It's a cute, small Spanish restaurant. I randomly stopped by one night very late to grab some food. I arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but they still let me sit and place an order, which I appreciated. The restaurant has a small outdoor area on a little veranda, and the indoor area that isn't very big either. The design of the place is simple but pretty. The menu offers a nice variety - from small tapas to large main dishes like paella. I decided to try two hot tapas: ham croquettes and octopus with boiled potatoes. The croquettes were good, but not super delicious. The octopus dish, however, tasted fantastic; I really enjoyed it! Price-wise, the place does seem a bit pricey. For 4 small pieces of Serrano ham croquettes I paid $13, and the octopus was $20. Tapas usually don't cost that much, even at many other restaurants around Miami that I've been to. And considering that the croquettes were just okay in quality, I definitely think they should lower the prices a bit. Another annoying thing about this place - the 18% tip is automatically included in the bill. I truly hate when restaurants in Miami do that! And honestly, in this case, I wouldn't have tipped my waitress that high. She wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. She gave me literally 2 minutes to choose my food (yes, I know I came late, but still...), took my order, brought it, and only came back once she noticed I had finished, just to ask if I was ready for the check. She didn't even ask how the food was. In my opinion, this wasn't 18% tip-worthy service. To sum up: I'm glad I tried this place. I might come back one day to try something else from the menu. We felt like we were dining in a friend's living room and it was amazing. We had a reunion with friends we met in Spain and were seeking out a tapas spot to bring back the memories. The restaurant is tiny, with one big table and only two or three small tables. I therefore recommend getting reservations in advance if you plan on dining here. The food is a mix of Spanish and Argentinian tapas, and the owner is from Argentina. The menu was very similar to what you would find in Spain though. We ordered one of almost everything and enjoyed every bite. The jamon, manchego, and bread was amazing. As was the pulpo (octopus), calamari, shrimp, tortilla, jamón croquetas, patatas bravas, and salad. We were celebrating our friend's birthday, so when I mentioned it to the owner, he was awesome and brought her out a flan with a candle - so kind. The prices were reasonable and we had a great time talking to the owner for awhile. The restaurant is located just minutes away from the Wynwood neighborhood, which we still took a few-minute Uber to afterwards, as the neighborhood seemed a little sus at night. This restaurant really lives up to its name, which means "hidden corner tapas", as it is very easy to just walk by without noticing it. We may or may not have done just that. The tapas are pretty much all excellent. I would highlight the fried octopus as a must-have. In contrast, the patatas bravas can be safely skipped. In theory, they offer paella, but due to staffing changes their paella chef was actually working front of house. While he was very kind and hospitable, I do hope he's able to get back to paella-making in the near future. Lastly, if you drive, they do have free parking, which is a nice perk. Rincon Escondido is a small, cozy place perfect for savoring a quiet meal, despite being on an incredibly busy street. Maybe it's just the magic of tapas. read more

Super Small dining area. A handful of tables inside and then a few high tops/ tables outside. Very casual and service was a bit slow but to be fair only one person working. Had a red sangria, a glass of Tempranillo and empanada sample. The empanadas didn't have that much meat inside but enjoyed the fact that they were BAKED Empanadas! Would be interested to see what their other tapas are but not making not making a giant effort to go back. Again, it's been a while since we've been here. Still so good. We decided to stay with the tapas. The restaurant filled up really quickly and we were glad for that decision. The tables a small, and the timing perfect, one dish almost magically followed the other, fresh from the stove. First came the octopus a la placha, cooked perfectly with a side small salad. Next were the tortilla de patatas with a garlicy mayonaise, followed by the utterly delicious mushrooms in sherry sauce. I want to find this recipe. Finally was the luscious gambas al ajillo. Sangria had great flavor, loved the garlic dipping sauce with croquetas and the paella was moist, flavorful and huge! Make sure you give yourself time as it takes over an hour for them to make fresh. The food here is literally like something you'd reheat at home when you have leftovers. I came with a friend and it was us and one other table. The same person who takes your order also cooks the food, although it was clearly microwaved