We came in late on a Saturday night, and it was very quiet. We each had the 3 for $5 tacos. I had beef, my husband had chicken and my daughter had carnitas. The corn tortilla was soft and flavorful. The beef in the taco was very tasty and My daughters carnita taco was delicious. The food came quickly and the service was pleasant. This is a local taqueria and we were pleasantly satisfied with our meal.

Four of us were in Columbus for a convention and wanted to try some local Mexican food. Being from Texas, we know good Mexican food and we were not disappointed! This was more like authentic traditional Mexican than the Tex-Mex we are normally used to. To start with, the chips and both the red and green salsa were some of the best we have ever had. One of the nightly specials was a large sautéed tilapia filet topped with 6 shrimp, rice and beans for $9.99. Two of us got the tilapia and the other two got different types of tacos. Everyone agreed their food was excellent. The service was traditional Mexican as well, excellent. This appears to be a one-of-a-kind family owned restaurant, definitely not a chain. The building is plain on the outside, without a large sign, a block off the main road so it took a little searching to find. But once inside, it was clean and smelled great, one of our pre-requisites to stay and eat anywhere. Based on the other reviews, the quality we enjoyed is the usual quality enjoyed every day.

El Mexicano Taqueria is a new restaurant with different management in the former Otro Taco location. It's a great place to get good, authentic tacos and meals. Highlights of the menu include the tacos with your choice of meat (I recommend the barbacoa de chivo goat meat), burritos and camarones en chipotle (shrimp spiced with smoked jalapeños). They also have daily specials written in Spanish as soon as you walk in the door. Overall a great choice for authentic Mexican in Columbus. I prefer El Mexicano's tacos to the other top rated choices in Columbus. Salsas are excellent as well, with a nicely spicy red sauce as well as a milder green tomatillo version, both served in mustard and ketchup bottles. Definitely worth a visit!

Since we'll be living in Zionsville for a while, we've been searching for our new go-to restaurants. Today we tried Salty Cowboy for the first time, and overall, we were impressed. We ordered the chips and salsa, tacos, and margaritas, and everything was very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. This could have been a 5-star review , but the chips tasted a bit stale and the salsa was somewhat bland and could have used a little more spunk. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend checking out Salty Cowboy if you're looking for good Mexican food in the area.

Apparently chips and salsa are no longer free. I had the short rib taco which was full of meat and quite tasty. The pickled onions on it though weren't really very pickled. They were okay but not great. I also had the mahi mahi taco and it was great and I loved the pineapple salsa.I opted for grilled shrimp but you could get them fried if you want. The big disappointment was the pollo con arroz that my husband ordered. It was luke warm. The waitress said no problem and she could get him a new dish quickly. She came back with that she claimed was a whole new dish in less than 5 minutes! I am sorry you can't make a whole new dish in 5 minutes. The rice was steaming hot. The chicken looked like chunks of boiled white chicken that had a cold crema under them so chicken was not hot. Not a lot of flavor. Very disappointing. Service was excellent.

I ordered a shredded chicken burrito and he ordered the beef burrito. They came out fairly quickly. My chicken burrito was barely lukewarm. I was expecting something hot. It had very little flavor. His ground beef burrito was similar. Very little flavor. Very little tomato or lettuce on the burritos . As far as the ambience goes, there is none. The lighting is fluorescent lighting on the ceiling and it's just too bright in there. They should consider pendant lighting with some warm lightbulbs to give it more ambience. I don't think we'll be back..
