    Enchiladas Mexicanas
    Kimberly B.

Will not be back, Hostess was anything but friendly and food was just not good. Our server on the other hand was great! Him alone I'll give 5 stars! Very nice and kept making sure we had everything and that all was good. I just didn't have the heart to tell him how much I disliked the food. I ordered three enchiladas, cheese, chicken and beef. It look lovely with all the color of the sauces. Maybe it is just me but I like flavor and the fixes with tomatoes and lettuce. I love Mexican food and was excited to try this place. But the food was so bland and simple. The one with just cheese had a funky taste I did not care for. The only thing that had some flavor was the beans, a okay! Not very many people there when we went. Looked liked to be a very beautiful place and bar. Sadly just don't want to waste my time and money coming back.

We arrived in town late and hungry. Found this spot using Yelp, chose this spot based on the Google reviews. OMG! It did not disappoint. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent, service excellent.

A regular stop dining in or carryout, food is amazing! Highly recommend their authentic Mexican guacamole.

Carne de Puerco en Salsa Verde. My absolute favorite dish here.

Look, the food here is super legit. Order something yummy, not just a quesadilla or some tacos. The carne de puerco is soooooo yummy. Omg. It's sinful. And the carnitas, yes, just yes. My boyfriend prefers the seafood enchiladas, and I have tried them and agree, they are very good. Try them if you like seafood and need something new and exciting. Complementary chips and salsa, and they aren't shy about refills. I really love the Texas style margaritas on the rocks, talk about delicious. You'll always catch me here drunk and happy with a belly full of tequila. The service here is always excellent. The owner of the place is a true gentleman. I've heard people speak negatively about this place, and I don't get it. I've tried many Mexican restaurants in the area, but I always find myself stacking them up against El Mariachi. In fact, the only better Mexican food I've ever personally had comes from the two Mexican women whom I work with. Really, carnitas or the carne de puerco, and you'll know what I'm talking about. Love this place.

The parking lot is a little small (pro tip: go around the round about to get to the actual entrance to the lot, the other entrance is blocked off), but it is totally worth the effort. I tried the horchata...huge glass and has incredible floral notes that I've boy had in other versions. 100% recommend! I also tried the cheese and the pork/cheese pupusas. Light, soft and completely delicious, the accompanying cabbage and carrot slaw was acidic and bright. Definitely delicious and the prices are super cheap. The salsas are very authentic, the green one being my favorite. I can't wait to bring people back here. The decor is simple and very clean, and there is a takeout area as well as some seating. The service was very fast and friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Starting off with the place itself and the staff. Outside as you walk up has a great outdoor patio area, lots of seating and a fire pit, pretty nice option for outdoor seating. I like the Dia De Los Muertos guy in the front as well. I did not get photos of the patio since I could only have 20 pics, but it is a very nice setup. Inside, the staff was friendly as we walked in, our server was very nice as well, made sure our drinks stayed full and checked in on us often. The restaurant itself is large, plenty of seating all around and has a nice big bar as well. Even has a white mini grand piano in the bar area. Decor is vibrant and very clean inside. Now to the food and here is where I have mixed feelings. I really liked all the salsas as well as the habanero salad, super tasty and a good spice level as well, which is sometimes hard to find when I visit. The chips were on point as well. My rice and beans I also enjoyed. Where I was let down a bit was the chicken taco, taste was decent, but in the dryer side, but I liked it. My disappointment was in the beef tacos, first it was ground beef, not what I am used to in a taco from authentic Mexican food, normally shredded, but that was not the issue, the meat itself had a very odd taste, actually kind of like soy beef or somehow a bit off, flavor of the meat spoiled the taco for me. All in all I give the place 5 stars for the outside area, the staff, interior and bar was nice. Chips and all the salsa, rice and beans as well. 4 stars for the chicken taco, good not great. 2 stars and being generous on the beef tacos though, those need a lot of work. So I averaged it to 4 stars overall, I debating between 3-4, but the rest made me go higher. I would come back again for sure, I would just avoid the beef tacos IMO. They have a ton of stuff on the menu, thus my pics, so I am sure I would find a better choice. Enjoy!

If you can't speak at least a little Spanish you could run into some slight issues, but the food is delicious. They have the absolute best tres leche cake I've ever eaten. They offer both strawberry and peach flavors. HINT: I think it's cheaper if you go to the their mercado which is outside the restaurant, but still in the same building and purchase the cake. Especially if you're planning to take it home to eat later, like I do. I rarely have room for dessert after eating my dinner. If you ever need a large "sheet- style" cake for a special occasion you should really think about ordering the tres leche cake from here, but It does have chopped nuts on top, so if that's an issue make sure you ask them to leave them off. With nuts or without, your guests will be amazed. We REALLY miss the former Mercado. They used to serve delicious hot foods and had great prices on meats/chicken, house made salsas, etc., They got rid of that area to make more room in the restaurant for customers.
