We were lucky enough to stop there in Jamestown on our way through from Michigan to the thousand Islands we are staying right around the corner at the La Quinta. We ended up going there late one night small place wonderful ambience just so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious we ended up purchasing some extra chips and salsa to go for the weekend. We ended up eating the chips and salsa and even bought some more chips at just a grocery store not as good though but the chimichanga and the steak burrito or phenomenal priced well we liked it so much that on our way from the thousand Islands back to Michigan we conveniently got tired and had to spend the night again so we can go there in the morning and have lunch fantastic food fantastic food. Highly recommend and the variety is is it would take us 10 years of going there to try to try everything but we already have our favorites and probably that'll be the only thing we ever order cuz we were not disappointed read more

Would never visit this restaurant again. The new owner took up an attitude when telling her it was not what I ordered. She was nice at first but them got confrontational when I said something to her about wrong meal was delivered she said it's what you ordered and she said she didn't want to get into trouble by sending it back. She also said that the previous owners were doing something crooked. How unprofessional is that. I was a mobile/brick morter restaurant owner and I would never do this to a customer. I would do anything I could to correct the issue to make my customers happy. Even if it meant losing money on the meal. She expected me to sit there and eat it after she brought to the table and it was wrong. Took an hour to get chips and salsa. And did you ever have beef nuts? We wanted to eat else were but everything was closed so we ended up here. It was meh. They did have good chips and salsa. I had the dinner combo and it was ok, everything tasted the same. This is one of my favorite places for Mexican food in Jamestown. I love the tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas the rice that comes with it down to the chips and salsa they give to you. If I lived in Jamestown I would be here weekly. Service is always prompt and friendly. I can't really tell you what to get because everything is good. I have typically get beef and cheese in whatever I get. I have not tried chicken however I have heard good things about the chicken choice as well. Fabulous food, perfect service and the ambiance was a laid back diner-style with Mexican music playing, as it should be.

We came down with a party of 5 and found this to be a delightful experience. Our party of 5 was seated immediately for dinner. There were a few other tables occupied by other patrons as we quickly placed our orders for 5 different meals. All the food came out quickly and was piping hot. The combination dinner portion was gigantic and there was plenty of food for all. The chips and clearly homemade salsa were some of he best I've had. This was a gem of a find in a virtually empty downtown area during the weekend. Meter parking on the street was free (not posted) during the weekend as well. Watch out for the restroom as this was not on the same quality level as the food... it was actually kind of yucky. Food, service, and overall experience were very good. Just use the bathroom before you arrive... or hold it until you get somewhere nicer (like a McDonald's). read more

Disregard any negative reviews about this place -- they've found their footing and the food is delicious, the staff is wonderfully kind and efficient, and you will be a very happy customer. I eat here multiple times a month, and each time am impressed by the quality and speed of the service. The food is amazing - delicious and homemade sauces. Love their chips and salsa! Went on a Thursday night, and it wasn't very busy. We were greeted kindly, and seated by the window with chips and salsa. I loved how thin and crispy the chips were, and the salsa was very flavorful. I ordered a la cart items; a hard beef taco, a cheese enchilada and a tamale. Everything was delicious, and very filling! Customer service in that place could be a bit better the Mexican lady there each time I asked her for something which mind you was once for Napkins and then when I was paying I asked if I can get a plastic fork to go felt like I was inconvenience her! The food was eh ok. I had a steak burrito. Now it's sad when a non-Mexican tells you that food could of had better flavor. The meat was so bland and chewy gross. The left over I to go I had to throw it away I just couldn't finish it. Won't go there again. We are in Jamestown one night passing through. We asked the hotel clerk for a recommendation. She gave me list tat didn't have El Jarocho on it. Due to most of the others being closed on a Monday, we checked Yelp and saw El Jarocho. It was great. the chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. Best Mexican in town in my opinion. The prices are great, especially at lunch. And the food is amazing. I usually get the Texano. Always comes out quick and hot. Chicken is never undercooked. The chips and salsa are great too. Always tastes to fresh. Get the cheese dip as well. Chips and salsa are complimentary, so ordering the cheese dip doesn't push your bill up high.
