Stopped in here after a long day of wrestling at the Yerington high school. There was a nice All day clinic for wrestlers at the high school. So I asked the coach what would be a good place to go eat with sit down. He said the café inside this casino was pretty decent. So we headed over to see what they had. It's kind of a small café, and along with the regular café menu they have a buffet. Tonight it was a seafood buffet for about 16 or $17. We just wanted a burger or something light so we opted for the menu. I can tell you after looking at the pounds of crab legs, that the next time I come back we will try the seafood buffet as there was a lot of crab. I opted for the double cheeseburger and I am happy to say it was quite good,. It was charbroiled and had a decent set up of lettuce tomato onions and mayonnaise on it. I decided to have a garden salad instead of fries. The waitress was nice enough to put extra tomatoes when I requested. Two of my kids were cutting weight for next weeks regional tournament and they had a grilled chicken with fruit and cottage cheese dinner. One of the kids not cutting weight had the bacon cheeseburger. And finally one of the kids had a mushroom burger. All of the food was good and a inexpensive. The waitress was quite nice and immediately knew we were out of town. She asked was where we were from and how we liked the town. We will definitely come back again and try the seafood buffet as there were some really large crab legs. I recommend anyone who likes a nice charbroiled burger to try this place.

Working out of town. I can only review the restaurant and the bar. I don't gamble. At all. The bar is small and has TV's and has a pretty good line up of the essential alcohols. They even have some higher level Scotch Whiskys. Pricing is right on point for rural Nevada. But the star of this business is the diner/restaurant. Over the last few months I have been working in Yerington, I have eaten here at least every other night. Soup. Soup. Soup. Soup. Almost always it's a different soup. Cauliflower. Portuguese. Clam Chowder. etc. They have a new one each night, decided by the morning staff you get a surprise each time you walk in. The staff are always busy and always friendly and always making sure the guests are taken care of. I enjoy sitting at the counter because if I like, I can be in and out in less than 45 minutes. Especially on Buffet nights, where they have a nice American food layout. Chicken, Ribs, canned veggies, simple salad bar choices. The walk through the casino can be a bit smokey, but once you get inside the restaurant the air seems to be well filtered. A few notes.. When they do a special on the board try it. I've done it many times and every time it's been great. The Strawberry Blush Vinaigrette was a refreshing change. But get in early for the specials because they usually don't last very long.

In downtown Yerington, we stoped at the diner. The service was nice and they served generous portions. The fries were hot.

Good consistent food and service. The food is good and the staff is very friendly. They get busy pretty quickly and can get overwhelmed.

So this review had to wait until I could know I wasn't going back very soon. I stayed here for roughly about 3 months straight. It's a nice little family owned motel. It's definitely not the weekly motel vibe that you might get on 4th street in Reno. But a "small town" motel vibe that you might have gotten back in the heyday of motels in new interstates before freeways. There is nothing fancy about Main Street Inn, but if you are in Yerington for more than a potty break, you probably should already understand that there is nothing really fancy about Yerington. This is a town of friendly real people. Not fake city people that plaster on that smile because of some creepy corporate guideline. The town is probably the most welcoming town in all of rural Nevada for me. The office is populated by a bunch of locals filling in the hours. So there may be small spot of time you wont have anyone at the front desk. This is really a mom and pop business. The room I was in for most of my time in town was just right for my needs. Each room has it's own character it seems. Mine had lots of drawers to keep stuff in as well. All of the staff, including the owner was always pleasant and as helpful as possible when I interacted with them. If I could get this good of service at the high end hotels I stay at on vacation, I might never come home! The only real negatives that I can think of are that they don't have great parking for larger vehicles. So that might be a consideration if you have a large vehicle it could be a tiny walk from where you have to park your car. All of the businesses are within walking distance of the Inn as well. I highly recommend Dini's Coffee Shop.

The first place had beautiful views of the Tomales Bay but no real amenities or ambiance, and felt more like a gravel gathering place for RVs than a campground or RV resort, so I was pleasantly surprised as we drove through beautiful Smith Valley and made our way into the cottonwood grove of Walker River Resort. As you arrive the roads are well marked and signs easy to follow through to registration. There's a nice little clubhouse that has the bar/lounge, office, and pool deck. The staff was friendly and helpful getting us checked in and to our site and acclimated to the resort. The grounds are well kept and the sites nicely shaded by the mature trees. Ours was #2 and had a nice view of the pond. I had been told that much mean mosquitoes but the pond also had two continuous fountains that kept the water moving and helped keep them at bay. Each site has a picnic table and ours had water and electric. Ours had 30amp, which is exactly what we needed, but unless we read it wrong, the website seemed to suggest they only had 50 on property so I hope this info is helpful. I understand some sites have full hookups, but don't worry if you can't get one because there's an on site dump too. Amenities were good imho. The pool deck was nice, with loungers, tables?, chairs, and a small lawn section to sprawl out on. There was also a hot tub (18+) and bathrooms. The pool itself was on the smaller side and full of kids and families, which was great. The sealant/coating of the pool seemed like it was peeling off a bit and the pool was def not heated, so be prepared for a chilly dip. Whole cold, we found it super refreshing for us after our days in the desert! Great to have this available while staying here! We also got to use the shotgun sports ranges, which I must say was my favorite amenity! The ranges are located outside the resort and you drive to them. Facilities are maintained enough to have a great time. Two sporting clays courses and five stand are available, and to use them you check out a counter in the clubhouse and they check it and charge you on your return. Bring your own ammo and gun and have fun! They also have a desert golf course (with clubs and balls you can use), easy access to OHV lands for dirt bikes and other toys, plus direct private access to the river for fishing and swimming too, when the river is moving a bit slower. All in all I was very happy with our stay and I hope the property continues to improve because I'd like to come back!
