This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Red Bluff (and there is a lot to pick from). The food is always deliciously and freshly prepared, and the staff is always polite and very attentive. The bathrooms are clean, which says a lot about the place in general. The bar service is great. The molcajete is one of my favorite items on the menu, if you get this do the green sauce it is awesome. We recently found one of our new favorite things... The Broaster Chicken Family Dinner Meal #2 (which they double the chicken on Wednesdays). Their delicious chicken is pressure-cooked in no trans-fat oils. This chicken is not deep-fried. 8 pieces of Chicken, 16 oz. Beans, 16 oz. Rice, 8 oz. Salsa, bag of chips, and 8 Tortillas. It is so good. read more

Wow, it's been like 6 years since I reviewed Los Mariachis! That was even before I lived in Red Bluff! I don't normally come here, but it does make a good place to meet up with out of town guests cause it's so easy to find. I just tell people to get off on the 36 exit and go west to the corner of Main street and there you are! Easy to find, but you'll need to find street parking, but here in Red Bluff that's no prob, not like big city places! I met some friends that never been to Red Bluff before, so this was easy. It was around lunch, so I kept it simple and ordered the lunch special for a little under $10 dollars of chili Verde served with rice and beans. The prices go up from there, especially for dinner. Service is friendly and efficient. Our food arrived in a timely manner and we all thought the food here was fine. Maybe not the most hardcore authentic Mexican, but good for the American tastes. My chili Verde was good and the meat tender. Rice and beans were pretty standard. Like I said, mostly I come here as an easy meeting place for out of town guests. I'll come back here again if I need to meet up with anyone that's never been to Red Bluff before. read more

Each time I visit Red Bluff, besides taking pleasure in the small-town vibes, I like to visit the local restaurants and see what they have to offer. Los Mariachis is located in the heart of the downtown area and it's worth a visit. The inside of the restaurant is nice and bright: beautifully painted walls and ample outside lighting from the large transparent windows at the entrance. They also play catchy Latin music, which adds to the cheerfulness of the environment. Music and bright colors are a staple in Mexican restaurants, but each one is uniquely different. They also offer chips and salsa, and even refried beans, to snack on while you decide what to get. The food they offer is excellent for the prices. They offer large portions of tasty Mexican dishes, and these will satisfy your hunger without leaving your wallet empty. I often order one of their burritos, which are loaded and aren't dry; they're often covered in a delicious sauce. And sometimes I'll have their tacos. The Tacos al Carbón were the tacos I tried last time I was here. I hadn't ever tried them before and didn't regret my order. Crispy taco shells with nicely seasoned chicken; it was a smokey taste. The waiters and waitresses are attentive to their customers. You won't have to wait long if you need a refill or if you want more chips and salsa. If you're hungry and want to go somewhere with fast service that'll guarantee you a quick in and out dining experience, come here! And if you want to stay longer, that shouldn't be a problem either. read more

I dropped 2 stars bc we saw a sign in the side dining area that said "no sharing"...!? We didn't share, & bought 3 entrees that, with tip, ended up costing us $78 ($4 for each soda!), but the sign is ridiculous, & we think somewhat offensive. I often share because I have a small appetite, and the portions are generous. It's just a tacky sign and message, though maybe people are sharing and pigging out on chips & salsa? Los Mariachis is the only restaurant we stop by to eat whenever we pass by Red Bluff area. While we don't often take long drives from Southern Bay Area to Red Bluff or Redding, if/when we do, my husband & I make sure we dine at Los Mariachis. It's one of the best Mexican restaurants we have been, anywhere. The foods never disappoint, and the service is superb. All the staff are nice and we especially appreciate Alejandra. She is super nice, always with great smiles and so attentive. We just don't forget people like her. Not sure when is the next opportunity but when it comes, we will be sure to visit this place & its great staff again. read more

