El Jarrito is a good Mexican spot in Katy. They've got all your standard Tex Mex dishes. I like how they bring out beans with the salsa. The queso is tasty and I requested pickled jalapeños which they gave plenty of that were mild. I forgot to take pics of my main meal because I was too hungry but I had a combo plate that had a cheese enchilada, chicken chalupa, and beef fajita taco. The enchilada was tasty. The chalupa was difficult to eat and the chicken had no taste. The beef in the taco was overly charred tasting. I liked the beans and rice. Next time I would probably just get an enchiladas plate. The service was good and I like how ornate the decorations are. The tables are also nicely organized to provide a bit of space from others.

Is it still good? Yes, el Jarrito still has tasty food and good drinks. I had the mole enchiladas. I have had mole before where the sauce was very heavy, but not so much with this dish. Add just a touch of crema fresca (Mexican sour cream) to each bite, and the taste is incredible. Recommended. I drank a house margarita with the meal and enjoyed it. Strong, but still smooth. Later I had some of my wife's quesadillas. A ton of cheese and very good. We enjoy the green sauce and beans served with tortilla chips.

One of my favorite patios... Our server was nice and accommodating. It being Good Friday, I asked if I could have the shrimp stuffed poblano as it was not on the menu and server was very sweet and said that they would try. They delivered. My son opted for the burrito. It was big enough that he took half of it to go. The beans they serve with the salsa are always so delicious.

El Jarrito is a great Mexican restaurant. The service is amazing, the food was delicious. Especially the chips and beans that they give you to start. The drinks like the Margaritas are extremely spiked and delicious. Can't wait to go back soon.

I love the vibe of this place and the bright colors everywhere! Our service today was slower than normal but was still good. I ordered a chicken flauta and tostada but was given a chicken taco. I was on my work lunch break so I just ate it and it was delicious.

The best Mexican in the USA with good prices and great portions. Try the burritos, Abuela, or the tortilla soup (a meal in itself).

Food was ok. The noise was so loud with the music they had blasting we could barely talk. It was not a good dinner atmosphere.

Good food and good portions. Margaritas need a little work but overall this restaurant is great if you want some good Tex mex.

This place has one of the best drinks, both of my our drinks was delicious . I'd come back here just for the drinks alone. The food wasn't too bad. After living in Houston for…read more15 years and dining all over the city, this was by far the most disappointing restaurant experience we've had. What made it even more frustrating is that we've been to the Cypress location many times, and every single visit there has been exceptional -- great food, great service, and consistently enjoyable. Unfortunately, the La Centerra location was the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive the wrong appetizer. The fajita plate arrived cold and without rice, beans, or tortillas. We sent both dishes back. The replacement appetizer -- ceviche tostadas -- finally arrived, but it was overloaded with lemon to the point of being unbearably sour. Meanwhile, there were still no tortillas, rice, or beans in sight. No drink refills, no updates, and barely any service during the entire wait. After another long stretch of waiting, we finally asked the server what was happening, only for her to return and tell us the kitchen was closing and they no longer had tortillas, rice, or beans available. At that point, after nearly 1.5 hours, we walked out with nothing but a to-go box of fajita meat. To the manager's credit, they removed the appetizer and fajita charges from the bill, but the experience itself left such a bad taste that it completely overshadowed the gesture. Extremely disappointing, especially compared to the excellent standards we've experienced at the Cypress location. Sadly, we will not be returning to this location.
