Carne Asada
Robert H.

Superb Mexican food in Great Barrington. We dined out on the patio which was delightful with great views and comfortable tables. I tried a mezcal cocktail that was very good with chile on the rim. My carne asada came with a large skirt steak, well seasoned, a roasted jalapeño, escabeche and guacamole. A big portion, too. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was packed on a Friday night.

I came here for some Mexican food and was not disappointed. I got the chimichanga and flan and both were amazing. The portion size was large and we took home leftovers. The place was spotless and the service was fast.

I've been here multiple times in the last three months while working and exploring the area, and the food and service have been excellent. Mexican is one of my favorite so I would consider myself an expert at this point. The empanadas and the enchiladas are a must-try. No one I've been with has ever been disappointed by any of the tacos or burritos either. They have a pineapple margarita that pairs well with all the pork dishes, and a lot of other fun cocktails.

The complimentary order of chips and salsa were very good. I had the shrimp tacos, my uncle had a hamburger with fries and my aunt had a chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla was good, I tasted it. The shrimp tacos (2) were ok. Service was ok, not great. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Dinner for 2 on New Year's Eve was perfect! The service was enthusiastic and the ambiance had the perfect mix of holidays with a Mexican twist. We arrived early since we had another event after and by the time we left, this cozy place was packed! My fajita was perfect and got the attention of everyone else in the restaurant when it was served. I opted for a Pineapple Mexican soda and hubby had Pacifo Mexican beer with Shrimp Rancheros. Our portions were generous and we appreciated the complimentary chips and salsa for appetizer! We are definitely going to return!

The food was amazing with great portions. The service was great, but unfortunately they were understaffed so it took a while to get the bill. This place is real authentic Mexican food, and the steak is amazing.

Great place to visit and meet up w a friend! Service was good; prices fair for good sized portions (I was actually surprised, since GB restaurants can be expensive). I had a burrito and it was fantastic! Also, great chips and salsa! Definitely going back!!

Great service, food and music! Drinks were strong and good. We got the Chilaquiles and quessabirria

Surprisingly good for MA did not expect good Mexican in New England. Not as good as southern CA or southern Texas but would go again.

Service is fast (most likely hoping for fast turnover). Chips and salsa delivered upon arrival. Ordered a chicken fajita / taco salad. An abundance of peppers but could have used more lettuce to satisfy the salad portion. SO ordered a steak dish which was more than enough for 2 meals. So maybe, it's all in what you order. Is it someplace I'd go back? Sure, it'll get added to our list of places to return to.

With that known, I ordered the Tex Mex nachos for an appetizer and they were actually very good. To explain, the chips tasted fresh and homemade. Likewise, the cheese sauce was hot and had nice flavor. I really enjoyed the nachos and I hoped my entree would be just as good, but sadly that didn't happen. Knowing that, I ordered the shrimp and steak fajitas for my dinner and I was disappointed. To breakdown, the steak was terrible. It was cut extremely thin and was as tough as a tire. Similarly, the tortillas tasted store bought and had a weird taste to them. On the flip side, the shrimp, peppers, and onions were all enjoyable. They tasted fresh and were actually cooked properly. That said, the fajitas weren't terrible, but I wouldn't get them again. Conclusively, Don Tequila is a mediocre Mexican restaurant that is nothing to write home about.

It somehow manages to feel upscale while still being approachable and relaxed. Everything works together beautifully. The decor, the atmosphere, the energy. The design screams that it feels Bonita. I stopped by during happy hour and ordered the guacamole, the nachos, and a soft drink. Now look, I know. I KNOW! Who goes to happy hour at a brand-new restaurant and doesn't order one of the cocktails when they looked exceptionally good? Me, apparently. I'm on a fitness journey, so I stuck with a soft drink - and a ridiculous amount of chips that came with the guac and nachos. #DontJudgeMe The food was great, and the happy hour menu was definitely worth it. I walked over from a nearby hotel, but I did notice they have plenty of parking available. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the person who helped me at the bar, but they were fantastic. Apparently everything was so good that I completely forgot to take pictures, which honestly might be the highest compliment I can give. 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend.

Tried a few of the specialties for the holiday but the stars for us were the margaritas. Just a perfectly mixed cocktail that we could not rave more about. More of an upscale Mexican restaurant with some spins on traditional favorites. We will definitely be coming back for a regular date night or even their extensive brunch selections!

My expectations weren't too high because I didn't know if Albany had a thriving Mexican community. Viva Cinco de Mayo blew me away! We sat in a comfortable outdoor dining section. Our waitress was extremely helpful! The menu was extensive and felt authentic to me. My daughter ordered chips and queso, clearly house made chips were outstanding! Her chicken and cheese quesadilla was also delicious. My wife and I shared some of the best tamales we've ever had! So fresh and vibrant, chicken with green salsa. My wife enjoyed three tacos and the sangria. I absolutely loved their pozole with mole sauce! The hominy was perfectly cooked. Their fresh Tamarindo juice was also delicious! Truly an awesome lunch!
