Kinda like getting the 13th place participation ribbon; fitting for Inkladore. Long story short, Inkladore made appointments only after receiving our deposits; then agreed to see three of us for a group tattoo session. But, 2 weeks later, we show up - not enough tattoo artists and they seemed to forget their commitment to us for the $150 we deposited. After 45-minute wait (with other customers being serviced), we were told there was only 1 tattoo artist, for 2 (not 3) of us, and she was currently busy; so we asked for our $'s back. Poor guy at the desk called the manager, who on speaker phone (for everyone in the store to hear) say, "tell that Bxxxx to Shut the Fxxx Up" when my wife asked for our $150 back.... (it gets better....). The person shouting at everyone then stated, "you aren't getting your $'s back, get out of my store". Finally, I asked for the owner's contact info (as required by the BBB) and was refused that info, then told by the poor guy at the desk, "leave the store now or I'm calling the police". The only silver lining of this tragic story, I finally found THE WORST run business on the planet in over six decades! I did so much research before booking an appointment with Jen because I specifically wanted to get my nipples pierced. I wanted to go to someone with experience and all the reviews online pointed to Jen! getting an appointment was not difficult, you can book online. paperwork must be completed prior to your appointment. when you first arrive, you need to text the number on the door before they let you in. once you are inside, they'll confirm your piercing of choice with you and then Jen pops out of nowhere and takes you into a room! she let me start off with any questions I had and boy, did I have a lot. I had gone down an internet rabbit hole and I knew I needed to speak to an actual professional before the piercing. Jen is a saint with the patience of an angel. she showed me a few photos and helped me figure out if I wanted a vertical or horizontal nipple piercing. she will make sure everything is consensual prior to doing it. I got to pick out my jewelry prior to the piercing and she sanitized the jewelry in the room. now, I knew I went with the right piercer when Jen took her sweet, sweet time marking my nipples. not only did she take her time, she made sure it was even and looked good. I was so impressed with her ability to eyeball a nipple and to get it centered. Jen will mark your nipples a few dozen times, but you want that because the last thing you want is a freaking lopsided piercing so trust the process! when we started the actual process of piercing, she went through how she was going to pierce it and had me take a deep breath to help with the nerves. a nipple piercing seriously hits a little differently than a piercing on your ear. the pain didn't last very long and Jen asked if I needed additional time before piercing my other nipple....which I declined because I really just wanted it done after the piercings, she had me lay there for a bit before sitting up. I know getting up too fast can make some people light headed especially after a piercing and she explained, it can happen especially when the blood flow is redirected after a procedure like so. she went over healing, what to do and what not to do after the piercing and cleaning with me. all in all, Brilliance Piercing is highly recommended. I truly can't thank Jen enough for dealing with my hundreds of questions, making sure my piercings would look good, making sure I was comfortable every step of the way and most of all for just being one of the best professional piercers I have ever encountered. if you're interested in piercing your body in anyway, I cannot recommend Jen enough. she only works two days a week now so for me to snag a 4:50 PM appointment on a Thursday with her was a blessing. also big shout out to Keightley and Elizabeth for their fantastic customer service. they answered all my questions and were super patient with me as well!

Be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars once you factor in the premium jewelry they require you to purchase. Their piercing appointments are scheduled for an hour, yet the actual piercing only takes about 5-10 minutes. A significant portion of the appointment is spent discussing and selling jewelry. The real problem came with the follow-up downsizing appointment. After they emailed me to schedule it, the earliest availability was about a month out. As a new mom coordinating childcare for a baby and making a 40-minute drive through NoVA traffic is not easy. The downsizing appointment itself is only scheduled for 20 minutes, which made what happened next even more frustrating. Unfortunately, there was a lot of traffic on a Saturday and I arrived 12 minutes late. When I got there, a front desk lady met me at the door and refused to let me in. My appointment was canceled on the spot because I hadn't called or texted to say I was running late. I was driving and not checking my phone, which apparently didn't matter. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no sympathy whatsoever for any circumstances. I was told another client was waiting in their car. So after waiting a month for an appointment, arranging my schedule around a baby, and driving 40 minutes, I left without receiving any service at all. Their policies may be their policies, but customer service matters too. The experience felt cold, inflexible, and completely dismissive. Given how much time is built into their appointments and how heavily they emphasize jewelry sales, I was surprised there was absolutely no flexibility for a customer who was a little late due to traffic. There are plenty of piercing studios out there, and after this experience, I would absolutely not waste time here. The prices are already high, and the lack of consideration for customers and new moms made me feel like a lesser person.

I normally get skin hives from environmental stressors but my tattoo was only slightly red immediately after and not hiving at all in the recovery. It is healing really well, too. I knew I wasn't going to take her to Claire's & I was worried about piercing her ears while they would still be growing. in comes Rachel, who came highly recommend on the Google and reddit. I booked the appointment for the end of November for Rachel since I figured this would give my daughter enough time to back out if she changed her mind. she did not. so the day after Thanksgiving, we went over to Mosaic to get her ears pierced. they let her pick out her earrings first and were so great. they let her hold the earrings up to her ear to give her a visual and gave her plenty of time to pick. Rachel sanitized everything and took her into the piercing room once she was ready. Rachel marked her ears a little higher up so when she grows, it'll be more centered as she got older. then came the first piercing, which my sensitive soul daughter took very personally. she refused to get her second ear pierced claiming she couldn't go through with it. with Rachel, my SIL, my husband and I trying to provide positive encouragement to continue on. Rachel ended up giving her the option to go grab some lunch to relax after the first piercing and to come back after. after our ramen lunch, we went back to get her second piercing. obviously it wasn't an easy task getting her to go through with it. I ended up having her sit down on my lap with Katseye playing just so Rachel could finish it. so to the amazing Rachel (who just came back from maternity leave!!), thank you! my daughter loves her piercings now and can't/won't stop looking at them. I asked a question about my original cartilage piercing and I was told that the piercer used a barbell that was too short and there was no way for the piercing to swell and heal properly. My earring was changed but I was charged for a new earring, even though they used the wrong one in the first place. A few weeks later I was cleaning the conch piercing and the earring fell out, and because it was a small earring that screwed into the back, it was not easy to put back in myself or with my husband's help. I called Embassy Tattoo to ask if they could put my earring back in for me, and they said they weren't taking jewelry changes that day because they were running a special for only new piercings. When I said it wasn't a new piercing, it was a 3 week old piercing that fell out, they told me it didn't matter and to stop by the next day. I definitely wasn't waiting a day to put a new piercing back into my ear when it was throbbing, swelling, and would definitely close by then. I went to another tattoo shop nearby who, after saying a new piercing should not have been a screw-in earring, changed the earring for one that snapped in. They also took a look at the new piercing and the original cartilage I got at Embassy Tattoo and said both were pierced on an angle which makes it harder to heal (as I've been experiencing over these last few months). While the staff at Embassy Tattoo are great, I don't see myself going back to after this.
