating and I know George would be more than willing to come up with a vegetarian dish for you. They serve pasta and salads as well as seafood and the usual requisite prime rib and steaks. We have had many good meals there - some better than others. The service is always friendly and efficient and the waitresses pride themselves in knowing our preferences. The food is always fresh and effort is made to present the meals with panache while still maintaining the small-town friendly attitude. It is a bit like going to see a British drawing-room comedy at a good community theater. You know it is an act, but they are doing it really well. If you are in town on a Friday or Saturday night, Giuseppe's would be a good choice for dinner. If you are in town for an event, make a reservation. They do get busy. The Restaurant is worth the walk through the smokey old casino. read more

Dini's Lucky Club has been a Yerington fixture for years. The casino restaurant has an old and somewhat tired look. The Sixties called and they want their decor back. The servers were friendly and efficient. For a Sunday evening, the place was fairly busy. My wife had the hot turkey sandwich. The mashed potatoes were real and the turkey, while obviously pressed, was flavorful. I had the rib eye steak and a baked potato. The steak was flavorful but also a lower quality of meat. I knew for $16.95 it wouldn't be prime. However, the quality was acceptable for the price. Strangely, the baked potato was not slit open but that, too, is a minor quibble. The mixed vegetables were overcooked and so unappetizing that I didn't actually eat any of them. Ordinarily, a meal and service like this would earn between 3 and 4 stars. However, the casino is undergoing some kind of renovation and so the only men's restroom available was a cluster of Sanihuts in the parking lot -- and while they did not stink, they also had not been cleaned out in the recent past. Frankly, I expect more than a modern day outhouse if I need restroom facilities. That alone ALMOST caused me to give only 2 stars in my review. Hopefully the problems can be fixed and I will have a better experience next time. read more

A safe and edible choice in the charming town of Yerington, NV. Friendly service, diverse menu choices and decent seating make for a reasonable experience though our food choices for dinner did not wow. Breakfast was much better but the service levels and attentive wait staff stayed consistent. For dinner, our group dined on herbed chicken, Dried Chicken dinner, Fried Shrimp feast and dinner special of Pesto Chicken Tortellini. As stated, nothing earth shattering or memorable. The Dried (no pun intended) Chicken was a total disappointment. The Home Run here is William Hill Chardonnay for $4 a glass. That's a bargain big time for a good wine. Breakfast the next morning was #4 French Toast/Eggs/Sausage, the #3 Biscuits and Gravy w/ eggs/sausage and a side of eggs. Very standard but what more can you do with that. Combined with hot coffee and a generous pour of OJ it hit the spot just right. Either meal times you choose you won't be disappointed. I ordered a Denver Grill: but with egg whites, avocado, spinach, cheese on the side, no oils, no seasoning. Wheat Toast no butter. It comes with home potatoes so I asked for fruit instead. According to the waitress, everyone that saw the food thought it looked amazing. It really did for a small town diner. This review is about the Dini's Restaurant. The food is ok, most times that I have eaten there, but the service can be quite deplorable. I had an experience this morning where my friends and I pitched in and put an order in for the $3 special, and the server (Mary) who took the order, misunderstood and charged us for the regular breakfast (and honestly, there is not a huge difference between them). So she called me when the person we sent to pick up refused to pay because she was over charging us. I told her she made a mistake and she said she would have to call her manager and HUNG UP on me! What terrible service, and a poor example to leave. Dini's should be ashamed for having such UNFRIENDLY, uncooperative, RUDE, and mean-spirited staff. If you hate your job that much, don't take it out on the customers. If reflects poorly on the whole organization when they keep people like this around. read more
