You can't miss this taqueria when driving down Pacheco Boulevard in little ol' LB. Open til midnight, one of the few LB restaurants open past 10pm, this food is the perfect late night craving. First, the food is delicious. The tacos are the best, here. Good serving size for the price you pay. You can get 3 tacos, with many options for your choosing of meats, for under $6. The sauce is perfectly spiced, at least for me. And you can always add more to the spice level with the sauces they have in the restaurant. The burritos are really good, too. Big size, little price. The quesadillas are bomb-a-licious and just what you expect when ordering a traditional quesadilla. The style of the restaurant is really authentic, with Spanish-styled rustic-colored tiles as the floor and beige walls. They also have patio seating, which is cool if you want to stay away from the crowds or if you have kids and want to keep the dining area quiet. Great place to come to in LB when its close to midnight and you don't want to go to Denny's or Jack-in-the-Box. read more

But today we went to the "El Grullense Taco truck " same owner and business as the restaurant. The taco truck was in Santa Nella. I ordered 3 Tacos, and my husband a burrito. I would say 1-2 minutes after ordering, our food was ready... I know people like speedy service but I prefer quality. The meat and tortolla on my tacos were cold! Not room temperature! But refrigerated meat cold! The tortillas were semi warmed up but stiff! You could tell they were pre heater and just thrown on their warmer for a couple seconds. I asked for salt at least to five my cold tacos some flavor! THEY HAD NO SALT!! My husbands burrito meat was also cold! I was hungry so ate anyways, and I paid for them, I never return food but Im never coming here again! The only thing good was the bottled sodas, they were in a cooler with melted ice, at room temperature!! Everytime I go to this spot now, you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes they get your whole order wrong, then give you attitude when you ask them to correct your order. Sometimes they make excuses to not make you a simple dish of juevos rancheros with some over cooked eggs, cold rice, beans and tortillas. I just like consistency. And I'd expect that kind of inconsistency from a fast food restaurant. This isn't a fast food restaurant. I've been here MANY times, I was a kid when they first opened. I've only had their sopes and others I've been here with have had different meals, but mainly their burritos. The chicken is always full of flavor and extremely tender. Even reheated the next day, it's still tender and good. The only complaint I have is the paper plates. They always have foil wrapped song my plate of sopas and it still leaks out. It's clean and they are quick on giving you your food. Which is great especially when your just making a quick stop for food while driving by town . I had a steak quesadilla which looked super good, but a few bites into it and I was done. Meat was good toppings were all fresh. Very filling. My husband had there birria. The meat he said tasted old as in it was not cooked from that day or previous day, but rather a few days old. Previous time it was good but to salty. And this time he had hoped b it would be great. This place is ridiculous. For one the place had no one in other than a family already eating. My boyfriend and I both come in order two slopes and 6 tacos. Our order number was 120. As him and i both sat and patiently waited. They called up order 121, than 122 right after. My boyfriend went up to the cashier asked them about our food.They gave him a dirty look and the cashier had to ask the cooks (which were outside messing around) what had happened. Well they never made it. Once they did. My boyfriend walked up to get it, both the make cooks giving him a dirty look and talking in Spanish about him. I know it was because I am Hispanic and speak fluent Spanish. This will be the last time we come. On top of all. Place is dirty. I Had lunch with my mother and her friend here on Monday. I ordered their Chille Relleno plate. & I thought it was weird that the lady had to check first if she had any in the back. That was odd for me, and then i guess she saw that she did, so she took our order. We sat down waited and when our food arrived I swear i was stunned, because I have NEVER seen a small ugly Chille relleno before. That was the first for me. I mean it looked old and weird, & it had no flavor so I was very disappointed and didn't eat it. My friends and I were driving home from Yosemite and came across this little place. My sister was suddenly craving Mexican food and we ended up here. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the food here. For me personally, the super nachos were a bit too drenched with nacho cheese salsa. Pretty much 99% of my chips were drenched and I couldn't even finish it. The tacos were ok, but the meat tasted a bit weird (not sure how to describe it, just weird). Service is a bit slow. Ask for a lot of water cups in the beginning as their water station is behind the cashier and they won't be able to get you water for a while if there is a line. At least the food wasn't that expensive and parking is easy to find. Overall, cheap fast decent Mexican food here with below average service. read more

If I could I would give this place NO STARS. I ordered a michelada and red inchiladas. The michelada didn't taste nowhere near what a michelada should tast like. The inchiladas plate I ordered was horrible they had a cardboard tast to them. The chicken was bland the sauce was bland also, the only good thing on my plate was the shredded lettuce. My boyfriend had the tostada mixtas that was pretty sad as well. Over all very disappointing. This is my experience take my word for it eat elsewhere. So a good friend of mine told me about a taco place in Los Banos because I told him I go through there quite often picking up my daughter from college and taking her back. So I made a point not to eat breakfast this morning so we can eat there on our way back to taking her to school. I understand it's a Mexican restaurant but I expect for you to understand enough English to get my order right. If we're in Mexico you would expect me to speak enough Spanish so you know what I wanted so I expect no different here. Ordered the obvious tacos such as chicken and asada and Al Pastor plus I ordered a shrimp taco because I heard it was spicy. It took just a couple extra minutes longer than the other tacos we ordered but no problem. I go up to get it and it's a larger taco and of course they didn't remove the items I asked them to but no big deal. I pulled off the tomatoes I could see and then took a bite and what do you know it's deep fried fish. Not shrimp but fish. Needless to say the food was just average at best but I will not come back again for the simple fact that they couldn't speak enough English to even get my order right.
