Not only does this place have amazing food, the staff make you feel like you are part of the family. They keep the restaurant clean and beautifully decorated. Such great atmosphere. The restaurant and staff are so welcoming. The music and decor is not too loud but authentic. I had a wonderful dinner experience with my brother this evening. We were greeted by Carmen and served by Marcos. Very pleasant and inviting family owned business, everyone was so pleasant. I love chatting with Carmen. And our server Marcos was very attentive and sweet. Our chips and drinks stayed full. The food was beautifully presented and so very tasty. My tastebuds were dancing. Haha I ordered the Taco Acapulco. 3 corn tortilla tacos with shrimp, scallops and halibut. It's my favorite! Fresh and so very tasty! I truly cannot believe I'm even having to write this. Our experience was the worst experience I have EVER had at a restaurant. When we initially walked in at 8:30, we were greeted by the owners who seemed very polite and happy to see us. They encouraged us to order quickly so the cooks could go home, which we were happy to do. As we were eating, the owners kept coming by our table, telling us to "eat and drink faster." We specifically checked the hours prior to coming because we knew it was late and didn't want to cause any inconvenience. So, we ate and were finishing up when the male owner came by our table, yelling "you need to get out!" at 9:30. Our group was appalled. We had no idea they were this upset or that the wait staff was trying to close early as well. Our group is an understanding group- if you let us know you are closing the restaurant early, we would never want to cause any trouble. We have all worked in customer service. But, we were never told, all posted hours say 10, then the male owner starts yelling without any reasonable warning. The female owner initially tries to calm him down, but then after the male continues to make comments, the female says "we don't need your business anyways!" The entire group was STUNNED. I have never been treated so poorly over something that could truly have been solved by the owners simply saying "Hey, we would like to close early tonight if you wouldn't mind to help us out on time." The group was not unruly. The group was not drunk. The group was not disrespectful. We were two couples at dinner after working long shifts and just prior to going home to bed. Unfortunately, I will never recommend this place and will never be back. read more

Our server was so rude and passive aggressive. An older lady with short black hair (so you know who you are and hopefully will see this and learn to be a little more polite). Long story short she treated us like we were annoying her, she did not refill drinks or check on us AND she borderline physically assaulted my husband over a tip. She was so upset our friends (who paid for our meal) didn't give her an adequate tip that she shoved the receipt into my husbands face (like one inch from his face) and demanded he give her more tip. Insane. She absolutely got the tip she deserved and tbh I wish we would have asked to revoke what tip we gave her bc wtf? Who does that? I'm sorry if you are going through something lady but.... All you had to do to get a nice tip was be nice. Anyways. The food is ok. Nothing special. Rice was awful imo. Will not be going back. read more

My first time coming to El Dorado- 9/26/22. I was pretty impressed but left off a star for, you guessed it, service. The inside is very well dgiving me 'coco' vibes it was very cute in there. The chips and salsa were pretty good, our second basket of free chips came out warm. They were more heavily cooked than I like but they were good. Salsa was pretty good too, the spicy was actually a little spicy. For dinner I got 1 cheese enchilada and 1 chicken chimichanga with rice and beans. The rice and beans were very good, I wish there were a bigger portion. The enchilada and chimichanga were pretty big in size and they were very good. Came with sour cream and quac. Didn't want the quac tho. I got them off the pick 1,2, or 3 items portion of the menu. The other enchiladas on the menu had green sauce which I want to try next time. I also didn't get a margarita which I plan to next time. Oops I didn't take any pictures but I will next time. The service was slow and it wasn't very busy. We have tried this restaurant a few times now and each time the service has been horrible. It took forever for the food to come out. It wasn't hot whatsoever. Barely lukewarm is more like it. I'd understand the food taking long to come out had they been busy but there were only six people in the restaurant. Not six tables but two tables with three individuals at them each. I doubt they'll get another chance from us. Their decor was very nice. Sadly, this was the only positive thing going for it. read more

