Our experience at this restaurant was a complete disaster from start to finish. Our server, Minor, provided only minimal service, and before even bringing the check, he asked us to leave a five‑star review for the restaurant. It was clear he was asking every table the same thing, especially since most customers were tourists who would never return. Being pressured for a review before receiving the bill is unacceptable and unprofessional. The food was even worse. We ordered the seafood rice dish, which included mussels, prawns, lobster, and octopus, plus a mushroom pasta for three people. Every part of the dish was a failure: * Lobster was clearly frozen, old, overcooked for far too long, and rubbery to the point of being impossible to chew. * Mussels were almost all empty shells. * Prawns were not cleaned properly. * The entire dish had a strong, unpleasant fishy smell dumped over rice. When I complained, the waiter laughed, said "no way," and walked off. That alone tells you everything about the training and attitude here. To make things worse, the bill came with 25% service charge added automatically for two adults and one child -- after terrible food, rude service, and being pressured for a fake five‑star review. We left hungry and went somewhere else afterward just to get a decent meal. This was a garbage experience from top to bottom, and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

The paella seems like the specialty here, taking a prime spot on the menu and appearing on many tables. It's a bit slow for the paella to be made, so hopefully your date is a conversationalist! Paella del Mar: An impressive date night dish to share. The two halves of lobster are especially eye catching and they're easy to eat since it's cut down the middle with the claw partially cracked. Lots of clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari in the mix to ensure you get your seafood fix. The rice was very flavorful from the lobster broth and saffron. Only downside was that there was no socarrat on the bottom, which is disappointing since I love that crispy rice. read more

They're definitely very aggressive with recruiting guests, both in-person and virtually. I got calls and texts about cancellations and was even accused of not canceling--until I provided screenshots. It was more funny than annoying, but still odd. When we walked by, they were also clearly trying to make eye contact and draw people in (not physically, but you can tell). We were still curious, so we went in. Besides the pushy recruiting, the staff was friendly and, objectively, very attractive. The food itself was just okay. We tried the seafood tower, and it was underwhelming. You can usually tell it's going to be mid when the oysters aren't identified. The tower also included cooked and seasoned clams and mussels, but I personally prefer them fresh and unseasoned--the flavors felt like they were masking a lack of freshness. What I really wish we knew upfront was that the tower was charged per person. The menu only said MP, so getting a double charge on the bill was confusing. They explained that the portion served was for two people, which was... odd but fine. Seafood paella was okay, salty,but the pulpo was good. Overall, an okay experience. I'd probably rate it a 2, but giving it a 4 so this review doesn't mysteriously disappear. I have a theory they might be deleting Yelp reviews to maintain their 4-star average, because it doesn't make sense that they only have a couple hundred reviews here while their Google profile shows a 5-star average with 15,000 reviews. At the end, they show you your bill very quickly on a small machine, not allowing you to check your charges, and expect you to leave an extra tip for service. We had a fantastic experience at Españolita. We ordered the seafood paella, skirt steak with fries, and the fried calamari and shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The food looked so good that people walking by our table kept stopping to admire it. Our server Gonzalo was excellent--very attentive, friendly, and checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was perfect. We even mentioned to the hostess how much everyone was admiring our food, and as a kind thank-you she had Gonzalo bring us two tequila shots on the house, which was such a nice and unexpected touch. Two stars only because the mojito was actually very good. Unfortunately everything else was a huge disappointment. The first red flag should have been how pushy the hostess was trying to get us to come in. Lesson learned. If someone has to work that hard to convince people to eat there, the food probably speaks for itself. We were seated outside which was nice and the vibe seemed fun, so we were hopeful. We started with the spinach and pear salad which was fine but completely forgettable. Just spinach, chopped pears, walnuts, and blue cheese crumbles. Plain balsamic vinaigrette. Nothing special at all. I ordered the branzino and it was honestly the worst fish I've ever been served. It came out as a dry, completely unseasoned slab of fish that tasted like it had been cooked forever. Branzino is usually light, flaky, and delicate, but this was the opposite. I tried adding salt, pepper, and lemon to salvage it, but it was beyond saving. The veggies it came with were actually seasoned well but on the mushy side but at lease they were edible. My partner ordered the ribeye which was also disappointing. It tasted like a very low quality cut of meat and was completely unseasoned. They charge around $60 for it which is honestly shocking considering the quality. It was also supposed to come with mashed potatoes but instead came out with plain baked fingerling potatoes that were just as bland as the steak. This ended up being the worst meal of our trip and cost us $200!!! Aside from the mojito, everything ranged from average to bad. Best happy hour menu!! This restaurant located on Espanola Way. We both had the red sangria and it was large and delicious. We then ordered appetizers off the extensive happy hour menu. The shrimp scampi was cooked in a delicious garlic sauce. We also had grilled octopus. Then we finished off the meal with fried shrimp and calamari. Each appetizer was unique and delicious. The sauce from the shrimp scampi was amazing on the garlic bread. We will definitely return due to the amazing service, great scenery and delicious food. read more

