I have been back to this place several times now. I am thrilled to find a small TexMex restaurant that makes food as good or better than El Toro. They are small enough to remember you and treat you like family. The first time I was there , I called my daughter and told her how good everything was that I wandered to bring her something to taste. She asked for a chicken ancho latte and when the waitress came, she said no charge for this. The next time I was there I told them how much my wife loved their home made chips. This time after I ordered, the waitress asked "Don't you want some chips for your wife?" She remembered that my wife was in the hospital. I said yes. After having a wonderful lunch, I got ready to leave and she handed me a free bag of chips for my wife. I love this place. This is a small "Mom and Pop" type restaurant and the owners are most pleasant. Not big enough for waitresses and waiters, but the food is delicious. We are from Southern Arizona and we are getting used to Georgia's version of Mexican food. I haven't said this in a restaurant review lately, but there is a real value for the money. I saw some good reviews for El lobo so I decided to try it, since with was 5 min from where I'm staying...I was quite disappointed.. I ordered the enchilada, two hard tacos, one with beef and one with chicken and a horchata. The chips and salsa were good. The enchilada was ok. But, when I finally decided to bite into the hard tacos.. they got really soggy.. and didn't have the crunch I was looking for, and was flavorless, but the horchata was good. The service was good since I was the only one in the restaurant when I visited on a random Wednesday. The ambiance was ok. It was just a plain restuarant. No music or anything. I probably won't go back again. But, I would still say go try it for yourself since everyone's experience might be different than mine. read more

Be surprised with this restaurant. For starters, restaurant is clean and services is attentive. We started with the cheese dip. Cheese appears different from other Mexican restaurants. I've been to with a choice for different toppings. we went with the chicken topping. I believe there was also a steak and maybe vegetarian option. The cheese dip was excellent. We finished every drop of it. I went with the steak burrito. The steak inside the burrito was pleasantly surprising. I was expecting the usual overcooked chewy steak that you find in most burritos, however, here steak looks like it was maybe cooked separately and was nice and tender. I was super happy with my meal. We got the #17, a burrito, enchilada, and chalupa. Along with a cheese quesadilla for the young one it came to $18, then tip. Hard to find that much food for that good of a price these days. But mainly, the food. Salsa has a nice kick to it and the salsa Verde was good as well, with the complimentary chips. The burrito and enchilada are mostly just meat and tortilla. More veggies would be better but it was still excellent, and the sauces on point. We really liked our meals at El Lobo. The folks running the place are very friendly. I had the chilaquiles and it was the best I had had anywhere. The explained that they were expecting to get their liquor license soon so we didn't get to try the Margaritas yet, but we will be going back soon. Really good to see some old faces the owner and his wife use to manage a Mexican place in Chamblee I ate at for 12 years. The owner must have been holding them back because at El Lobo is some of the best Mexican food I'v had since Felix's in San Antonio 40 years ago.
