Early morning breakfast? This is the spot! Columbian food- but also American breakfast ! I was up very early this morning and starved. This place opens super early and I was in having breakfast at 7am!!! Great prices. Great food. Very fast service. Couldn't complain about anything. Everything was up to par with what I know columbian food to taste like. The egg whites perico wasn't my favorite - I've had way better. But good.

Do you want meat sweats? Because the Plato Montanero is how you get meat sweats. El Montanero is a small restaurant and bakery serving pastries and cakes up front and massive portions of Colombian food in the back. We (4 small girls) made the mistake of ordering a dish per person, when we probably could have shared one or two and still had leftovers. Case in point: the Plato Montanero. Unless you are a bear, haven't eaten for two weeks, or are a competitive eater, there's no way a normal person could take this down by themselves. It's a MASSIVE plate of rice, beans, a full steak, egg, sausage, chicharron, arepa, and half an avocado. All. On. One. Plate. I think all of us cried a little when they came out and realized the horrible mistake we had made. But on the plus side, everything was absolutely delicious. The steak was incredibly flavorful, and the rice and beans were cooked perfectly. The chicharron was a little fattier than I was expecting, but still great. I loved the juicy sausage, and you can never go wrong with a runny egg. I think I tackled like an eighth before admitting defeat (and then had leftovers for a full week). But now that I've learned my lesson, I'd definitely come back here for more.

    Ugliest gender reveal cake

They made me the ugliest cake you could think of. They have a catalog with very complicated cakes on the counter so I thought this couldn't be that hard and I was wrong. They put no creativity or love into It. It was suppose to be a gender reveal cake and I don't even want to post pictures that's how ugly It is. I'll post what I wanted vs what i got.

DELIVERY IS A NO SHOW!!! It pains me to share this bad review with the public because my husband and I loved this restaurant. We've been stopping by and ordering delivery for over 7 years! NEVER AGAIN! Tonight I realized that they don't care about their customers. I placed our dinner order at 7:35pm and was told it would be delivered in an hour. I called back at 9pm (an hour and a half later) and was told that they're extremely busy, that my order was being prepared, and that I would have it at my door in 30 minutes. I was asked if I still wanted it and I said yes. I waited. 40 minutes later, nothing. Realizing that the restaurant closes at 10pm, I called again. No answer. I kept calling, no answer. As I type this, it's now 11:43pm, over 4 hours since my original call! They don't answer their phone, and no one has delivered food. I work in the service industry, so I know that it's not easy sometimes, but how about they realize they're overwhelmed and stop taking orders? How about common courtesy and calling customers to tell them they're running late or call to explain why they must cancel an order? How about they answer the phone and explain their predicament? I wonder, what happened to all the orders that were placed after mine? Certainly I cannot be the only customer they've ignored? I know it's Valentine's Day and I expected a longer wait, and was surprised they said one hour, but this is ridiculous! The delivery is not late, this business deliberately chose to ignore their customer, point blank. They didn't care that people were waiting on them for dinner, what if there were children waiting, as well? This is inconsiderate, irresponsible and unprofessional. I will never go back or order from them again. I'm giving them 1-star so that it'll show up for the public to see.

Some of what I ordered. I ordered this, that's supposed to cone with eggs. It literally says that on the menu. Instead of apologizing saying its the wrong menu in which all the menus say the dame thing, u decide to not honor what i order/paid for. Then when I order, i have to wait 20 mins for outdoor seating. The cashier never confirmed with me that a table was unavailable. When i ordered a table was vacant, so i confirmed when I paid. Service accountability needs work. I literally left because I was so annoyed I didn't even eat close to half pf my food

#The Plato Montanero is freakin huge. From looking at the photo, it looks smaller, but the steak is actually folded in half. After unfolding it, it's almost as big as the whole plate. Much the meat was too tough to eat though. I was hoping the fat and skin of the chicharron would be more edible, because I'm on #keto. The hot sauce in the #coffee creamer container is really good. Bright and fresh. It seemed to cost more than the menu said. I'm not sure what happened. I just handed them my #credit card without seeing the bill first. But I guess it's still a decent price for all that food. That plate was big enough for 2 people to share if you could eat everything on it. #I just checked off on this Yelp review that they do have a TV. I remember the TV. They were showing soccer and part of the screen was on the store demo setting (showing the TV feature/specs). I'm not sure why they leave that on.

Montañero Bakery & Restaurant is consistently great. In May I came here for the first time in five years (for some reason I thought it was only a bakery) to try an entree. My husband and I both ordered "tipico" or "traditional" dishes. I ordered the Montañero platter. I was surprised and excited while reading all that comes in the entree for only $14.00. My platter came with a strip of skirt steak, chorizo (sausage), pork strips, rice, beans, arepa, fried egg and avocado. The platter is huge! Wait, it gets better..... The food is yummy! All of the food I have had here has been great! (After my first visit I have come back many times). Additionally, they have freshly made fruit juices, Malt drinks, Alcoholic drinks (which I have yet to try) and other cool traditional columbian specialities. Their portions are very generous, their food is off the hook and the service is fast. My only Complaint unfortunately is that their desserts aren't very good. Actually they are bad. I know it's "Montañero Bakery and Restaurant" but the desserts and cakes I have ordered leave a lot to be desired. Apart from that embarrassing and unfortunate failure, the restaurant has got it going on in Myrtle. They have some of the best food, atmosphere, service and prices around. I definitely recommend Montañero.

But the chicharron and frijoles were great. The jugo de guanabana was delicious. Empanada was good too, though I would've liked a bit more of a flavor kick. After ordering the food it took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. The service was pretty slow. I ordered the carne asada with a side of frijoles since it only comes with white rice, sweet plantains and a potato. The meat itself was really hard to eat. It was very chewy and rough, not a good representation of Carne Asada. The white rice was just plain white rice. The potato had no seasoning on it, and the sweet plantains were super dry, which made them nasty and I couldn't even eat them. The beans had very little flavor or depth compared to other Colombian restaurants. There was no smoky or meat like savoriness, and it only had a very minimal hint of the usual aromatics. It also had a bit of a canned bean hint to it. Not very pleasant. Compared to other Colombian places I've had I would not come back to this place.
