My latest obsessions with Ceviche (Peruvian Style) has taken me to many Peruvian restaurants in South Florida, and one of the best, in my humble opinion, is none other than Dr. Limon, and more specifically, the Kendall location. This restaurant is not that big and it is a bit out of the way, but that hasn't stopped fans to flock into it, but if you go early evening, you can quickly be seated. The greeting person is always nice and very welcoming. The ambiance is casual and that is perfect for me. There's always a lime sitting on the table when you arrive. I always though a small stethoscope on those limes would be so perfect. The first thing that is brought to you is a small shot of Leche de Tigre, which is a perfect start for a Ceviche junkie like me. They have the traditional Ceviche, which is amazing, and if you want a bit more, there are 3 other variations: Fiebre Alta, Anestésico, Fiebre Amarilla. They are all good and I can never make up my mind, so I go round Robin whenever I am there. But if you are hungry, for just a dollar more, you can get a 3-layer Ceviche with all the flavors, and more fish than in some lakes. Aside from Ceviche, you cannot go wrong with Causa Acevichada, Chaufa is always good, and if you are adventurous, anticuchos is amazing. I don't see it on the menu online, but i know i have had it there. The prices are very reasonable, except for Pisco Sours. Just a couple of them and you are paying almost twice as much for Pisco Sours as you do for the meal. Given the amount that is served, how little pisco is in it, and it is mostly foam from egg whites, I find this to be the only thing that is unreasonably priced. But no worries, they have a bar, plenty of beer, including a couple that is their own, and you'll have a great time at Dr. Limon. Can't wait to go back, probably tomorrow night

Went to Dr. Limon to celebrate my Mother-In-Laws birthday. This is my second time coming here and I will say, I was not disappointed. We order 4 different plates that we shared between the family. We ordered Jalea Del Mar, Ceviche de camorones, seco de res and tostones de cangrejo. The food was to die for. The family and I will definitely come back to eat some delicious Peruvian food. Highly recommended.

Ordered takeout for Valentine's Day first of there was no utensils in the bag so I guess they want us to eat with our hands and second of all the tostones were soft and drenched in oil and one of them was about half a tostone the ceviche I always get when I eat there is great has 3 layers but the to go one only has 2 sucks because when I eat in person the food is great

Lomo saltado portion was not the best and was a little salty. Our favorite were the tostones. Service was great and they played good music.

The best Peruvian cousin in the twin. Top notch quality dishes with very fair price. Great place to experience all kind of Persian dishes. Waiter and waitress were very welcoming.

This spot never disappoints. Been coming here for a long time and have yet to have a bad experience. Food and service are great. I don't know why the other Dr. Limón closed by Roasters & Toasters, but as long as we have this one, I'm good. Thanks for running such a great restaurant.

The best Kendall spot when you want sushi, Peruvian and Asian fusion. They have it all.

somewhat weird vibes bc the place was empty except for us but our waiter was pretty attentive. i fell in love with the ceviche, but it was after waiting forever for it to come out... despite the place being empty

Yum yum yum! Went with my dad on a Thursday evening. Not crowded at all. We got to pick our table to sit. Had the ceviche and roll. Delicious! Service was super nice and helpful. The place was clean and super welcoming :)

The service could have been more attentive, and the food was just okay--nothing special. However, I really enjoyed the drinks, and the menu prices were very reasonable. A decent spot if you're looking for affordable drinks in a casual setting.

Food was excellent, as always. The service was a bit slow, but the food quality and taste is always worth it. Love the coconut lemonade and lomo salteado. The ceviche is another dish that is always fresh and tasteful.

With visitors from out of town, we went for Peruvian because they can't find it in their state. Our server, Angela was great--cheerful fun attitude and good energy. We were welcomed with complimentary Leche de Tigre (tigers milk) and crispy corn with house sauce. Being first timers here, she explained everything well. We ordered: Chaufa with Chicken: good, classic. Playa Chucuito: I'm not a fish person but wow. I'm in love with Mahi Mahi now. The quinoa in mushroom pepper sauce was spectacular. So rich and buttery without being overwhelming. My guest said, "it's like comfort food that o never tasted. I would gladly give up Mac and Cheese for this!" Emergencies 911: this salmon dish was an absolute dream. One person agreed: "it's a dream come true that I didn't even know I could dream of." The other said, "I see why it's called emergency: it's so delish it's like you'll die and go straight to heaven." It was a taste of heaven for sure. Sobredosis de chocolate with Lucuma ice cream: Peruvians are known for good chocolate cake and this one was good and rich, but let's talk about that ice cream...Lucuma tastes like something familiar and cozy. "I feel like it's something from my childhood excecpt I've never had Lucuma or even know what it looks like." It's honestly good on its own without the chocolate getting on the way. I am definitely coming back for the Lucuma milkshake! Good dessert for sharing as its very sweet and can leave you overwhelmed. I'll definitely be coming back because the menu items all seem beautiful and delicious!!

Over hyped and not authentic. I got the tallarine verde and the pasta was undercooked. Lacked flavor and was no worth the price.

It was tart with a slight heat from the chili, with cilantro, thinly sliced red onion, sweet potato, and giant corn - nicely salty. The fish was fresh, and was nicely marinated. The Causa Ganadora was very good - cold mashed potato with Peruvian red pepper, oil, and lime, serviced with panko shrimp with a maracuya sauce. The panko shirmp was lightly crisp. The Lomo Saltado was good, too. The meat was tender, the fries were good, onions, and tomatoes with a side of rice. The Parihuela Acevichada was very tasty, served hot, with corvina, shrimp, squid, and musssels. To drink, I tried the Chicha Morada, with purple corn, pineapple, clove, and cinnamon was good. My server was friendly. It's a small place, with a small bar.

They have another name on the menu, but you'll find it under appetizers. Aji de gallina was the best i have ever had. Ripped up chicken tossed in huancaina sauce and served with white rice and potatoes. The ceviche trio was amazing too. I thought classic would be my favorite. The I tried the rocoto and that was my favorite. Then I tried the aji Amarillo and that was my fav! All three are some of the best I've ever had.
