    El Mariachi Loco

Food was good. We ordered horchata, fried calamari, and el mariachi loco. El mariachi loco came out on a hot plate. The meat got a little overcooked because we left it on the hot plate too long. The meat was well-seasoned.

Friday night in Hampton Bays begs for spicy Tex Mex / South American fare. Calm easy going vibe with authentic non commercial recipes. Not afraid to use various chili's to spice up their dishes. Fun Mexican music not too loud in the background. Trucks swishing by on. Montauk Hwy but quiet and nice warm lighting inside . Careful getting in and out of your car. Swoosh. Lol It was this or the place that replaced Orlando's This looked better. Welcoming and accommodating. They even split the enchiladas on two plates with two different sauces. Mole and the spicy one. Burritos more South American in style. As they had less or no tomato and more of a mild flavor.

Fab food. Fresh. Delicious. Filling. Guac is best ever and fish tacos are the very best. The real thing. Stop by. It's worth it.

Amazing authentic Mexican food. BYOB. Loved the enchiladas poblanas, carnitas tacos, and steak tostadas.

The tacos are packed with flavorful ingredients, and the signature crispy taco lives up to its name with a satisfying crunch. The margaritas are well made, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The prices are a bit higher than your average taco spot, but the quality of the food and the fresh ingredients help justify the cost. It can get busy during peak hours, especially in the summer, so expect a short wait. Overall, it's a solid choice for casual Mexican food in Southampton, with good food, a lively vibe, and service that keeps people coming back.

It is a newer casual Mexican spot in Southampton town that offers a variety of tacos, along other menu items. The space has a fun, modern design with several seating options. There is a small bar in the back with a television and about five or six seats, counter seating in front of the open kitchen, and four or five tables along the left side, some with partial booth seating. There is also outdoor seating available when the weather is nice. I came with a friend for an early, light dinner before seeing a movie. We only waited a few minutes before being seated near the entrance. Our server greeted us promptly and brought over menus. I ordered the Sombra Margarita ($18), made with mezcal, ginger, lime, and guava, while my friend chose the Classic Margarita ($16). The Sombra was very good, the smoky mezcal paired really well with the ginger and fruit flavors, making for a refreshing and balanced cocktail. Most of the tacos were $9 each. I ordered the Veggie Taco, which was generously filled, along with the Crispy Fish Taco. The fish had a satisfying crunch, although it was just slightly overcooked. Overall, it was a good spot for a quick, casual meal. I also noticed they were preparing quite a few takeout orders. They had a sign advertising happy hour every day from 3-6pm, $8 house margaritas, $7 select tacos, and discounted small plates. I would definitely come back to check out happy hour or try more of the menu.

Nostalgia brought me here…read more I've been going to La hacienda since I was in high school. It's probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in New York State (having gone to university in the city and upstate NY). Taco salad is always my go to.

Super nice touch if you want to practice a little español. We ordered chips & quac to start. There was an abundance of chips and the quac is made with lime so it's nice and zesty. They offered a hot sauce and a salsa verde in the little cups & they complimented the food nicely. Watch out for the hot sauce-- it's SPICY. I almost lost my taste buds before the food came bc it was so good. I had a shrimp burrito that was massive! I ended up fishing the shrimps out with a fork towards the end; I couldn't muscle it but I also couldn't stop eating. It came with a side of more chips. My husband had a chicken quesadilla & taco combo that came with refried beans topped with cheese, rice & a salad. Super filling & delicious! I dipped the chips in the beans and loved it. As we ate the phone rang off the hook. They probably do insane take out since it's a little place with only about 6 tables. It was reassuring that the food is super fresh! Deff a solid option out here where places don't seem to open until 12pm.

Okay, to the food! Shrimp in garlic tapas was the biggest hit here. We poured that sauce over everything we could. The olives were a nice addition as well. The skirt steak had a nice grilled taste and seasoning to it, and the chimichurri was perfect. The steak flight is an excellent idea. We enjoyed the option to try smaller samples of different cuts. My only complaint here is that all the steaks come out on one curring board and we had very little guidance on which steak was which cut. It would be nice to know so we could order the one we preferred as an entree next time. We left satisfied and will be back. I highly recommend this place!

We ordered appetizers the bacon dates which my husband will dream about until we get them again and the queso fundito which was basically melted cheese with chorizo on top. Or main meals were good but I was pretty full after appetizers so I only ate half the meal. A gentleman from the staff came over to asked if I had any issues with it or if I didn't like it. I explained I was full and wouldn't be going straight home to wrap it up to take with me. I appreciated that he asked. The place is cute, neon signs, bright colors and a decent amount of seating. There are high tops and low tables too and plenty of seats at the bar. We will be back.