Stopped here on our way home from Lassen. I didn't have high expectations but this was one the higher rated spots in the area. The tacos were $4.29 each so they were not cheap. Al pastor - the Al pastor was tender but lacked flavor. Carne Asada - super chewy. There were a few pieces I couldn't eat. This also lacked flavor. Traveling back from Lassen Volcanic National Park, we stopped at Los Mariachis for take out and it did not disappoint! The portions were generous and each order packed securely. I could not resist their seafood chimichanga. It was served with a big portion of flavorful Spanish rice and refried beans. The chimichanga was filled with fish, shrimp, scallops with sautéed aromatic vegetables. No fillers. The vegetarian enchiladas and quesadillas were also generously prepared with lots of flavor. For kids, they do have chicken tenders and cheeseburgers. The order of chips filled an entire brown paper bag. We also ordered a side of guacamole. Although tasty, we were a bit disappointed in how little we got for $6. It came in a tiny plastic condiment container. The food tasted good. That's why they didn't get a 1 star review. They served me fermented orange juice. We got there at 2:00pm and weren't served until 2:50pm. At 3:00pm my husband had to go to work. People that got there after us were served before us. I definitely didn't get the family restaurant vibe. It's more of a bar fast food restaurant only the food isn't actually fast. I'm fine with food being freshly cooked and taking longer. It's absolutely not ok to be served dead last and have gotten there first. It wasn't even a busy time of day. Not that many customers. Also, the AC didn't seem to be working. It was humid. I'm very experience based when going out to eat. This place wasn't memorable or one I will repeat. read more

Randomly stopped here from Lassen National Park and had such a wonderful experience. Juan was a very attentive waiter, made me a special delicious margarita that wasn't on a menu. First time stopping by Los Mariachis and I should have stopped sooner! Service is setup friendly and the food has some FLAVORRRRR! I ordered a Molcajete (Most are mild spice) I asked for a Spicy one and also a Fish taco. I ate the fish taco first and the chipotle sauce was mixed very well...chipotle was prominent but not overwhelming...Perfect actually. The Molcajete was so flavorful and loaded with meats. We were victims of the Southwest debacle, and had to drive straight from San Diego to Portland, OR area in one day. We didn't even want to stop for a meal so we opted to takeout from Los Mariachis. Well-reviewed on Yelp plus easy access from and back to the freeway. Person who greeted us and took our order was very friendly. We had time to stretch our legs and use the bathroom while awaiting our order. My grande chicken burrito was so huge, I told my husband, "I need another pair of arms to hold this thing up!" I took a couple of bites, got on the road and then had to stop about 15 minutes later to eat some more. I took at least half home and ate it for two meals there. Very fresh tasting and filling with good rice and excellent refried beans. Hubby got a Dos Compadres with two different sauces in one GIGANTOR burrito. He also got another meal out of his leftovers. The containers for these mondo meals had to weigh at least 3 pounds. I'm really not kidding here! Their drinks are Big-Gulp-sized so make sure you have a big enough cup holder to hold them! Great food and margaritas! I returned for the Camarones Diablo, it was delicious as I remembered, served with tortillas, rice and beans. The alternative to refried beans was a Cup of juicy dark beans, I was hoping for white beans or black beans. Still, a great meal and great leftover. I got the lunch special with two enchiladas, one Colorado chili and the other chili verde both flavors were outstanding but I like more of a spicy enchilada so the Colorado chili took the cake for me. The hubby got the quesadilla with carne asada and he was satisfied with the quality and taste. What truly makes this place outstanding is the service. Everyone is kind, welcoming, and attentive. Exceptional experience. The food here was, across the board, outstanding. It was fresh, flavorful, and huge portions. Huge like my plate was almost the size of my wife's torso! The servers were polite and service was quick. Parking is easy either on Main Street or around the corner. The best part of our experience though, someone in our party has a vulnerable family member and is cautious about sitting in crowded areas, the manager sat us away from the crowds and made sure all guests were comfortable. That's the kind of service there will never be enough stars to reward. It was beyond professional, it was human kindness. Glad that still exists. A+ read more

It will be so amazing if Red Bluff could truly open a authentic fresh and delicious and healthy Mexican restaurant, but I doubt that will ever happen. I grew up in Red Bluff when they had Francisco's. That was authentic and delicious those days are gone. read more

We were traveling to Oregon and stopped in Red Bluff for the night. The girl at the Wyndham Hotel recommended Los Mariachis for dinner and SO happy she did!! If you have never had your food brought to you in a sizzling stone bowl, like a large mortar and pestle, you have been missing out!