Our server Martin is the best one. An ace in a deck of cards. He knew exactly how to please us and make us happy. We celebrated our friend's birthday on her actual birthdate. While my wife & I were walking around, the lovely hostess greeted us with warm welcome. She showed us to a table that was inside the restaurant. Since it is October the decorations were set up as Halloween themed. My wife & I was set on their famous paella Delmar. Might I say, it was excellent with so much flavor with the combination of rice, octopus, shrimp, clams, mussels, lobster, calamari & garnished with a beautiful orchid flower. After being sweet talked and cajoled over the threshold, I was seated, against my better instincts at a seat on the patio. I was under an umbrella in light rain, but the wind later picked up and it grew uncomfortable. Once seated, I had to flag down the sidewalk hustler, not once but twice to get the attention of my server - initially to bring a menu, then to place an order. You'd think they'd be eager to follow through on the deal. The Ensalada Españolita was too heavy on the Romain, with sparse feta and tomatoes. At $16, this was a rip off. There were 2 slices of Jamón on top. Real deal Mediterranean salads don't even have lettuce. If it weren't for the fact that I had some of the best grilled octopus at Upper Deck in Hallendale Beach, I wouldn't be as critical here. This octopus was cooked beautifully, only to be ruined by oversalting and the schmear of whatever cream sauce it was placed on top of. I like the octopus to speak for itself. They do have a full bar, but the cocktail menu is basic. I ordered a gin drink (that I subbed for mezcal) that said pineapple, blueberry, and soda in the description. I asked the server what the blueberry flavor was, was it a syrup? He said yes so I went with it as I wanted something refreshing. What I got was a mezcal, pineapple juice, and club soda with some bluberries floating in it. Um. Not the blueberry syrup as the server had said so there was a disconnect there as I definitely was hoping for something more elevated and this was very boring and disappointing. 2. I was excited when some bread and marinara dip came out except the small, crostini-sized bread wasn't toasted?! It had some olive oil, herbs, and garlic which looked great, but I was in this place close to closing after 10pm so not toasting this bread just seems like pure laziness on the part of the kitchen. 3. I did have the gazpacho soup which I did enjoy, but it could use a garnish since it is a $16 soup. I was going to order the churrasco skirt steak ($42) as my main dish, but after the lackluster drink and okay soup, I decided to leave. My friend and I came here after Art Basel and we had the best time. The vibes were amazing with the host and the server, Tony. I absolutely loved how they pass the cymbal type instrument to get loud and sing a song together. We were debating what sangria to order and Tony brought us a white and red sangria for us to try. We ended up ordering a pitcher of the red sangria that he suggested, which was delicious. To eat, we tried the gambas al ajillo, frittura mixta, pulpo grillado and albóndigas and everything was delicious.
