Happy hour weekdays from 3pm to 7pm with a fun drink menu with a nice bar section next to the kitchen and ofcourse you gotta have menudo and pozole on the weekends. They also have hot soups (Caldos). We ordered the Taco Fiesta platter that comes with 4 tacos (protein of choice-seafood extra) and rice/beans and the chilaquilles platter with carne asada and 2 eggs sunny side up. Everything came out hot and was sooooo tasty. There seafood tacos are choice of grilled or fried tilapia or shrimp. I love there beans and rice! Everything is authentic and the chips and salsa varieties are yummy. The service is on point and humble. She had a nasty attitude and no smiles at all. I asked if they sold sopes I asked where on the meñu was it? So I can look at my options. The server told me it wasn't on the Meñu. In my head I'm like "how do you not have it on the meñu but yet sell it ?" I didn't make it a big deal but for some reason she seemed annoyed. I also asked one of the other servers if they can bring a lemonade for my daughter, she had said yes she can do that. But.. We got our food 35 mins later (keep in mind it was one plate) we were waiting on. & we still hadn't gotten our lemonade I had asked for. The cook brought us our plate & he was nice and asked if we needed anything else. I said " I asked one of the servers for a lemonade and it still hasn't been brought." & he mentioned he would let them know. Then the server comes back with an attitude and places it on the table, not even a word said. I even thanked her multiple times and nothing was said, no "you're welcome" or anything. She never even checked up on us or asked if we needed anything else. If you can't handle being a server why even work as one? Simple as that. This is what ruins a restaurant's reputation and makes people not want to go back. No tip was deserved.

From the moment your plate hits the table, you can tell you're in for something special. The burrito is massive, perfectly wrapped, and completely smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce that strikes that ideal balance between bold and comforting. Every bite is loaded with well-seasoned meat, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of cheese melted over the top. What really sets Las Fuentes apart is the depth of flavor. The sauce isn't just an afterthought--it's the star, tying everything together with a savory, slightly tangy kick that keeps you coming back for more. The rice and beans on the side are just as impressive, clearly made with care and not just filler on the plate. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the overall experience feels authentic and satisfying. Whether you're a wet burrito lover or trying one for the first time, this spot will raise your standards. Las Fuentes isn't just good--it's the kind of place you start craving the second you leave. The inside has a great Spanish decor.

I stumbled upon Monarca on Yelp and we decided to try it out! We arrive and are nicely greeted by one of the employees at the counter. The inside was clean and well kept which we love. My wife and I ordered 2 breakfast burritos and the green chilaquiles. She got the Deluxe burrito and I got the chorizo. We bring them home and open up the bag and these things are MASSIVE! In the best way! We begin taking bites and are both amazed. Me a little bit more. I really really enjoyed this burrito. Maybe because it has rice instead of potatoes, I'm not sure, but it was delicious. My wife also really enjoyed hers; she gave it a 7.5 out of 10. I give my burrito a 9/10. Our chilaquiles were a whole other story and flavor profile. The carne asada that came with it was life changing. Whatever seasoning they used on tha carne asada is perfect. My wife was deeply impressed. The sauce, the chips, the eggs, beans and rice were all very very good as well. All complimented each other very well. If you're ever in the van Nuys area, please stop here for breakfast, you won't regret it!

The asada plate is always on point, their only downfall is the lack of a liquor license but if you're not here to drink it's a great spot. I honestly wish they'd bring back the karaoke as I loved seeing the older crowd sing their hearts out, my absolute favorite thing about the check out process is the fact that I can pay for the meal with my phone by scanning a QR code on my receipt. I'm not sure whose idea that was but give that person a raise, it's so convenient to not have to hand my card over to a server and then sign the receipt. Definitely try this place out, you won't be disappointed

I had an appointment earlier and decided to meet up a friend…read morefor dinner. They mentioned this place which is fine as I've alway enjoyed each visit. Plus we were meeting early which also happy hour was still happening. I think it's from 3-6. Even at 5 in the afternoon, there was no parking in the lot. And the residential parking was pretty much packed. As I had my little pup with me, we needed a table outside. It's been a while since I was seated outside. Usually it's been in the bar area. They have a back gate at the patio but it was locked. First off, the place was packed. It's been a while since it's been like that. Or maybe I've only been coming during happy hour. Also, it's somewhat seems to be a thing where you have to ask for the happy hour menus. Anyways, their items are pretty decent for prices. Drinks specials and some of the food items are worth it. We alway get a pitcher of beer for the table to share. Food wise, a couple of the ceviche. Either fish or shrimp and that's served with a tostada chip. For 12.00, it's pretty decent in size and quite tasty. Between the fish or shrimp, I prefer shrimp better. Also, two street tacos for 5.00 with many choices of protein. Lastly, the loaded fried nachos for 12.00. Let's say when they mean loaded, it was loaded. That too comes with your choice of protein which I went with the al pastor. The food was great. Reasonable price and well portioned. Plus the chips and bean dip to start off. They also accommodate some salsas with chips which is nice. Before it would alway be the bean dips and you would have to ask for the salsa. If you want fresh guacamole, they have someone that will prepare it table side to your liking. This visit, there was also the mariachi band walking around asking people if that wanted any requests. The service was great, the staffs all are amazing and friendly. Some familiar faces which is nice.

One of my favorite places to eat!…read more I love the beans and tortilla chips they place at the table as you look through the menu. They also have a self serve salsa bar. Overall, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, it's all so tasty and affordable for the amount of food they serve. Something I find odd is how big and chunky their pico de gallo is but honestly I don't mind it lol Tip: if you don't mind sitting outside, do that. It tends to get very smoky inside since people frequently order fajitas (which come out sizzling hot every time). Parking can sometimes be a struggle depending on how busy it gets. Oh and if you could, pay in cash. They add a little extra to cover transaction fees.

Unfortunately, the prices have skyrocketed. I guess it's a sign of the times like a lot of places. S&B used to be known for good Mexican food at an affordable price. The food is still delicious (I love their beans and bean dip, and my bf really likes their rice). Just not in love with these prices. To get the most value, if you order one of the burritos, you can easily split it into two meals because they're pretty big. Got the chicken fajita burrito and had half for lunch yesterday and today. Suddenly, an almost $25 burrito turns into a couple of lunches for under $15.

Over the last 4 years, I honestly felt like the quality across most locations had really gone downhill -- the meat didn't taste the same, the passion in the food wasn't there, and the employees often seemed rude or just completely over it. I stopped going altogether for about a year. Recently, I moved near this location and decided to give it one more shot... and I'm SO glad I did. This location brought back the early 2012 Taco Llama vibes. The food tasted fresh, the meat quality was on point, and everything felt like it was made with care. The employees were genuinely kind, quick, and efficient -- which already stood out. But what really impressed me was even the cook. At most locations, the cooks look angry or like they can't wait to clock out. The cook here, along with the short woman working with him, looked like a solid team. They were focused, calm, and actually seemed like they cared about what they were doing. You could feel the difference. Yes, $14 for a burrito is on the higher side -- I won't lie. But honestly? It was worth every dollar. The flavor, the nostalgia, the whole experience hit. I've been to over 6 different locations, and this is the ONLY one that truly brought back the original Taco Llama feel for me. 10/10. Highly recommend this location.
