Came in here on a Saturday night, it wasn't busy at all and we were able to sit right away. Our waiter was nice, the food way good and came out nice and fast. I have already been back. The food is nothing extraordinary but it helps curb the Mexican food cravings! Will be visiting again! read more

I'm assuming they're newer because this is the first review. When on a Saturday afternoon and it was crowded. Good sized lunch menu that we order off of. Portions were a good size and for as busy as it was the wait wasn't too bad. Also got guacamole that they make at your table. Margaritas are well made and are big. Overall a good experience. Like their pager system. Well staffed and an extensive menu. Margarita flight had good pours and well presented. Like the salsa but our chips were not fresh or warm which was a bummer. The chicken items were disappointing with little flavor. (Seriously thought it came from a can.) The beef tip was good but not great. This place is a most amazing joint. Lots of seating, nice bar, friendly staff. You are greeted with a basket of chips and salsa upon arrival. The tacos de birria are to die for, with that side dish of broth. Many flavors of margarita, perfectly balanced. Need one in Aiken, SC!!! read more

One Star - El Dorado Mexican Restaurant If you're looking for the soul of Mexico, keep driving. El Dorado isn't serving it -- they're microwaving it. The refried beans? Straight from a can, metallic aftertaste and all. Uncle Ben's Mexican rice on the side, like something scraped off a school cafeteria tray. And the chicken? It's the same pre-cooked, bagged fajita strips you'll find in the frozen aisle at Walmart, right next to the tater tots and frozen meatballs. In the words of Anthony Bourdain: "Good food is very often, even most often, simple food." Unfortunately, what's being dished out here isn't simple -- it's lazy. This isn't homage, it's hostage cuisine. A sad, shrink-wrapped imitation of something that deserves better. El Dorado markets itself as Mexican, but this is Tex-Mex without the Tex or the Mex -- just bland, corporate convenience masquerading as dinner. I've had more authentic meals in gas stations. This is the most disgusting mexican food I've ever eaten. I've done extensive traveling to Mexico and this isn't even close. The carne asada tacos had a nasty aroma when they brought them to the table. The meat was chopped so fine it looked like ground beef. It was clear the meat never touched a charcoal grill so there was no asada there. $20 for 3 inedible tacos. I swear to god I wish I would've had a feast at Taco Bell instead. My husband and I enjoyed our lunch there today and everything was delicious! He had a peach Margherita and I had the raspberry and both were delicious in a generous sized glass! Fresh made tortilla chips and house salsa were delivered promptly as we sipped our beverages and awaited our meals. Our meals were delicious!m and I brought takeout home after stuffing and eating 3 soft tortillas from the fixings from my plate of Pollo Puerco! I really don't like to leave bad reviews but I will because I have to out of respect for my culture. Im from northern Mexico, proudly SONORA and I know people from the south don't know how to cook but they can all make rice and in this case they didn't, well this place is everything but not Mexican at all. It is nice they hang Mexican art on the walls and they play "spanish" music in the background this can fool any gringo but not a mexican the food is so bad that left me speechless and just so sad to be so far away from home. I will stop trying all these 'mexican'places in Plattsburgh because it jus reminds me that if you want mexican food you have to be in Mexico. Please restaurant owners don't fool gringos to think this is Mexican food maybe tell the truth that this is Salvadorian, Cambodian, Peruvian, Guatemalan BUT not Mexican. read more
