My friend would say five stars, I give three based on the carnitas burrito I got. It was good, but lots of rice, I like more beans. Also the pork tasted old, like it had been reheated for a few days and the fat was getting stale. Maybe I should have ordered tacos! Heh! I was happy to have food as we were on the road, however. Took a while to get food, not super duper fast, but there was a guy who had ordered 20 tacos ahead of us and then another person or two with burrito orders. My friend got one of each kind of taco and loved his tacos. They have a place to sit, but we had to retreat to the car as the wind was blowing cold air off the snow from the mountains ;-) Maybe on another day their carnitas are better or I just didn't like their version. To start off I just want to say that Juan is a great guy and always makes you feel welcome here. This is by far the best taco truck in Red Bluff. I usually order a burrito for $5. You get to choose your meat, I recommend the Al Pastor, and it comes with all the fixings. The burrito isn't the biggest I've had but it's not small by any means. It always tastes great and I've never been disappointed here. The chicken tacos are good too. If you live in the area and have never been here, or if you're just passing through and looking for a quick meal, I highly recommend the El Gallo Giro Taco Truck. You have to try it! Driving back to Los Angeles from Seattle, we stopped in Red Bluff for a quick bite to eat and so glad we found this taco truck. Traveling with kids can be hard especially when trying to find "tasty food" my kids devoured the carne asada tacos and I had a carne asada burrito. It's probably the best burritos I've had from a taco truck. Everything inside was fresh and so delicious. My babygirl ate the beans, carne, and rice from inside. Passing through Red Bluff (and spending the night) on my way to Lassen Volcanic Nat'l Park, I was really just looking for something cheap, authentic, and local. This food truck blew the hinges off my expectations (dollar tacos!! In this economy?!) and the gents working the truck were friendly as well - even with my unusual request for no onions with my street tacos. The torta were nothing to write home about, but the tacos were right on the money. My only disappointment was when I tried to stop by the next morning (I figured a few extra tacos for the drive home wouldn't hurt) they were closed as they are every Sunday. But if you're not resting on the Lord's Day, you would do well to stop by and pick up a taco or a handful of 'em! read more

Juan Paulo is a humble man making simple, good food at reasonable prices. LMFAO...it's not as good as the meth and marijuana infused delights Chewy and his sister used to make me at La Sirenita (The Little Mermaid) but it's a step up from the truck parked at the Rio Shop & Rob. Juan Paulo's (I should start calling him El Papa) tacos are simple, spicy and the cuts of meat so far have been way tasty free of sinew and gristle. I also like the fact he always includes lime, a fat jalapeno, and some awesomely good sauteed onions. There's always hard working men eating under the tarp......that's always a dam good sign something is good. Give it a try, for the prices you won't be disappointed. And I'll bet you go back.