other than the fries. Appetizers were meh. We ordered the chicken manchengo dish and the picture attached is what we got. But when the credit card slip came, there was a line for a tip, with no mention that the tip was already included. I had hitched a ride to Miami w my work bound hubby one day. So dramatic is the after-work traffic, and as tired/h-angry as I was, I insisted we stop somewhere on Biscayne Blvd to wait it out. As I waited for my poor hubby's 45minute 3-mile drive to pick me up, I found Rincon on Yelp. As tiny as the place looked in the pictures, I prayed we'd be able to be seated, I didn't want to make reservations since I had no idea how long the 1-mile drive to therebwould be. Parking was tricky, particularly whenever hubby's precious set of wheels (the death star as we call it) is involved. We ended up parking across the street on a meter so he could keep a hawk eye on it. The owners told us later that they did have free parking in the back. The restaurant is tucked next to a motorcycle shop, a collection of hot bikes are displayed there. On the porch, there are high tables were you could eat outside, but the charm is more appreciated when you sit inside. Charming, warm tiny little place, obviously updated based on some older Yelp and Gggl pics we saw. We were greeted and seated by a very sweet lady, who was also cooking later. Place settings are simple yet elegant, even though I must've looked like I had been bashed and beaten down from an 8 hour workout instructor event, they treated my suited beau and myself like we were long lost family coming to dine for the first time. We were the only ones at first, but the restaurant slowly started filling up and was PACKED by the time we left. There are myriad specials on a chalkboard, along with the in your hand tapas menu. We ordered charrasco meal version, shrimp tapas, calamari. He didn't have diet coke, do you know he went and brought back cases of soda INCLUDING a case of diet coke! Came to this place with 3 friends after it was recommended to us. We're greeted right away by 1 out of 2 employees here. We're able to do outside seating - the place is small but we had called ahead of time to make reservations and they were quick to accommodate us. We wanted to order the paella which comes with a warning that it takes 60-90 minutes to make, this was no problem . The time passed quickly , we had sangria and ordered goat cheese croquetas, Serrano ham, the empanadas (favorite was ham and cheese), the ham croquetas, and churrasco. The food was excellent! But don't let the name fool you because as tiny as it is, the food speaks volumes. I ordered the Pulpo a la plancha (grilled octopus) which was one of the best octopus I have ever had! It was seasoned and cooked so well. Then I had the grilled shrimp which had a little bit of a spicy kick but boy was it delicious! Finally for the entree, I had the churassco which comes with two sides and I chose the rice and fries (they are home fries but crunchy just like French fries). The meat was cooked medium and did not disappoint! Service was great as I met he owner and he told us a little bit of the history and we talked about the business and it felt very homey. They only have one person in the kitchen and that person takes time to perfect the dishes and really cares about the food. I've passed by Rincon Escondido many times but never got the chance to actually dine there... until last night! I finally stopped by with my best friend to enjoy the beautiful weather and great food. This is definitely a place where you do not want to come on a time table. Sit back, relax, enjoy your company as the food comes out for you indulge! The location is in a small shopping center off of Biscayne with plenty of street parking across the street. There's construction on both sides which can be a little challenging to find parking, but not biggie! Oh, and definitely use the cross walk. Way to many accidents happen on that street. So on to the GREAT stuff! The restaurant is small and so "homey." I love all the little details and even the decor in the bathroom. They have a few tables outside and you definitely feel like a home dinner indoors. So let's start with the service -- Damian is great! So sweet and gave us some great recommendations. We started with a beer and sangria. The sangria was perfect, not too sweet and lots of fresh fruit! For the tapas, we had the queso, croquetas de bacalao, papas bravas, gambas al ajillo, and the potatoes in a cream that they give complimentary. Everything was absolutely delicious. The gambas (shrimp) come with fresh bread and it was just perfect to soak in the sauce that they are cooked in. So worth it! For dessert, we tried the flan and it was perfect; the texture, the flavor, everything! Overall, my experience was excellent! I love supporting small businesses that are making their mark in the culinary world in Miami. This is a great place to catch up with friends, family, or even a date!
