Had a terrible experience. Had a coupon for buy one menu item at regular price get one free and the waiter told me I couldn't use it. Paid my bill, then ordered a 2nd beer. When he brought my new bill it had the original menu items plus both beers on it. I told him I had already paid the first bill and he told me "no, you are drunk." When I went to talk to the manager, he said the bill was not paid. When he asked the waiter about it, he found it in his pocket along with my cash. No apologies from either. I was craving some chips and salsa, so this place was recommended. I got the flautas verdes, which were really good, though I've had better green sauce. The texas margarita is delicious! It was on the rocks (I prefer them that way) and super tasty! The only problems we had were with our service, which could have just been the result of a bad day. We didn't get chips and salsa until the second time the waitress came around, and the first time she came around, she seemed to get really frustrated with us because we weren't sure which margaritas we were going to have. I was very dissapointed in our service last night. There were 11 of us. Our waiter forgot several drinks and silverware. We had our food five minutes before our silverware and when we asked for it he threw it all in the middle of the table (where most of us could not reach). He never smiled once and acted very irritated. We were not a bad crowd! Food was good, as usual. This server has been there for many years and he continues to act this way. Very upsetting! read more

Well let's start with how we were told how the menu described a dish wasn't exactly how we were going to get it. Then the lunch fajitas were covered in red pepper! Really, most places will let you know if it's spicy, & usally fajitas are all about the wonderful original flavor of the meat and veggies. Needless to say I will never come here again. read more

Americanized Mexican food... really expensive for what you get. I have been here way too many times.... usually for lunch. If you get a meat dish, don't count on much meat being in it... I think I counted 4 pieces of chicken in my last lunch....ummm, huh? most Mexi-places are like 98% meat! Too much red pepper flakes in every single item from the salsa to the refried beans (see other persons review... guess they saw those flakes in everything too.... I think these are what give you the amazing dragon breath for 2 days after!). This is the only Mexican place I have been to that put these pepper flakes on everything (not sure if they are on dessert items, and I didn't see them in the tequilla shots, so I may have exaggerated slightly). I know this place is packed on the weekends.... but just ins't for me... I prefer the hole-in-the-wall scary looking local Mexican places way better! I will say the Patron was good and they have good service and super nice servers :) read more

El Mariachi is an authinic Mexical restuarant. They have a wide veriety of basic mexican food if you like simple. Also, they have a more complex menu to satisfy a more complex palete. We have never been disapointed with any item we have order. Highly recommended. read more

If I could give half star I would ! Fast service . Tasteless meat . Dried out meat . Guac , was runny . Not chunky . Salsa was sour . Chips burnt Started to feel sick half way through my meal . Left because it wasn't worth staying . Went to pay , the guy asked how everything was I told him the truth & he was like oh well snatched the card and swiped it . Good Mexican style food. Staff speaks English fairly well. Only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is that I feel that the food has too much of an American hint to it. The wait can be long sometimes compared to other Mexican restaurants. read more

We were loving El Mariachi (previously gave them a five star review) and this had been our third visit in the last couple of weeks but we had a terrible experience tonight! We were seated and no server came to our table. We watched tables seated after us get their drinks and their orders taken. I finally told the host and he eventually came to take our drink order. We waited for our drinks and finally had enough. I told the host as we walked out and rather than put his phone call on hold, he just rolled his eyes and said, "Sorry." hands down, the BEST mexican food around. we mostly get carryout and our order is NEVER wrong, which happens a lot with other places. the food is awesome with huge portions. always hot and fresh. my husband loves the chicken pastor and i love the fajita chimichanga. and their refried beans and rice round out a great combo. try it, you won't be sorry! read more

Service took 30 minutes to bring out the food. They offered a dessert but we were not hungry any longer after splitting a fajita dinner and an extra order of rice. The waitress said the manager will take off 5.00 from your tab. But when we received the bill ... he ADDED that we needed to pay for an order of chips. Which he charged us 2.75 additional to the bill. The waitress said it was something 'new' that he was going to start to implement that night. It was not on the menu that there was an additional charge for chips when you are eating there .... He was dishonest... and was not apologetic for the food coming out so late and he was rude. read more

Never been so unhappy that I would write a review but This restaurant was more than terrible. The hostess was rude when she sat us. The food was grey and cold when we told the manager about the food that we didn't eat he brought out our waiter who then yelled at us and called us liars in front of the other staff and patrons. We were in Hamilton visiting relatives and stopped at El Mariachi with a large group. In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that one of our party is a chef at the restaurant, on his day off, so we may have received "family and friends" treatment, but I was very impressed at how well they handled a group of close to 20 who showed up without a reservation. The service was very efficient and fast, our food was delivered promptly, and the drinks kept flowing. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, and the dish was excellent. Everyone else seemed pleased with their meal, so overall it was a great time. I also noticed a very friendly atmosphere with diners at other tables -- it seemed that there were quite a few "regulars," and that added to the experience. read more

These prices are not correct. The parillo for 2 is actually $25.99, not $20.99. The food was good but there was about 80% vegetables in the parillo meat and 20% actually meat and that is a conservative estimate. My daughter's kids meal with 2 tacos was like $8. We won't be back. read more

Great food, never been disappointed, and when I went there with a friend who doesn't love Mexican and didn't like what she got they quickly took it back and made her something new no questions asked, no charge! went there saturday night for first time. service was excellent however margaritas pretty weak in flavor.chiles poblanos way undercooked,were tough and batter was soggy and they also left seeds in chiles, when we told them this the manager said they did not have time to remove seeds. waitress did take the cost of meal off of check but then my wife hardly had anything to eat. don't have time to remove seeds from chiles? maybe we don't have time to go back! read more
