We have breakfast here every weekend. Whether it's Saturday or Sunday, the ladies there know we'll be showing up at some point. It's become a ritual, a weekend must have. We are such regulars, they just need to put our picture on the wall. You know you can't go wrong when the restaurant has all three things: sugar dispenser, salsa verde made fresh, and bomb chips and salsa. These are key items that determine if the food you are about to have is fire. And Charro's can't miss. We order: Mini Tacos De Fajita Y Pastor (split 3 & 2); trying the Pastor is a must. They grill it to perfection, so many flavors mmm. Crispy Tacos De Carne Molida with Charro Beans and an order of Avocado. Every single time, it's so good. They recently upgraded their seating arrangements, now including booths for families which is cozy. They have fresh made Limonada and Horchata. Sometimes you may be serenaded during your meal. If you want chips and salsa be sure to go closer to 11AM, they don't serve them in the early AM. All the servers are amazing, they work very hard. I appreciate consistent service. We love coming to this place for breakfast. WAY less packed than Denny's, IHOP, Kelley's and Ken's. The food is cooked fresh, the waitresses are all super friendly and the place is family friendly. My husband swears by the chorizo and egg tacos and I always make my own breakfast and get their delicious crispy fajita beef, two scrambled eggs, a side of refried beans and sliced avocado. I had the Queso flameado al carbon beef the first time and the beef was soooooooooo tender and had such a rich deliciously grilled/smokey flavor. The cheese was a bit over the top to be truthful, but it was all really delicious in a tortilla. The fajita taco I tried next time was so good too. Not the typical fajita you imagine, but smaller pieces of really tender beef jam packed with flavor. The barbacoa gorditas were also good, but I preferred the tacos. It was also really tender, but a little too much bread for me. Still really delicious. The meals also come with free sauce and chips and the child just taste better for some reason and there is salsa or this other savory sauce which is so good. Today was the first time I have ever been there. The food was too spicy so I asked for them to replace my meal with another meal. I NEVER ONCE SAID I WOULDNT PAY FOR IT! The only thing was that when I was about to pay the cashier asked me how was everything which it was great with the exception of the flour tortillas because they were reheated and that made them so hard. Found among the now abandoned properties lined along Red Bluff, between Deer Park and Pasadena, is this little known gem. Now, my review is solely based on their breakfast (which is why I only gave it 4 stars), but I am almost certain their dinner is just as good. The coffee is always warm and flavorful. The service is always tentative and friendly, but what makes this place is their delcious food! Their signature dish is the Parrilla de Desayuno. Basically it's 2 pork chops on a bed of onions, topped with 2 fried eggs and ranchero sauce, all served on a hot skillet. Refried beans, potatoes, and tortillas are served on the side. This is their very best dish, and I get it every time. While I normally like flour tortillas, this place has the best homemade corn tortillas I've ever eaten! They're not the flimsy ones bought in a bag at the store. Infact they're nice and thick and large in width. Their barbacoa tacos are the best around! They are packed with meat, cilantro and onions with a slice of lime! The meat isn't too greasy, yet very tender and flavorful. Their breakfast burritos are equally amazing. I usually get the tocino con huevo and it's always good and warm. Stuffed with eggs, meat, beans, and cheese, this burrito will leave you full!
