So it was my first time and I had high expectations to see all the sexy men that they show in the IG videos. Maybe they don't work before 2 pm so my sister in law (her birthday) only got a girl, (waitress) a sweet homosexual bartender, one young cute waiter and a bus boy. Not at all what we expected. The food was ok. The drinks are pretty strong and the service was good. The place is gorgeous and has a lot of photo ops. Will I go again, maybe not bc we spent a lot and in this economy we are all on budget. We took the train from Milwaukee to celebrate my cousins birthday (she picked) I read the reviews and.. well we were all pleasantly surprised, the drinks were great, very nicely garnished in cute glassware, the food was also very good, especially the sushi! I chose this restaurant to celebrate my mom's 64th birthday, and unfortunately it turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. I made a reservation for 20 people two weeks in advance and even received a confirmation call the morning of the dinner, which I confirmed we would be there. We arrived on time, dressed, with her cake, balloons, and a group of mature guests ready to celebrate. Ultimately, after waiting over 50 minutes past her reservation time-- we were NEVER seated & had to leave so that we could eat! The whole while in there was only constant back-and-forth and confusion on their end. We were repeatedly told, "10 more minutes," then "15 more minutes," then "20 more minutes." Each time we asked for an update, the story changed. First, we were told we were waiting on a section that held 16 people. I told them there are no children in the group and 25 people were not sitting on top of eachother. Then we were told half the section was available and they were just waiting on two parties to leave. They even said they could add another table to seat us all. Five minutes later, those very seats we were told to wait for were given to another party. When I questioned this, they tried to shift the blame and said, "Well, you wanted a bigger space." That was not accurate -- I did request 5 additional seats, but the original space for 20 wasn't even ready. Instead of taking responsibility for mismanaging the seating, they attempted to gaslight me. They pointed to a group of ladies who had supposedly exceeded their 2-hour limit and said they had brought them the check -- yet no one asked them to leave, and they continued sitting there chatting while we stood waiting. Meanwhile, my 64-year-old mother and her guests were left standing with her birthday cake in hand. To make matters worse, while we waited over 50 minutes, we were refused service at the bar. We were not accommodated, nor prioritized in any way. We were also the only Black family waiting to be seated in that area, which made the lack of urgency and disregard feel even more uncomfortable. At one point, a staff member in the back made nonchalant remarks in Spanish implying that I could wait because I had asked for additional seats. While I'm not fully fluent, I understood enough. When I responded in English, he walked away. This was a milestone birthday celebration that had been planned in advance, confirmed the same day, and treated as an inconvenience by the staff. There was no accountability, no sincere apology, and no effort to make it right. I would not recommend this restaurant for special occasions -- or any occasion where you expect professionalism, respect, and basic customer service. A reservation should mean something. Ok everyone we just ate here and it's a bit different with the servers which is fine something different but cool for the ladies. So we started really good with the service but then the waitress forgot my wife's order and came and asked what had she ordered? So we reminded her which it can be ok as we understand if it's busy but it wasn't too busy to be honest. So we all had ate half of our food then my wife's food arrived so she asked the waitress what happened why did it take so long for my plate to get here so she responded with since it's mariscos which is sea food shrimp they took long which we knew she was not being honest and well I rather you as a waitress be honest and tell us you forgot and not make something up that will only makes us a bit mad. So we also ordered other plates with sea food and it came way earlier than my wife's plate and the food was coming out separately too which I thought it was odd also and because of that reason some of the food got cold because we wanted to wait for the rest of the food to eat all together like you do when you go out and eat. Food was good in some plates and others ok. Prices are up there for what is served. The enchiladas tasted a bit too much like guajillo the nuggets needed a bit more flavor the arrachera was way to hard but had a good taste my son said. The camarones a la diabla are good though my wife said the guacamole was really good. So would we come back maybe I would say they do have potential to do better for sure just need to adjust somethings and it will be a way better experience for sure. Mmm, not my cup of tea. We went for a light dinner and there were not serving alcohol even though half the menu is drinks. They suggested to go across the street to buy alcohol since it was byob at the moment. The decor made me iffy. Terrible service, mediocre food, and over priced. We waited over 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order and had to flag someone down. Other tables got the complimentary appetizer but we did not. My wife got her food in 15 mins. My son and I did not. Long story short, after trying to get their attention and asking multiple times, my son got his food 45 mins into the meal, but the order was wrong so we sent it back. It was an hour into the meal and I never got my order of enchiladas. So I asked for the check and told them to just remove the two meals bc I cant wait any longer. They refused to take off my sons order bc they said they had already made it and bagged it to go for us even though it was wrong and we didn't want it. NEVER COMING BACK!
