The margarita was quite good, asked for it with no simple syrup bc I don't like my drinks sweet and they were happy to accommodate. The tacos were decent, I did a poblano and a nopales, the corn sauce on the poblano was a little much, but the tortillas were flavorful and held up to the variety of fillings stuffed into each one. The queso, however, was meh and congealed by the time our tacos arrived. 4 star service, 3 star food

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon and was able to seat myself promptly. It's kinda small, but just enough space and cute decor. I ordered a strawberry pineapple margarita, fish taco, and a chicken taco. I was impressed by it all. The margarita was very strong with fresh strawberries. I only needed one to start feeling it, which is rare. Both tacos were delicious, I can't even pick a favorite. I'll definitely come back!

Yummy tacos that can be ordered a la carte. This time I got shrimp but I have also had the vegetarian which are wonderful. My friend really enjoyed her chicken tacos. They are quite generous with chicken portions. We sat outside and it was nice - a little chilly but wanted to take advantage of still being able to be outdoors. Our server was friendly and food came right out.

Super cute Mexican Restaurant in Oak Park. We went on a Sunday and every table was taken by the time we left. They serve breakfast till 2pm so my wife had the Huevos con Nopales which she loved. I had 3 tacos...Carne Asada which was my favorite.super juicy and stuffed with meat and onions. Their homemade red sauce was fantastic. Also had a Pollo taco and Camaron taco. Both were delicious and they were only 4.95 each! For drinks I had a Tecate and my wife had their Agua de Jamaica. Friendly staff, great service and fantastic food . Colorful decor makes you feel like you are back in Mexico! A+

This was their first day open on Sundays and it was a very wise move because they were very busy. That didn't stop the service from being great. The food is so fresh, tasty and the portions very generous. The corn tortillas are homemade and not at all oily. The decor is cute and feels like a trip to Mexico with all the bright colors. The bathroom was clean and well equipped with a baby changing table and modern hand dryer. Street parking can be had if you are patient. I recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

Hecho is small and feels a little like a hole in the wall, but the food is excellent. We started with chips, salsa and guacamole. The red salsa was zippy but not too hot. Guacamole was excellent. I was happy with the number of vegetarian Taco options that were available. I had the Napolitos and the Jamaica. The former was good, the ladder was amazing. Contained marinated and sautéed hibiscus, pineapple and black bean parade. The flavors married together really well. The cocktail options were excellent as well. I had the Hatch of margarita. I would've drank. It is good, not great. My niece had the cucumber margarita which was amazing. That was a perfect combination of cool and tart. Great restaurant for a quick bite to eat and creative food.

Hecho en Oak Park has delicious tacos! Everytime I go I get the hibiscus tacos. They have lots of flavor! My sister always gets the carne asada tacos and says they are delish! The music is always good and they are very friendly. Street parking available

I love the fish tacos here. The very best I've had outside of Mexico! The salsa topping is the bomb. The shrimp tacos are also excellent.

The meal started with complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered a mezcal margarita (fruta picanta) and my friend got a mango cocktail (mangasa). I liked mine a lot, my friend didn't care for the tajin rim on hers, and the waiter offered to replace it, but she stuck with it and liked it in the end. There were so many great sounding things on the menu, with gluten free and vegetarian options. We ended up splitting the calabaza- an acorn squash stuffed with mushroom risotto and also the wild mushroom tostada. The calabaza was great for winter, warm and filling. The tostada was lighter but really delicious, it was probably my favorite of the two. It was a great dinner, that I would definitely visit again if I'm back in town.

Thank goodness we had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server Meyah was super friendly. We started with a few cocktails ..one being the Oaxacan Old Fashion..smokey and delicious. We tried their Market Ceviche which was on their Weekly Specials menu..Cured Mahi Mahi Brazilian Papaya,Tangerine Habanero sauce served with Sweet Potato chips.fresh and delicious. For our entrees we tried the Barbacoa Tacos and Blackened Fish(Tilapia) tacos. Both entrees were 21.00 for 3 tacos but no rice or beans on the side so a little pricey in my opinion. Street parking is a challenge but they do offer valet for 5.00. They have a fantastic patio that is open in the summer so we will definitely be back to enjoy a few cocktails and Latin American eats.

The vibe inside is perfect for an intimate evening or afternoon lunch. Dark wood seating, an ample sized bar with dim lighting makes this a comfortable, chic spot. There is street side outdoor seating; however, there were no table umbrellas during our visit. The staff greeted us immediately and was happy to review the menu with us. We had the mole with roasted broccoli and cauliflower, unicorn pescado tacos and a Plato Fuerte with shrimp, lobster and chicken in a tasty creamy sauce. We loved all of the entrées; however, thought the mole was a lacking the traditional mole flavors we've tried before. The unicorn fish tacos were the standout and were crispy and delicious! We also appreciated the 4 taco serving, which was perfect for two. Prices were on point with other similar style restaurants in Oak Park, slightly elevated but fair for the quality of ingredients. Let's not forget the cocktails...outstanding!

On the downside, the bone marrow was undercooked, and we actually found a piece of aluminum foil in the mac and cheese that was prepared without truffle (menu states truffle). They remade it but it was a miss for us. The tres leches was underwhelming and a bit dry. Service was good--our waitress was attentive--but she didn't seem to know the menu very well. For example, we were told the street corn wouldn't be on the cob, but it was. Overall, some hits and some misses. Ambiance is ok - there's nothing that stands out. Drinks and mains were good, but a few things really missed the mark. For the price I don't think I would return.

We were seated & given menus. The waitress asked us about drinks but did no suggested selling of anything, did not mention lunch specials or enlighten us about the many flavors, sizes of margaritas. They brought out chips & salsa for the table & we ordered a side of guacamole. It was made table side by was very bland. It lacked flavor & was underwhelming. It needed salt & more lime juice. Another waitress approached our table to take our meal orders. She was quiet, spoke very little English & couldn't answer any specific questions about the menu. Our drinks arrived. they were good but nothing spectacular. 2 members of our party, ordered tacos & 2 ordered chimichangas When our food arrived, we dug right in. My Chimichanga was dressed up nice from the outside but the minute I bit into it, EEE YUCK!!!!The filling inside lacked flavor & meat tasted like rubber. It was filled with pureed refried beans. The beans were overly pureed & running out the burrito. None of the ingredients binded together. The consistency of beans to meat ratio was not well balanced for the filling thus making the dish terrible. I also noticed a huge amount of oil/grease soaked into the shell, which made it impossible to enjoy any further. The chimichangas were overall, made poorly & were disgusting!!!!. There was too much oil, indicating the grease was not drained from the burrito after frying & the filling's consistency was off. The consensus amongst my entire party of 6, was that the steak meat in all of our dishes was over cooked, very tough, hard to chew & was not seasoned. The bill came with so many add on charges that we had to inquire about. The waitress need to inform guests that chips n salsa is not complimentary after 1 basket, specific flavors of margaritas cost different prices & "suiza" (cheese) on dishes is an additional fee. Most sauces (sour cream) usually accompanies your meal. It should not be an additional charge for those. The bill was altered, finalized & paid after discussing the many add ons that were not mentioned up front with the waitress. In closing, this place does not meet the mark for Mexican cuisine. The chips n salsa & margarita was ok but the food was bland & overcooked! No reason to return to Margaritas ever again.
