    Nachos

Horrific! I ordered via DoorDash and was supposed to be done in 30 minutes...the order didn't come until almost an hour later! When I got my food, the hard tacos were so soggy that I had to eat them with a fork. The nachos had some sort of mole sauce that was super sweet and made all the nachos very soggy and unappetizing. This is the second time that my order was not very edible. Not going to be coming back for a third time.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant wasn't too busy. The food was excellent and at a decent price! I got the Birria tacos, they were some of the best tacos I've had. The service was good also. No complaints from my party and we will be certainly going back.

Had some difficulty ordering on the phone because no menus online so I ordered my go to "Chimichanga", wife got the burrito. This place is on point. Carnitas and steak were flavorful and seasoned well. Good Mexican style cheese. Two awesome sauces to top your food off. Roasted pepper and a green sauce. Both fresh and delicious. Prices are reasonable, portions pretty big. I sat in my car and they brought the food out too me. It was around sunset so went down to the lake near by. Awesome experience. Definitely be back to try some tacos.

What a find. It's pretty plain inside but the food is really good. Good sized menu also. They serve on nice dishes and there seems to be pride and care in their presentations. We really enjoyed the food and will definitely return with friends. They had 2 tables outside and a few inside. The flavors were fantastic. The five stars are for the food. So good. The building itself is ok.

    Birria tacos !

Stopped in on a whim as suggested by a colleague and SO glad I did. I was served a generous basket of warm chips with delicious salsa verde right from the git go and the kitchen kept the homemade goodness coming with subtlety rich flavors that tempt the palate. Mmm real food yum ! Gotta agree with the previous reviewer on the Birra tacos. Service was friendly efficient and laid back. Comfortable socially distant dining area and they do take out too. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Mangonada's. Amazing drinks and food! Best new spot in Poughkeepsie. Best Mexican restaurant in Hudson Valley by far. I'll be back !!

The food tasted nasty and the lady was rude and you can't sit with friends together and the food came out cold and I don't recommend.

Great tacos, poor drink quality. I used to come here all the time until they started skimping on the drinks.

Food and service were incredible. Wish we lived nearby do we could go all the time. Highly recommendread more

Since they are already finalists, according to James Beard, I'll spend this review explaining more…read morewhy I only gave it three stars. The food in general was well prepared, delicious and certainly had a sophisticated knowledge of spicing in flavoring. But it's more the minor details that stops an experience from being a really wonderful one. So here are some details, you may think I'm crazy or you may relate. The first was coffee: they didn't have decaf and they don't have half-and-half. I'm not going to speculate why, but for quite a few of us decaf is a true pleasure and it'd be nice to have that available. To the waitresses credit she offered to bring me milk and cream, so I could make my own half-and-half? That was a first! The second was the hot chocolate: the actual hot chocolate was quite delicious, Mexican style with some cinnamon. But it was topped with a mountain of whipped cream and some small crunchy pieces. I think it's pretty standard nowadays that when you're going to top a drink like that the staff tends to ask whether you like whipped cream or not. I really dislike whipped cream so had to scoop all that stuff off. The next one was just simply funny: when you're ordering a side order of eggs, one option they list on the menu is a sunny side up egg, one of the other options is to have a "fried egg". I asked the waitress what exactly a fried egg was, she didn't know. She asked the chef, and apparently they didn't know either. So I ordered it over easy, hoping that was doable, but I just got a sunny side up egg instead. And lastly, was the ambience: the space is quite nice and comfortable, but if you're sitting in the outer ring near the windows and it's a very cold winter day (which it was when we ate) expect to be cold in there. They kindly offered to hang our coats, but I had to keep mine on the whole time. Maybe if the insulation and heating system is unable to keep up, you bring in a couple space heaters for the day?

The place is huge, with a couple of separate areas (the bar, the sunken dining room, the regular dining room). If you're as lucky as we are, you'll be put in the Aztec Room, a private-ish spot with a lazy susan (Susanna here, I believe). There's also a fun waterfall by the entrance, and you get to walk over some water on the way in. We sat down quickly, and were treated very well by a number of servers. We quickly had excellent chips and salsa, and guacamole following shortly behind. From there, we ordered a large variety of Mexican and not-so-Mexican dishes, and most were very solid. My daughter wanted some steak, so I rolled with the Carne Asada which was quite flavorful, but a surprisingly small portion for $40. My wife's LPA salad was exactly what we were expecting (solid), as were the traditional Mexican chicken fingers my other daughter wanted. The best thing I tried was actually some chicken mole enchilada situation that one of my friends got, and another person was quite pleased with his enchiladas with Colorado sauce. All in all, a good spot for a large group if you're in the mood for Mexican.
