Genuinely one of our favorite places. Every parking spot can be taken and there will be a line at the door, but we have never had to wait over a half an hour and even that long is rare. We've tried multiple dishes and been satisfied every time but our go tos have become the chicken chimichangas (which my husband and I often split because it's so much food!) and the chicken chorizo ACP. First time visiting here on a Friday night and it was a bit busy. Parking lot is a bit tight and crappy fyi. We got seated right away and they bring out chips and salsa. We did the margarita flight which came with four 5 oz margaritas. We chose lime, peach, mango and pineapple as our flavors. They were a bit on the weak side. We have been to El Jimador a number of times and every time we go the food has been delicious. The only issue we have ever had was the open arrangement can make it loud, especially if members of your party have hearing loss. But where they have amazed me most is we went with a party of 30 who picked up a few unexpected guest the wait staff pivoted perfectly and for dealing with a large party it was one of the most organized evenings I've seen the staff really blew me away. This was a peak dining experience. I got the tacos with grilled chicken WHY WERE THEY SO GOOD? ALL of my family enjoyed their food. I love this restaurant from the service, the food, just everything. We went for my birthday last week and it was terrific as usual. I love the fajitas with chicken and shrimp. Sooo Goood. My husband always gets a large platter of alot of different things and he really loves the huge mugs of beer on draft. The prices are great as well. If it is your birthday they put a sombrero on your head, sing happy birthday to you and bring you a free dessert. It reminds me of Chi Chi's back in the day. Try it, you will love it! Everything was excellent. Food was so so good that I had to force myself to slow down while eating. Enchiladas were the best I've ever had, including in Mexico, Columbia and Guatemala! Honestly, I do not understand the haters giving El Jimador low, low ratings. This place is wonderful!! And full disclosure: I am a Mexican food SNOB!! I was born and raised in Southern California, so you can bet I know great Mexican food! Now, was El Jimador the best I've ever eaten? No! But their food is very solid and there is plenty on the menu for people who don't want queso on everything. Their main salsa is admittedly super mild, but our server brought me two spicy salsas, one red one green, that were serviceably spicy. I had Huevos Rancheros and my wife had the Enchiladas Deluxe. We both enjoyed our food and left stuffed. When the bill came, we were both very surprised at how reasonable the meal cost too, so big plus there! The service was friendly, fast, and attentive. Everyone we came in contact with was absolutely wonderful!! And the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful!! Thoughtfully designed and artistically executed, they clearly thought of every detail!! The booths and tables are custom hand-carved with figures of tequila harvesting and rural Mexican life. There is fresh, vibrant art everywhere and custom stonework everywhere you look. And their bar!!! It's a thoughtful and beautiful center-piece to the room! We were there for an early lunch and it was already getting busy. But we never felt rushed or neglected. I imagine the place gets mobbed for Friday and Saturday dinner service. But as opposed to being crowded, I get the impression this is one of those places that just gets more and more fun!! The place was packed. The food was "good", but had no seasoning. The rice was the cheapest white rice you can buy, with something that makes it reddish, guess it was tomato? There was also a language barrier with the waiter. It was a Sunday and VERY busy, so I guess they had to pull in everyone. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. Wow, this place beyond exceeded my expectations. AMAZING quality food, amazing taste, and highly seasoned. The atmosphere is so fun and beautiful, I can't recommend it enough. I am typing this as I finish eating and am stuffed, but it was sooo tasty that I want to eat the whole meal again. We tried the skinny margarita and the cucumber jalapeño margarita, both were great.