Friendly. Very friendly! And honest - my dad forgot his credit card inside and the manager ran it out to the car. Hot salsa makes no apologies (which I loved). It's got some bite to it. Unlike the hot salsa at nearly every other Mexican restaurant I've tried in Anchorage, Eagle River, and the Valley. The sour cream was very tasty. I can't say why. It didn't look any different than normal sour cream. But it tasted different. Maybe sweeter?!? Take out needs some work. Everything was squished. Each meal was placed on a plate wrapped in aluminum foil and then another plate was placed on top of that. Each meal was then stacked one on top of each other in a bag. This meant that every crunchy tacos was in pieces by the tine we got home and unwrapped the meals. But the flavors were all there. My recommendation is to get items that don't mind being squished. For reals...I count going to this restaurant among one of the best choices I made recently...! I was visiting Anchorage, and was wanting breakfast, but in the back of my tummy's mind, I knewI really wanted a Chicken Chimichunga....LOL...so I searched Yelp, and thankfully, it was VERY CLOSE TO ME, and I went. Always up for an adventure! When I walked in the staff was so pleasant and happy to see me. I was served chips and salsa, and just FYI, the black salsa cup is the HOT one....I don't know if that's an 'industry standard' (LOL)...but they are both delish. I was served fresh, hot beautiful food in a matter of a few short minutes....like 5-7 minutes. It was early, before lunch rush, but from what I saw with the other customers as they trickled in, that was pretty standard...fast! The restaurant did start hopping, shortly after I arrived, and each customer was greeted with the staffs joyful welcomes....it was just lovely. The Chicken Chimichunga and Beef Tamale I ordered for the lunch special was ridiculously amazing. I meant it when I said it was one of the best choices I've made recently. Fairly priced, wonderfully staffed, fabulous food. Nothing to wonder about...go...and then go back. I'm ALMOST glad I don't live in the area...I am sure I'd spend way too much time here. I wanted to really like this place as the people are wonderful. But, I was disappointed. The chips and homemade salsa were wonderful for starters. The house margarita was not. It had a carbonated taste to it. Try the Cadillac, which I did not. Service was inattentive but very friendly. I ordered chicken chipotle. The refried beans were awesome. The fresh mushrooms and onions and spices were great but it could have been more creamy and it was WAY TOO SALTY. Portions were very large. Ambience is OK. The waiter took my order a few minutes later, and then a few minutes later still, my order came out. I got the "El Jefe" which is steak and enchiladas. It was delicious. I told the gentleman that brought the food out that I'd like a Negro Modelo. That's the last I saw of anyone working in the place :( My beer never came. My tab never came. No one checked in on me, it was like I vanished. I had to be on my way so I went to the front counter to pay, as I had been waiting on the check for 20 minutes. When I was asked "how was everything?" I was honest about what I described above. The cashier told me they were busy, and that was pretty much that. 3-stars because the food is great. AMAZING customer service! I tried this place and ordered take out with a super easy phone call, and from the start it was a super friendly voice. When I arrived the woman who cashiered me was all smiles and pleasant vibes. I didn't even care what the food tasted like after such a lovely experience. It did turn out the food was quite good. We were warmly greeted by the effervescent hostess/waitress and seated right away in a cozy booth and brought us two baskets of chips & salsa. The four of us ordered different dinners-two combination with beef taco & cheese enchilada and cheese enchilada, tamale and chile relleno, steak fajitas and shrimps taco & chile relleno. Everything was delicious, especially the Chile rellenos. Throw in a couple of margaritas, the waitress coming by to chat with us, and it made for a great end to a very long travel day. I've passed this place on Tudor for 3.5 YEARS and never even realized It was here! Saw the high reviews on Yelp when I had a taste for good Mexican food. (That "King" place is trash.) I came in and was immediately wowed by the instant feel of being transported to the southern AZ, northern Mexico I was familiar with. I got a hit of that home made salsa and I was SOLD. The HOT and the mild mixed made me HAPPY instantly! I tried a wine margarita and I knew I had a new spot!! I got the 3 combo plate. Rice that was seasoned well with beans that are seasoned too....ummmphhh! Taco, Chile relleno, and a burrito! All 3 were great but that beef taco...brought me back today. 2 beef and one chicken taco...mango wine margaritas today and Ramon! Excellent food! Beautifully decorated. Superior customer service!
