This little restaurant hidden in a large commercial complex. I was first apprehensive, when my Brother-in-law suggested it, but was glad that I listened to him, because it was a really nice suprised eating here. Inside was pretty small with less than a dozen tables. Couple of extra tables available outside, if weather permitted. My Brother-in-law ordered the chili rellenos plate, my Son ordered the chicken mole, and I ordered the arroz con pollo. My chicken rice dish was awesome, great taste, had that home cook feeling to it. The chili rellenos was really good as well, and my Son's chicken mole was OK as well, but maybe a little on the sweet chocolaty side, if toned down a bit, would of been great. All and all, great taste, friendly and attentive staff, made it a pleasure to eat here. Can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu. read more

What a hidden gem. My regular Mexican family restaurant closed down so I was in search of a replacement and I found it. Not in an area where you'd expect. Surrounded by a business strip mall. They have a salsa bar, staff are very attentive and friendly. Decor is traditional Mexican murals and coordinating colors. They offer outdoor seating (not many tables though) if you choose. Menu is a mix breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well as appetizers and prices are VERY reasonable. I highly recommend the carnitas plate as well as the carne asada sopes. I absolutely LOVE their Spanish rice and I usually end up eating my husbands rice. Definitely a must try for your Mexican food craving. read more

Had lunch a few days ago with a co-worker. It's been a few years since I've eaten here but recall very much enjoying the food. Although I recall the food being a little better before, it did not disappoint. It just might have been what I ordered. I ordered the burrito a la Diabla and my co-worker the al pastor wet burrito. My friend really enjoyed his burrito, but mine was just ok. I really expected it the be spicier and there wasn't a lot of meat. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I do intend to go back soon as Mexican is one of my faves and they have a really good salsa bar and free chips. read more

Well today would the final farewell to this establishment. We walked in, and yes it was busy as expected, but there was a table for two empty with dirty dishes on the table. The waitress walked by numerous times. Never said one moment, we'll be with you soon, nothing. Was a great place to eat. The owner, unfortunately, just don't see around any longer. The conclusion, we left and found a better place. One we had heard of and equality as close. Authentic and friendly service. Try Lolitas. Look at their location for this to be continued..... I have visited both locations, this one and the one in Pasadena. It's a small restaurant, very cozy, if you're not paying attention you'll completely miss it. It's owned and operated by a family and I would hate to burn my spot but the food and service here are amazing!!! Every time we walk in we are greeted as if we're long times friends. Everything I've tried here has been great. You can't go wrong with an asada plate if you're going to dine in. But if you're in a rush the burritos and tortillas are outstanding as well. read more

Mexican food is one of my favorites. Chips and Salsa while you wait. Drinking water or "agua" as the natives like to call it was good. The salsa had a nice roasted flavor to it and the chips were nice and fresh. The service was good and the food was also on par with what I'm use to. You see mis amigos, I grew up near Norwalk so I know my Mexican food, si?. This place does not disappoint. Not spectacular, or anything to write home or slap-yo-mama about but just an average plate of honest food at a fair price for the working man. We ordered the Chimichanga plate (7 out of 10) and the Steak or "Carne Asada" (6 out of 10) -both came with rice and beans. I did eat all of my rice and refried beans. They have a really good salsa bar and the restaurant from what I can tell was clean and cool inside. This review is for El Matador catering but the food came from this location. We had 135 person lunch event and their team was on top of it! They had 3 portable grills and our plates were made to order. We had many options to choose from plus a piece of fruit, a bag of tortilla chips and a drink. Everyone raves about the food. I had the chicken quesadilla with beans, tortilla chips, apple and water. It was delicious. The condiment bar had sliced limes, onion, cilantro and two types of salsa. It's a small place, decorated cute. I tried their Taco Tuesday, 1.25 street tacos. My favorite was the al pastor, it was full of flavor. All the meats were tender, not fatty or grisly. Because I'm on the task of finding the best fish tacos in the SG Valley I ordered one. Fresh fish, red snapper, not breaded, so healthier...it was good. I love cheese and it had a little on it along with the usual cabbage and white sauce. Next up, dessert!
