    The hostess station clucking circle?
    Carlos S.

I would give them ZERO STARS if I could. My previous visit resulted in me driving back to return the order they screwed up and receive a full refund. That was sometime in 2024. I was driving by and decided to give them another chance at a take out order. The hostess gave me a menu and told to have a sit at the bar where someone would come by to take my order. When I sat at the bar, one of the emloyees looked at me, turned around and walked away. I guess this should have been a clue? About 3-minutes later, long after I had decided on what I wanted, I looked around to see 3 of the wait staff in a gossip circle at the hostess station (see pic) - less than 10-feet away. I turned to face them hoping that one of them would look my way and Take my order. A couple of minutes of this and I decided to leave without ordering. The hostess finally looks right at me as I walked by and asked, "Are you ready to order?" So much for someone coming over to get my order, huh? I responded with, "I was, but nobody wanted to take my order." and walked right out. As I drove away I observed the guy who had walked away from me having a conversation with a lady that looks to be the MANAGER on the outside patio. I ended up going to Taco Bell.

    Taquitos Mexicanos

Tonight we got the guacamole to share and we are more chunky guacamole people and this was silky smooth. For the meal, my wife went with the taquitos Mexicanos and unfortunately most of the chicken here, it tasted boiled, with seasoning being an afterthought, even the rice was bland. I ordered the grilled taco salad and it turned out pretty good. Before we moved to Virginia, in 2013, I lived in Colorado Springs for 7 years and Albuquerque for 4, where I met my wife, was born and raised there. We have still not gotten used to the bland taste here and the nasty water-cheese sauce they put on everything in Virginia. With a couple of exceptions, every visit to a Mexican restaurant, just leaves me full...of sadness and longing for the southwest.

    Chicken Enchiladas Verde with rice

We arrived on a Tuesday around 3:00. It wasn't crowded. In fact, it was just us and one other table. It's very dark inside, and it was VERY hot - like sweaty hot. Granted, it was also hot outside but the AC should be able to keep up. We were greeted promptly and taken to a table. We were there during happy hour but that was not mentioned to us by the person that sat us or our waitress. Our waitress was a young woman with negligible English skills. Service was ok but she did mess up our order as she misunderstood what we asked for. To her credit, she offered to fix it. She immediately brought chips and salsa. The chips were warm. The salsa was unremarkable and had a subtle heat. We ordered 2 medium house margaritas. The homemade margarita mix tasted good but that's about all you tasted - very little tequila. We each ordered Enchiladas Verdes. The beans were good with nice chunks. The yellow rice had no flavor at all. The chicken in the enchiladas was not seasoned it was just plain shredded chicken breast. The verde sauce had a bit too much lime in it for our tastes, otherwise it was fine. We were kind of disappointed and hoped for a better experience.

Horrible!! DO NOT EAT HERE!! Our food was cold!! We ordered a cheese quesadilla and chicken burrito and chips with salsa. All of the food was horrendous. The cheese tasted like it was rotten and the burrito was soo dry we couldn't finish it. We stopped because my son was hungry and now we have to go find somewhere else for him to eat. I took only 2 bites out of the quesadilla and I already feel sick. Will never ever come here again and do not recommend anyone coming here.

Service was extremely slow. I arrived with a party of 4 and when ordering alcoholic drinks we were not offered water. Food was ordered, which didn't take too long but I asked for onions and bell peppers on my food and was given none. (I asked for the food to be removed from the check and it was) The waitress did not ask if we wanted refills and after she asked if we wanted the check it took 15 minutes to finally get it. Black specks in drinks, chips in plates. Decent for a restaurant in a rural area but not my favorite.

Two locations. Avoid the one near Walmart in Ruckersville. The other near Food Lion on 29 much better although portions are getting smaller

Serving American classics with high quality and great hospitality…read more Sandwiched between two floors of antique malls, Jack's was the perfect stop in the day to get some no-frills nourishment. Their breakfast is incredibly generous and made with ingredients that were fresh, clean, and meticulous in detail. The design of their menu is just so promising with unique twists that are not unheard of, but just an elevated touch when it comes to American diner food as a whole. Things like truffle infused hollandaise, fried green tomato BLT, pairing balsamic with goat cheese, a blackened pork, even mushrooms on the breakfast menu all hint that people developing their menu are confident in their skills in offering something more when it comes to breakfast plates and sandwiches. Their homemade aiolis (highly recommend their pesto aioli) and hot sauce tie any dish together-- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Things made to this quality are not to be unremarked. Came in with friends so we can try everything on their menu, and we were pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Presentation, ingredients, preparation all elements that made our meals great and were evident across all dishes ranging from protein to carb. Details like toasted bread with already spread with butter, perfectly poached eggs, and brioche as the bun of choice were things we peeped. We would have left satisfied if these details weren't accounted for, but we were so impressed this became a revisit during our short vacation. Their space is greatly spacious, with an open drinks station so its just not pretentious. There is even a section in the front to pick up goods made by local artisans. This is a great place to dine in, no notes.

After eating a wonderful lunch I was ready to give five plus stars…read more We had the truffle Benedict and the open faced roast beef . The ingredients were fresh and the flavors delicious. The atmosphere in the dining room was nice and airy. As we were traveling a good distance I decided to get the renowned cinnamon roll to go . I got a take out coffee and was told there would be a brief wait. After several minutes-a roll came out on a plate. Someone asked what I was there for. I said I'm for a cinnamon roll to go. The busy manager said they take 10 minutes After 20 minutes my husband came in to find me -the roll appeared soon after. I'm a quiet type person , I took the roll and left . It was very good. Message -order the cinnamon roll prior to meal.
