We have always enjoyed Eduardo's for the stunningly fresh seafood incorporated into delicious tacos. The guac is fabulous, too. This last trip, over the span of two weeks, we went five times (a few lunches, and our last dinner). Eduardo's tomatillo salsa is particularly delicious, as is the dusky red salsa made with dried chiles. We very much enjoyed the special tacos made with tuna with a mango and fig salsa, and the shrimp tacos are reliably transcendent. Everything is fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. I wish I could have tacos like this on the regular where I live. One caveat - you will wait between 10-15 minutes during busy times. It's a taco truck. This was my favorite meal on Ocracoke during our Outer Banks trip. The 10-minute wait was worth it and almost missing the next ferry to Hatteras, was worth it. Eduardo's is an unassuming-appearing food truck on Ocracoke with outdoor picnic tables for seating. We were surprised at how extensive the menu is (About 3-4 pages long). While waiting for our food, I perused the garden shop behind Eduardo's where they sell herbs, potted flowers, plants, bushes, etc. I ordered the shrimp enchilada which ended up being a huge portion of corn tortilla, tomatillo salsa,sour cream, cheese, cilantro, avocado and onion. My enchiladas were super tasty and fresh, covered in amazing tomatillo salsa. My husband ordered shrimp tacos which were also fresh and delicious, but not as big a portion as the enchilada. Eduardo's is a great little place to stop for some unique twists on delicious Mexican food. I've been going since they opened and they've never disappointed. Their flavors are always top notch. For folks complaining about the wait -- you're on a tiny island and they're one food truck serving dozens of people, what did you expect? They do accept cards now as well! read more

I remember when Eduardo used to be a taco truck parked in the lot of the convenience store. They have benches to sit and eat at or wait with umbrellas hanging over them. I have never seen them all filled. Always a spot to sit at Eduardos. Menu is filled to the brim with options. Most tacos, burritos, bowls, and a few other things. Nice little bit of heat from locally grow hot peppers and fresh crunchy warm chips. There were specials of the day. My hubby had the Spanish Mackerel Tacos with fresh cabbage slaw and pico de gillo. The fish was flakey, juicy and just perfectly cooked. The spice level was dead on as well. I devoured my Mahi and Mango burrito which was big enough I could have had 2 meals from it. The Mahi was fresh and there were several large pieces. Much more than a normal restaurant would serve as an entree. The spice level was dead on. We spent a week in the OBX area and ate at a lot of different restaurants and this place was hands down the best food we had all week. We even went back the day we left to try it again. Underwhelming would be an understatement. Later in the lunch day (after 1pm) there was a very short line so they weren't overwhelmed. From screwing up the order, (trout instead of shrimp) even after confirming twice, once while ordering and a second time at pickup, to the seriously underripe diced mango, tasteless raw radish and cucumber slices thrown haphazardly on top of the tacos, to the lack of almost any discernible seasoning, to the sour smell of the salsa, to the blandness of the fish- take your $35 somewhere else on the island. This place is usually okay at best, but this time was horrible. I ordered a chicken burrito, with no beans, no onions, no pico de gallo . And requested hot sauce on the side. Basically, none of my requests came true. Well sorta. They got the no beans part right, but continued to add the onions as well as charge me 50 cents for the hot sauce, but didn't even give it to me. Overall, I'm never coming back to this place again and instead just going to take the hour long ferry back to the mainland and drive to the closest Taco Bell because they can actually get my order right. DISCLAIMER: The food will take some time to come out so be ready to wait So on the menu is a, chefs specialty cheesy fried shrimp with mango taco. That didn't sound super appealing so I asked for it with no cheese and grilled shrimp instead of fried (I've had some bad past experiences). After a semi long wait I received my tacos to much glee. The taco not only had the diced mangos and delicious looking grilled shrimp, but it came topped with tomato, lettuce, cilantro, horseradish, and avocado. The avocado added a very welcome texture to the taco that you don't always get. Finally the taco came with a in house sauce that added a light but not overpowering taste to the taco. I would love to give this a 5 star review but I don't understand what took so long since I only ordered one taco (when I picked it up he said he had been looking for me so maybe it was my fault). So I had THE BEST taco I've ever put in my mouth here right. Seared scallops were, what I thought, the star. But they were only the opening act for a literal Woodstock Festival of flavors.
